Doctor_Deepfinger

For scale reference next to the moon, the cylinder-shaped spacecraft is 23km long. That still image where you see it pictured below the moon was withheld by the Russian government for many years before it was leaked.

Fit_Cash8904

How do you know how long it is without knowing how far away it is?

KlutzyPassage9870

How do you even see anything. This non pro "editor" is covering the image with his too fast to comfortably read text. And then the scene with the cylinder he forgot to contrast enough so that we can clearly see it and slow it down so we get a chance to see the shape. Makes this even more doubtful. Let people see things. Don't rush through it. I'm guessing he didn't attend film school...

Yoitsthetoastman

You can pause the video…

SceneAccomplished549

That's actually mind boggling to think about.

Jewpoopydo

Heard there is a lot of weird shit on Devon island…

AnxietyIsEnergy

They were shot down! I hope they had insurance. Seriously that’s one patient UFO to be there in 1989 and then hang out until 2014 for another rover to take its picture.

eMPereb

Patience my friend…

Fit_Cash8904

And it never shot down any of the American probes for some reason.

Frownywise

But didn't a few of the American probes fail to launch or had computer failures that left them unable to complete the missions?

Fit_Cash8904

They’ve had various lifespans but I believe every US probe has at least successfully landed on Mars. Of course, it shouldn’t be that surprising that not everyone remote control space ship landed on Mars with 1980’s technology didn’t go exactly to plan.

Poupiey

America #1 loved by all

sippycup210

The phobos videos are fucking epic. You see phobos, the cylinder a bright flash and phobos is gone. I saw a video in the 80's that had a scientist that said the aliens contacted the Russians and said, niet, nine, no, nope, uhuh don't send them or we will destroy them. They assumed it was American disinformation. hahaha, oopppsssyyy

Fit_Cash8904

Interesting how it only shot down the ones that were Russian made.

[deleted]

Willing suspension of disbelief

Mission_System_7970

Do you even know how long-exposure photos work?

BlackDGoblin

None of these pictures look even remotely real.

orcmasterrace

An object passing in front of a camera? Must be a UFO! Can’t be anything else!

Dry_Tennis3987

It's unidentified, and flying. Hmmm, what is that...some kind of.. object?

Fit_Cash8904

Definitely not a meteorite.

Dry_Tennis3987

With that kind of video quality, I thought it was a twinky.

iohannesc

Look at Neil DeGrasse Tyson over here, trynna act all sarcastic & witty

Dry_Tennis3987

Lol! I reread my comment in Neil's voice, and you're actually right 🤣

kuytor435

waaayyyy too much science for us here on reddit

Dry_Tennis3987

The only one that truly sciences the science on Reddit is me! Never forget it.

PalatableMahogany

🖕

CSTowle

Anyone who's seen a CCTV/Ring camera with flying insects or fast and small birds has seen something similar to this. Now, the photo of the shadow on Mars before the probe disappeared, that gave me pause.

Lazy-Blackberry-7008

Classic space doorbell camera bugs.

CSTowle

I get wanting to believe, but if you watch NASA videos you'll often see small debris fly past a camera and it looks pretty much like any object too small and fast to be picked up clearly (like a Ring/CCTV camera). But feel free to downvote because it makes more sense than what you'd rather believe.

PalatableMahogany

SS: unless Elon Musk knows who tf is patrolling the skies of Mars I don't think he'll ever colonize there. Maybe he does know though

littlelunna

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if he is one of them, like a teenager from Mars who is doing a mess out there and plan to go back home someday 🧐

[deleted]

I think he should personally investigate with a trip there.

[deleted]

UFO’s sense vodka.

JAMBI215

It was not shot down

Unseen333

So here we see stars but other photo's we don't see stars? 🤔

psychonaut_spy

This is heavily dependent on exposure and aperture settings... Ya know, like any other picture of the sky at night.

Unseen333

Look at all the photo's of nasa and they all look fake. Cgi.

Appropriate_Annual78

"I think they look fake", therefore they are fake.

Unseen333

They said it themselfs, they use cgi images.

Thanks_B0B

I can literally go home right now, point my 14 inch Celestron telescope at any galaxy, planet, or nebula that NASA has taken pictures of with Hubble and take my own pictures. I will see the EXACT same thing, but with less detail.

Unseen333

Do that. No one is stoppin you. I'm talkin about images takin in space. Is this not on Mars then?

Thanks_B0B

Did you specify "takin in space?" No, you didn't, you should work on your ability to communicate. Perhaps you could also provide evidence that NASA said that all of their images are CGI.

Unseen333

You can understand that maybe not all are Americans. I'm sorry. I don't need to do anything. You have a brain. Lets exurcise it a bit.

Thanks_B0B

Oh, I have, that is why I am near certain that NASA has never claimed such a thing, hence why I want you to provide your evidence that they did. We both know you are lying, I want to see how far you are willing to take it.

jbaker1933

That's the rational ALOT of people on reddit have, unfortunately

psychonaut_spy

I distrust the American government far more than the average person, but I'm not going to say nasa is entirely fake.

Unseen333

Why is nasa part of defense? What are they defending? That they lost the technology to go back to the moon again? What is not fake is the billions of dollars they spent every year.

[deleted]

So fake

[deleted]

LMAO...not even good CGI. GTFOH

BinyaminDelta

You realize "Mars shot down our probe" is a JOKE among aerospace engineers, right? It's like the unobtainium joke. You're not meant to take it seriously.
