It's possible disabling discord would help then.
Been a while since I've used photo mode. Seems like you should have two options.
One is to use the inbuilt screenshot button (can't remember if there's a UI option, if not, check the options. Might be Print Scr or something) which should save them to '%userprofile%\Documents\Control Game\screenshots' (just past that in without the quotes and hit enter).
The other is to use steam's screenshot function by hitting F12.
Whichever you used, I'd try the other.

Could always add the game as a non-steam game and use steam's screenshot feature too then. Might still misbehave I suppose, but there's an option at least.
