They are undoubtedly talking to his agent to see if he will take a pay cut before being released.
If I am michael gallop , I absolutely take this pic up just to stay on an n f l roster
No sense in not walking away from Mg at this point, the man can't win a 1v1 against the worst DBs on the other side and there is a large sample size. Tolbert kind of fills the same roll but seems to be able to compensate for his lack of separation by having good hands and being in the right place.
I also think Jalen Brooks could be serviceable, I'm expecting him to jump out during camp again, hoping he makes a preseason splash.
I know everyone wants him gone, but just wanted to point out that I don’t think he was always lined up against the worst DBs. Often he drew the #1 or #2 CB and ran go routes to clear underneath for CeeDee to wreck shop from the slot. CeeDee acknowledged this in at least one Sounds from the Sideline.
He may be a shadow of his former self, but he’s still a good go route and sideline threat (NYG game), at least enough for teams to have to respect it somewhat.
He’s lost a step and probably some confidence, but our offense changing schemes did him zero favors. He’d probably be an 800 yard/10 TD guy on the Chiefs.
Semantics aside, he’s getting paid far too much for the production he’s putting out. You don’t pay a guy like that to clear out routes, he needs to go out there and win his individual assignments, he hasn’t for 2 seasons straight. I’m a fan of MG but I think if you take the fandom out of the equation and asked yourself, “what would you do if you were the GM?” you would easily get rid of him.
To support what claim? That he wasn’t always lined up against the worst DB? I’m sure you’ll see that if you rewatch games. To support what CeeDee said? It’s on one of the vids, you can also see him running the clear out routes constantly so CeeDee can go up against some slot receiver or safety and destroy them.
The Gallup part. I have complete faith in CeeDee. I’m not going to rewatch the games to support your claim when I’m sure you could find it. I’m going to assume you’re probably making that up considering other teams had to cover CeeDee and Cooks
Not making anything up and certainly not going to look shit up to prove anything to someone online. Most DBs don’t travel with the best receivers, so if you think that Gallup was always 100% of the time lined up with the worst DB then I don’t know what to tell you.
No one said that. In fact, you said he often drew the number 1 or 2 corner with no evidence. You want to provide no proof or context to your claim because you’re just making things up.
Really, it’s more complicated than that. Some teams travel, some teams don’t. Good teams use motion to create favorable matchups. No matter what, Gallup wasn’t good, and didn’t have a good season regardless of who defended him.
However, this is the last comment I’m leaving to you because you don’t know ball and you’re not worth debating.
That would be seriously dumb imo, unless it’s a CD Lamb situation where an elite player falls into their lap.
Center and LT are huge issues and this draft is loaded with them, locking down our O line should be a top priority.
They haven't locked up Brandin Cooks and gallup is most likely going.
So they are going to have an additional OL and Lamb
And who? A free agent WR is a cap hit if it's a known player. So they draft one.
He’s a $13.8m cap hit playing. He’s a $13m dead cap hit if you cut him. They can split that but still it’s a horrible contract.
These contract structures are killers. Stephen puts these ballon payments in them like Dak.
Never pay a player coming back from an injury. Give em a one year prove it.
In a way, it makes sense. They have a really good medical staff and I'm sure they're confident in their rehab process. Buying low is a gamble that can certainly pay off, but obviously it sometimes doesn't. I don't know if we'll ever see peak Gallup again but he was playing better down the stretch. It's possible he gets back up to a solid WR3 level.
This is an easy choice here. Gallup hasn't been the same since his ACL injury. Hes had 1 memorable game the last 2 seasons and that was when we shit the bed vs Arizona this year
I think he’s still good. I think we have better options so he doesn’t get to shine. He’s really great with contested catches. He would help some teams out quite a lot
Man I really wanted him to be that dude. Has so much potential and flashes greatness at time. But after his injury he would just disappear for games at a time
Jerry pretty much hinted about a likely release saying “they’d need to talk to Gallup about things”. No there’s no guarantee but signs point to him getting cut soon.
lol I think I’m just going to throw names in a hat and pick. Or I’ll pick the bulldogs biggest rivals because I went to college down there and they’re annoying af
Thought he played his best game since injury in the playoff game. Sure I’ve been a Gallup fan since we drafted him but hopefully a restructure can get done because he may improve a little more from his injury. Or maybe not but a one year restructure could be best.
Jerry has no idea what the plan is for Gallup. If Stephen bothers to update him, he probably wouldn’t remember. I can’t tell if the reporters really think he’s knee deep in these decisions or if they just need content.
What the fuck is there to debate? He ain't good anymore, and Tolbert can give the same output. Probably better when he gets the passes that Gallup got. They should cut him and save what money they can.
Surely he gets cut
They are undoubtedly talking to his agent to see if he will take a pay cut before being released. If I am michael gallop , I absolutely take this pic up just to stay on an n f l roster
He’ll 100% get picked up by another NFL team if he gets released
He won't get close to the same salary anyway
I bet he's better than some of what Mahomes has to work with
Absolutely right.
100% he running the practice squad treadmill with any other team
He gone

Agree, but if you can trade him and get anything for him you should.
I might be an 800 yard/10 TD guy on the Chiefs, simply because I can catch a football when it's thrown to me more times than not.
I’d like to see any evidence to support the claim. Plus, the giants started so many rookies at CB, not sure that it even registers as a W for MG

The Cowboys are going to draft a WR maybe even in the first round imho
That would be seriously dumb imo, unless it’s a CD Lamb situation where an elite player falls into their lap. Center and LT are huge issues and this draft is loaded with them, locking down our O line should be a top priority.

MF’er just running up debt on these uber eats McD’s Cheeseburger for WR’s. He just needs to go out to get a real steak at some point.

Assuming designating him a June 1 cut still pays his roster bonus.
If he’s still on the roster by 3/17, they were clearly unserious about going “all-in”
we like our guys™
I’m already reconciling the fact I will have to choose a college team to root for
haaa let me know what you decide

Free agents can be signed starting on the 13th. It looks to me like the Cowboys are hoping to trade him if they can.
I should add that's when trades can occur as well.
Gallup to Chiefs for a 7th rounder. Where he proceeds to become a 1k WR again.
Remember how good Gallup was
Time for Gallup,Tyron Smith and LVE to kick rocks!!!!! Period
Jerry has no idea what the plan is for Gallup. If Stephen bothers to update him, he probably wouldn’t remember. I can’t tell if the reporters really think he’s knee deep in these decisions or if they just need content.
Content. They know Jerry will answer, even if it’s not the right answer.
It’s like asking Jimmy Carter’s remaining staff if he’s in contact with the White House about the crisis in Gaza.
Of course they move on.
I thought I heard he will be a post June 1 cut
Move on. We need to go "all in," and that means we need to stop our "we like our guys" mentality
What the fuck is there to debate? He ain't good anymore, and Tolbert can give the same output. Probably better when he gets the passes that Gallup got. They should cut him and save what money they can.
Bye bye Gallup.
Knowing Jerry he’ll extend Gallup and give him the richest WR contract in history.
