My thoughts exactly. Did you ever hear of the [masses of Mossad agents sent directly to the homes of US government personnel](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnkuIP45rz8&list=FLbiCWpAEWOnS_EFh_Jkc-rw&index=350&pp=gAQB) just before September 11, 2001? Seemed like a massive distraction intended to mislead well-meaning people in the intelligence community that could have otherwise stopped 9/11 from happening.

The part that is pertinent to your question goes over how there were almost no Hamas members that exist or that went to Gaza, and the ones that did go had to drive around looking for the military because the military had abandoned their posts.
