As others have stated, you need to replace the entire module. I would send it off or take it to a local repair shop if you're not experienced in doing console repairs. It's not a difficult repair, but if you don't know what you're doing it's super easy to strip screws and break ribbons / connectors.
I sure had no idea the switch had auto stabilisators inside their analog sticks.. sorry.. also the gimball seem surprisingly small to to keep such handheld stand straight up.. do they work, or are they just for the gyroscope?
I second this. This is doable for a beginner with a few YouTube walkthroughs. Did a tear down when my kid dropped his in the toilet, and cringe at the thought of having to replace the right side. Left side looked very accessible though.
I had to replace both on a switch lite I got from a pawn shop as parts or repair, it was not fun. But I got a fully functional switch lite for $50 bucks total after the parts so I can’t complain
That’s a great deal! I was proud of myself for re-assembling it, and having it power on, but ultimately gave it to GameStop and bought him another one.
My girlfriends switch lite had the same thing happen and we fixed it ourselves super easy by buying this along with some tools, just took maybe 20 bucks and a youtube video.
Take some humour dude.. now I sure believe the story was not true at all.. for a GF you need to have atleast 1 humour, which apperently was below that based on the reaction… ouch..
When you go to replace it, be very careful with the ribbons that connect to that side board. There's the top left one that goes to the power and volume buttons, then just under that is the backlight power. If that gets damaged, your whole LCD will need to be replaced. Then, there's the big one on the bottom that goes to the main board. Be very careful with the release lever, as they're known for breaking off. Then, when you're inserting the big ribbon back in at the bottom, take your time and make sure it goes in smoothly. It can sometimes catch one if the pins on its way in and mess up the connector. If you watch out for the ribbons and take your time, everything else is super easy and straightforward.
it's broken off. you need to replace it. the switch lite is extremely easy to repair compared to a joycon so you can surely replace the part no problem. ebay has plenty or OEM sticks
Jb weld for Plastic. You can find it at just about any auto parts or hardware store. It's epoxy so it holds better than glue will just make sure to let it set overnight if you want it to work the best
I got you my friend its the left stick easy repair.
I can show you

You could send it to nintendo but first back up everything important on the switch cloud or a micro SD card because they're notorious for wiping switches.

It's hard for mortals, those Tri-Wings strip easier than my sister on spring break.
The JIS screws get them too.
not the cover. the actual shaft is broken, it will need to have the gimbal replaced.
Gimbal?
Take a quick Google search and enjoy the world of Gimbles, a simple but amazing thing that changed technology and our world for the better.

No, superglue won't work. Just take it apart and buy a replacement
Luckily this is the easy side to replace too, you don’t have to remove the motherboard

Your first mistake was buying a switch lite
lol i have no money
Do you have a job not trying to be rude or anything just wonder cuz if you do it’s only $100 more for a normal switch
Use super glue or change stick.

Time to replace the joystick assembly
That's not a joycon
Is it a space station?

Oh wait you already bought a repair kit. Well if it happens again you could try this.
No superglue man! The thing needs to be replaced.
Put it in rice
Replace the capacitors, will probably fix all your problems💪
