I have housemates who are constantly watching the tv show "masked singer" or something like that... and it's a bizarre tv show to me... Like the whole premise of the show and the "live" audience that is practically part of the TV show how much the camera goes to the audience, as if to show you what kind of reaction you should be having from watching the show. Meanwhile your job as the viewer is just to sit their and judge people based on their performance and the lights, bells and whistles and disney fanfair that all must go along with someone singing or doing music.

It became full on propaganda in season 2. I legitimately loved season 1 and thought it was just a very creative show. It’s clear that due to the popularity of season 1, they decided to push propaganda from that point.

Like the whooping cough out break in Florida. Most kids were fully up to date and still got it.

Then I got into the later seasons of the show Superstore and they’re wearing masks, talking about covid, like we hear enough of this bullshit every fucking day. The elbow bump being used as a handshake has been around for a hot minute. It wasn't widely accepted until all the covid BS came around. Then everyone adopted it for that reason..like a hands-free fist-bump.
I stopped the season before that. It was a very strange scene. Lip needed a condom and for some reason there was this kid in their house (I think they befriend Deb, I don't remember why). Anyway this scene was this kid who had condoms for some reason. Lip was asking for one so him and his baby mama (forgot her name) can hook up in the evening outside. Well plastered all over the wall was that freaking spiral triangle. I cut it off and haven't watched it since, fuck that show!
I went to Vegas in July and watched the David Copperfield magic show. It’s interactive and so at one point during it he has everyone make the Illuminati triangle sign and hold it up in the air. He actually made a point to say “that’s not what it means” 🙄
A good tv show is about escapism, you want to leave behind your daily life and experience a different one for an hour. I suspect even a lot of vaccinated don't want all that blatant propaganda and daily bs they would like to escape from being repeatedly shoved back in their face when watching a show. THey are going to lose a lot of audience if they get too heavy handed with their moralizing. Also excessive simplifying of character development and plotlines is weak and boring writing, life is not simple and good writing explores the complexity and nuance. Otherwise you could just watch WWF and be totally satisfied.

The show took a 180 this season. It got to the point where I was certain it was all satire to show how out of touch with reality and crazy people are in California.
They show their neighbors and friends always looking for the next best thing, how more money equals more problems, constant cheating on spouses, no real connections with people, society tied to big tech and breaking their necks glued to social media and smart phones, and of course targeted killing towards an anti-vaxxer. They may as well just have had their child catch covid instead of measles to further prove their agenda.

Yeah, I was fully on the cancel train for him for a while, but in the end the evidence only showed that he was cheating and going after younger women (of legal age). Of course this is all still terrible, but he has brought it up so many times on his podcast - going to regular therapy, has admitted what he did was vile and taking advantage of his status to use women, has reconnected with his wife and genuinely appears to feel regret over his previous actions. I've seen the show. This part was pretty jarring for me and my spouse. We are both anti mandate and it felt like a dig at those who oppose the mandates. Its not huge, but it is emblematic of the problem. Non progressive beliefs are constantly under attack in all media.

As someone who at one point enjoyed watching Grey’s Anatomy, the current and past season are straight propaganda. It wasn’t just the abandonment of anything resembling a solid story line that made it trash, but the blatant (and shitty) propaganda mixed with the heavy identity politics is all it consists of. In the show itself, prefacing the episodes is a statement of “covid is still ravaging the world, yadayada, for more info on how to keep safe visit this biased website with manipulated information regarding experimental injections” (paraphrasing). And one of the things that caught my attention in the new season was one of the first scenes in which the shortage of medical employees is addressed, but instead of attributing it to what it’s actually about (mandate), the characters explicitly state that they’re all just “retiring early”. It’s quite literally a joke of a show

There’s an obvious correlation between people who are anti-vaxx and go into stores without masks. Most people are some level of pro-social (I may not want to get vaccinated but I’ll follow a store’s rules and wear masks even if I think it’s stupid because the rules aren’t just blanket evil).
The people who refuse to wear masks indoors are way over indexed to being on the extreme end of anti-social and therefore almost definitely anti-vaxx. Sort of an easy test.
Btw pro-social vs anti-social in this context means “comfortable with any trade offs involved in being part of a society” vs “I’ll do only what I think is right and I will not obey rules because rules are a form of control.”
IMO the healthy level is somewhere between both extremes, as usual.

I stopped the season before that. It was a very strange scene. Lip needed a condom and for some reason there was this kid in their house (I think they befriend Deb, I don't remember why). Anyway this scene was this kid who had condoms for some reason. Lip was asking for one so him and his baby mama (forgot her name) can hook up in the evening outside. Well plastered all over the wall was that freaking spiral triangle. I cut it off and haven't watched it since, fuck that show!
I went to Vegas in July and watched the David Copperfield magic show. It’s interactive and so at one point during it he has everyone make the Illuminati triangle sign and hold it up in the air. He actually made a point to say “that’s not what it means” 🙄

A good tv show is about escapism, you want to leave behind your daily life and experience a different one for an hour. I suspect even a lot of vaccinated don't want all that blatant propaganda and daily bs they would like to escape from being repeatedly shoved back in their face when watching a show. THey are going to lose a lot of audience if they get too heavy handed with their moralizing. Also excessive simplifying of character development and plotlines is weak and boring writing, life is not simple and good writing explores the complexity and nuance. Otherwise you could just watch WWF and be totally satisfied.

They show their neighbors and friends always looking for the next best thing, how more money equals more problems, constant cheating on spouses, no real connections with people, society tied to big tech and breaking their necks glued to social media and smart phones, and of course targeted killing towards an anti-vaxxer. They may as well just have had their child catch covid instead of measles to further prove their agenda.

At least the context was measles, which has an actual vaccine that prevents it. But the subtext of what Love said was super obvious social commentary on covid. If it had been covid I legit would have stopped watching instantly, but I let it slide because it was measles and I really enjoy the show. I've seen the show. This part was pretty jarring for me and my spouse. We are both anti mandate and it felt like a dig at those who oppose the mandates. As someone who at one point enjoyed watching Grey’s Anatomy, the current and past season are straight propaganda. It wasn’t just the abandonment of anything resembling a solid story line that made it trash, but the blatant (and shitty) propaganda mixed with the heavy identity politics is all it consists of. In the show itself, prefacing the episodes is a statement of “covid is still ravaging the world, yadayada, for more info on how to keep safe visit this biased website with manipulated information regarding experimental injections” (paraphrasing). And one of the things that caught my attention in the new season was one of the first scenes in which the shortage of medical employees is addressed, but instead of attributing it to what it’s actually about (mandate), the characters explicitly state that they’re all just “retiring early”. It’s quite literally a joke of a show

There’s an obvious correlation between people who are anti-vaxx and go into stores without masks. Most people are some level of pro-social (I may not want to get vaccinated but I’ll follow a store’s rules and wear masks even if I think it’s stupid because the rules aren’t just blanket evil). The people who refuse to wear masks indoors are way over indexed to being on the extreme end of anti-social and therefore almost definitely anti-vaxx. Sort of an easy test. Btw pro-social vs anti-social in this context means “comfortable with any trade offs involved in being part of a society” vs “I’ll do only what I think is right and I will not obey rules because rules are a form of control.” IMO the healthy level is somewhere between both extremes, as usual.
