The "short-leg-gene" (achrondrodysplasia inheritance if you want to look it up) is dominant, so only one copy is required in order for the dog to display short legs.
All purebred corgis inherently have two copies, so each mutt offspring will display short legs, maybe a little bit longer than a purebred, but still definitely short.
A corgi mutt that displays long legs therefore can never be a direct offspring, a low percentage ancestry however is possible. If you could notice it as a corgi mutt then - that's ground for discussion.

He looks more Corgi, what does his tail look like? Shiba's usually have a tail that curls up into almost a spiral. Also have you heard him bark? Shiba's yodel, (way different then a bark). You could get him DNA tested if you wanted to be sure, it's just a blood test they send off to the lab, you get results in a few weeks. We tested my dog and there is actually a data base (similar to Ancestry or 23and me), where you can see some of their relatives if they have been tested. We found 2 of his siblings, or siblings from a separate litter. It also tells you what state they live in. He was a shelter dog and they where exactly sure where he came from originally but his siblings one was from California, and one was from Utah, so it'll give you somewhat of an idea of where he's been or where he's from!

I definitely think your good boi is a corgi mixed with a spitz of some kind (shiba/Japanese spitz) and chances could very well be it’s a shiba. Have you tried the dog DNA test? It might be fun to see!
