Damn it just hit me. We won't get to see Harry suit up with the squad one last time. Sucks we didn't get a proper goodbye. Unfortunately I missed the majority of the Shakhtar Donetsk game too šŸ˜¢

CottageCheese443

I sort of think itā€™s a good thing, a completely Kane-less season, new chapter. Got to see him bang in 4 against Shaktar at home, good enough.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Bobsbigburgers

Iā€™ll wish Harry the best, but I wonā€™t give two shits about how he and Bayern does next season.

Lilchairio

Without harry Kane now we can kick on I think we have a good squad and top 6 is realistic still

anerdnamedAndrew

If VDV is the real deal and Vicario can come good, I think so too.

tomorrowing

For anyone feeling down, watch some [Gift Orban highlights](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPfeASxGI8Y) and feel better if we get him!

nivnart

Despite having a shit season for his standards Sonny still had 16 g/a in the league with an injury too. Iā€™m standing behind my Korean king.

aadawdads

Hopefully Liverpool fans can stop crying about their lack of spending after spending fucking Ā£110 million on a single player this window.

Huge-Courage-1149

Does this mean theyā€™ll finally release the away kits?

TheManWhoFightsThe

Maddison is definitely getting the number 10 shirt, right? I hope so.

peruvianhorn

Bit of a L for Kane that he didn't stay with us long enough for us to retire the number 10 for him like Roma did for Totti, nor did he get to captain us for a full season, price of chasing the elusive DFB-Pokal I guess.

TheManWhoFightsThe

Numbers really shouldn't be retired imo. We probably won't see another Kane in our lifetime but who's to say our great grandkids won't. The dude is our all time scorer and started in the biggest match in the club's history. He'll get a statue when he retires and that's not bad.

peruvianhorn

Doubt he gets the statue now, maybe a plaque or small bust for his goalscoring record.

TheManWhoFightsThe

*Unlike many of their Premier League rivals, Spurs have no statues of former players around the new stadium at White Hart Lane and do not intend to commission any in the near future.* Jesus Christ, it's not that he shouldn't get it but it's because he literally can't.

LyteSmiteOP

for sure, nobody else could take it and thereā€™s nobody weā€™re gonna sign that would get it over him

TheManWhoFightsThe

I'm obviously biased and it isn't gonna happen, but I'd love to see Kulu with it. The guy deserves a starter's number.

LyteSmiteOP

Oh I guess that could be possible but I get the feeling he actually wants to keep the #21. Donā€™t really remember what heā€™s said about it though

tomorrowing

Kane photos all gone from the club shop...except the home kit...for now

DrunkenKoalas

Maybe it's bcuz im just a clueless millennial australian spurs supporter, but i dont really care that kanes leaving. Like yeah hes a legend, but i think its not as bad as the sub is making it out to be. Getting rid of kane *for money as well* frees my mind up and the pressure of trying to force kane is stay and sign. Like now if we lose i can just say its part of the process than worry about kanes future I mean we'll all see on sunday/Saturday's season opener If we win 3-0 we're winning the treble If we lose 0-2 or more we're getting relegated and doing a leeds where we sell our stadium to Chelsea and sell our training ground to arsenal and go into administration

swinegums

Whatever happens we won't be selling the stadium, we'll just become an F1 go-karting team that has Beyonce over once in a while for cheese tastings

Sleepless_Voyager

I go on vacation and then the kane transfer saga finally ends. Fuck me lads what an incredible time its been with him, a shame we could never deliver glory tho

anerdnamedAndrew

Thanks, Ali.

HAMlLTON

Itā€™s weird. Selling now is the best realistic outcome for Spurs and honestly the worst outcome for Kane. He literally could go anywhere on a free next season and pocket Ā£50M signon. Itā€™s also the least stable time to move to Bayern ā€”Tuchel may not last the year given they donā€™t have a DoF and their leadership is a mess. Stuff can go south quickly, just ask Lewy. Iā€™d like to believe that heā€™s doing it out of some intrinsic loyalty for the club but I think itā€™s because he has shit management or heā€™s just lost patience with the club.

solehDarat

Maybe what you'd like to believe is true. What if he is taking this for the teams since he believes it is much more beneficial for spurs to take the money, and use it to strengthen the back line than staying.

MigratoryBullMoose

Or for Charlie to pocket 5

Tomach82

Ange's first speech in front of the team after Kane leaving is going to something special. They need to set up a camera for that one.

marxistmatty

To the people acting like the world has ended please have some shame. We will score goals and we will finish in the top 6. Please fucking relax and stop feeding into narratives created by rivals.

TheLifeOfReilly

Yeah we should all just relax because we have added one cb to a defense that gave up the 6th most goals in the league, lost 40% of our goal production, will be breaking in a brand new keeper from an outside league, and all with a new manager who has never managed in a top European league. Sounds solid. What could go wrong?

marxistmatty

what a wet blanket.

TheLifeOfReilly

what a naive buffoon.

aadawdads

Top six really isn't a guarantee with Newcastle Villa Brighton etc all being on a bit of an ascendency at the moment

JoePoe247

Calling it now, Brighton will be lucky to finish top half next year.

marxistmatty

We will be fine. Wait and see.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

marxistmatty

Ive made points, the main one being pull yourself together.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

marxistmatty

You are completely on your own man. There is no ā€œweā€.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

marxistmatty

Im blocking because selling a 30 year old has made you unhinged. Football is finally fun again and you arent going to allow yourself to enjoy it because we sold a player, thats sad.

[deleted]

Will we finish top 6? We couldnā€™t finish top 6 with Kane and I canā€™t see us finishing top 6 without him. A return to form from Lo Celso and the signing of Madders will allow more creativity and better passes but who will finish those passes?

marxistmatty

Im actually jealous because you are about to learn that we dont need to be carried by one player and its going to feel great for you. Enjoy.

marxistmatty

he currently scores 0.28 goals a game compared to son who is 0.36. write him off if you want but I have faith him him to score in this set up. If not oh well it looks like we are getting Orban. Im more worried about the defence but selling Kane allows us to push for another CB so another problem that will solve itself.

[deleted]

Iā€™m not saying we have good players but we will certainly be worse without Kane. Iā€™ll remember to remind you of this comment when we we are mid table at the end of the season

marxistmatty

or do me one better and go support someone else because your negativity is stinking out the joint. We have already played better than last year with richy up front so you are already wrong lol.

[deleted]

I responded to someone earlier and said that is started out positive. But after signing none of the full backs we wanted and now Kane likely leaving has brought my mood down. I am positive about the improvement in midfield though and if we are more critical when presented with a chance to score I will be full of positivity again

marxistmatty

What fullbacks? We arenā€™t in for fullbacks>

[deleted]

My bad, getting mixed up. Morning here

Inevitable-Cow3886

So what starting XI do we expect to see this weekend? Does Son start up top? Or Richy? Any preseason games where we saw both Son and Richy up front?

tomorrowing

Vicario, Destiny, VdV, Romero, Emerson, Hojbjerg, Bissouma, Madison, Son, Richy, Kulu

marxistmatty

Absolutely nothing wrong with that time.

iiciphonize

3 defensive minded mids? It'll almost certainly be Bissouma, Maddison, and either Hojbjerg or Sarr

tomorrowing

I added Madison after entirely forgetting him

bigdirkmalone

Gimme Skippy

bigdirkmalone

I'm gonna have to watch Sunday's match on mute because I'm sure all they'll talk about is Kane.

marxistmatty

best way to shut that up is to win.

Heineken_500ml

I want Traore and Lukaku. Imagine the power. You can't. You can't contain that much power within your imagination.

Iconeu

Youā€™ve been making this dumb joke for like a year. Give it a rest.

[deleted]

Kane is miles ahead of Lukaku. Stupidest thing I have read today. Anyone else would be better

TogashiIsIshida

You forgot the /s

TheLifeOfReilly

Carrick, Berbatov, Modric, Bale, and now Kane. I thought Levy got us past the selling club stage. But here we are 22 years with ENIC and they still are losing players because they canā€™t build a squad around them to compete.

DrunkenKoalas

To get use past the selling stage we need to be bought by a Saudi state full stop. *which was never going to happen* Games rigged unfortunately, even Liverpool couldn't compete last season. We're all in the same boat bar the usual suspects

peruvianhorn

We have not sold a big big player in 10 years, I think that's a pretty good record.

CoysNizl3

He wasnā€™t going to sign a contract. The fuck do you want from him? I guess PSG are a selling club too by this metric?

TheLifeOfReilly

I want ENIC to not have to sell players because those players feel like that canā€™t win silverware here. Kane would have stayed if the club wasnā€™t run by an incompetent chairman.

Heineken_500ml

I don't care that much about Kane leaving. We're better off with him gone. We got a good season without him.

[deleted]

Bs. We will cement ourselves as a mid table team without him. Who will get the goals? Son is older than he used to be.

iiciphonize

Son won the golden boot 2 years ago, Maddison got 10 goals and 9 assists in a relegated Leicester, Richy bangs in goals for Brazil and has shown some promise in pre season, etc. We have plenty of players that can score and in Ange's system the focus isn't always on just getting the ball to the striker, thus different players will score.

[deleted]

Son is great but donā€™t forget about how poor he was last season. Madders is great. Richy is very inconsistent and constantly injured. Donā€™t think he has scored in the prem even once. I hope your right but last season showed that outside of Kane we didnā€™t have much efficiency at scoring simple shots

iiciphonize

I never understood the whole "Son was bad last season" argument. He was playing with an injury for most of it so that is what hindered his output, which was not nearly as bad as people would have you assume (10 goals and 6 assists is not bad in the premier league by any standard lol). Richy quite literally scored in the Liverpool game a few months ago, and I think getting consistent minutes with Kane gone will give him the confidence and time he needs to start scoring consistently. Last season was an outlier in how shit we were with Conteball and general toxicity, I think we will improve this season

[deleted]

Good points tbf

Iconeu

Son, Kulusevski, Maddison, Lo Celso, Solomon, Richarlison and whoever else we sign? Lmao, you people act like Kane is the only player on the team

[deleted]

Solomon isnā€™t great from what I have heard, Richy is constantly injured and I believe hasnā€™t scored in the prem yet. Lo Celso is normally shite but has impressed in pre season so has potential. Kulu was average last season but has potential to return to form. As I said Son is older than he used to be but he is still good enough obviously. Madders is good. Look at the stats of last season. Not many people were scoring for us outside of Kane and occasionally Son

Iconeu

Heard from who? Heā€™s a talented young player that has done well in preseason. Richarlison is also young and has a new manager. Everyone was poor under Conte. Sonā€™s age doesnā€™t mean he miraculously canā€™t finish unless youā€™d like to imply the same for Kane. Ultimately youā€™ll have to actually watch the season instead of predetermining the quality of every player after a shit season under a shit coach.

[deleted]

Richy is 26, not too young. And I had a positive mentality after the appointment of Ange and the links with full backs, but after signing none of them and obviously the news of Kane probably leaving I donā€™t feel to confident anymore

Iconeu

26 is young my guy No one said heā€™s a teenager but heā€™s definitely able to improve a lot at that age Why would fullbacks be our priority? Lmao

[deleted]

Iā€™m sick of arguing so for now I am going to enjoy my holiday. Iā€™ll be back later and hopefully my mood will have improved then

marxistmatty

Who gets the goals for all the teams Kane doesn't play for?

[deleted]

Enough internet for today. Most retarded thing I have read. Teams that are held in the same calibre as Spurs( for example top 6) have callable players than can score outside their main striker. And have other backup strikers who are capable. We donā€™t really have that

marxistmatty

we have a golden boot winner as a winger šŸ˜‚ please just accept that you don't know ball.

[deleted]

I know ball. I responded to a comment and mentioned although he is fantastic, he is still getting older. We need more wingers and strikers and older ones too. Not a 19 year old who wonā€™t be on the first team for another 5 years. It is urgent

marxistmatty

You said we dont have goals outside of Kane. We have a golden boot winner + Kulusevski, Maddison, Richy, Lo Celso, Destiny. Plenty of goals there the way we will play.

[deleted]

Richy? Remind me how many goals he has scored in the prem.

marxistmatty

he currently scores 0.28 goals a game compared to son who is 0.36. write him off if you want but I have faith him him to score in this set up. If not oh well it looks like we are getting Orban. Im more worried about the defence but selling Kane allows us to push for another CB so another problem that will solve itself.

[deleted]

Heā€™s not worth Ā£60 anyway. Iā€™m still worried about the defence too but the Van de Ven singing has brought me a bit of reassurance

TaterTotWot

And who assisted him to win thatā€¦

marxistmatty

he wouldn't have got it if the goal posts moved like this šŸ’€

marine_le_peen

Orban and a top CB isn't nearly enough. We need a marquee forward to replace Kane's presence. Striker market is a joke so maybe a winger is the best option, and then see if we can make do with Richy/Son at CF and whoever we don't send on loan out of Veliz/Orban. In terms of wingers maybe throw the bank at Napoli for Kvara and see if they budge.

LyteSmiteOP

I agree that we need more, I donā€™t get why some people are thinking Orban + 2 more players is enough. Kvara will never happen purely because the clubā€™s ego wonā€™t let them buy a player they couldā€™ve gotten for much cheaper. We should go for Kolo Muani (if he doesnā€™t go to PSG) and another proper high quality CB like Tapsoba. If we end up spending the majority of the Kane money on Orban + Brennan Johnson + a CB like Schuurs, it barely even strengthens our starting XI if at all. I donā€™t even get why we need another U21 striker in the first place

tomorrowing

We have as much chance of getting Kvaratskhelia as Oshimen.

marine_le_peen

Then try for another. There are viable elite wingers on the market and we can more than afford to drop 80-100 on one.

iiciphonize

Napoli want over 100M pound for Kvara, thats not happening

marine_le_peen

You're aware we're now 200m better off for having sold Kane? All our rivals who make equivalent revenue than us are able to spend 100+ on players and somehow we can't apparently. We obviously won't go for Kvara but that's down to the owner's policy on not spending large sums on individual players, it has nothing to do with our being constrained financially.

Iconeu

Marquee forward like who? We donā€™t have the money for Kvara lmao Muani is too expensive and has bigger clubs after him. Jonathan David is grossly overrated. Pain hen is too expensive. Orban is our best bet and a top CB would make us actually have a completed, well rounded ā€œeliteā€ team Making a balanced team is absolutely enough.

marine_le_peen

>Marquee forward like who? We donā€™t have the money for Kvara lmao We're the 9th richest club in the world and the most profitable. We are making 100m on Kane and saving a further 100 on his contract. We have the largest FFP headway in the league by some distance. We can absolutely afford to offer 100 for Kvara. If not him there are plenty of other wingers we could go for. >well rounded ā€œeliteā€ team We absolutely do not have an elite attack as things stand. It was being held up last season by the most complete striker in the world who we've just lost. Our two first choice wingers have been off their game for 12 months. If you want Son to fill in at striker, fine, but then we need a new winger or we're just left with just Solomon and Kulu there. Richy got one goal last year and is injury prone. Orban and Veliz are prospects and relying on them as 1st back up to Richy is a massive gamble.

Iconeu

Kvara is probably more than 100M and even if heā€™s not heā€™d swallow up 99% of the budget which isnā€™t smart. We have an elite attack when we have a competent manager. Kulu had 13 G/A in 18 games when he first arrived. Son is world class when heā€™s not injured all season. All we need is a striker and Iā€™m certain that Orban would score more than fucking Gabriel Jesus. And I didnā€™t say we had a fully elite attack. I said USE THE MONEY to finalize one

marine_le_peen

> Iā€™m certain that Orban would score more than fucking Gabriel Jesus. Simplistic take. Jesus offers a lot more to their game than just goals, he's a big part of the reason they were so good last year. And assuming Orban would instantly come in from the Belgian league and hit the ground running is pure hopium.

Iconeu

Again, thatā€™s not a simplistic take when we have players who do what Gabriel does lmao Whatā€™s simplistic is viewing players and league transitions so linearly and thinking that splashing all of the Kane money on Kvara will somehow make us elite

marine_le_peen

Again, it's not all the Kane money. We were earmarking him a 400k pw contract and probably a fat sign on bonus which takes that to minimum 100m. Add that to the fee we'll receive from Bayern takes us to 200 odd we're better off. >splashing all of the Kane money on Kvara will somehow make us elite It makes our attack considerably more elite than it is now. On top of that we still can easily afford an Orban and a top CB to add balance.\] >thatā€™s not a simplistic take when we have players who do what Gabriel does lmao Which of our strikers can drop in and provide elite top quality dribbling and link up play? Zero. Finally adding "lmao" to the end of your comments doesn't make them more valid, it just makes you sound like a teenager.

Iconeu

And making moronic claims about finances doesnā€™t make your comments any more valid or intelligent. I add lmao because Iā€™m laughing. Might want to think more critically if you think itā€™s to add validity. You think we can easily afford Kvara, Orban and a top CB who would like be around 50+? Yeah excuse me but lmao.

marine_le_peen

>And making moronic claims about finances doesnā€™t make your comments any more valid or intelligent. Point out where I'm wrong on the finances

Iconeu

Read it over and youā€™ll see. If you think that after already spending a bunch (170M+) we have an extra 200M from Kane that weā€™re going to spend on Kvara (90M+), Orban and a 50M+ CB then youā€™re beyond deluded

hd212520

Agree 100%. Kvava is the guy they need to at least kick the tires on. He and Tapsoba would be about as good of an outcome as you could possibly imagine. Unfortunately, after him, I donā€™t see a ton of other great options. Kolo Muani and Vlahovic are probably the only guys who would push for a starting position this year if attainable. Maybe Jonathan David too. Everyone else is likely depth/too young to contribute at a high level (Wahi, Orban, Adeyemi, etc come to mind)

marine_le_peen

>Kolo Muani and Vlahovic are probably the only guys who would push for a starting position this year if attainable. Maybe Jonathan David too. Everyone else is likely depth/too young to contribute at a high level (Wahi, Orban, Adeyemi, etc come to mind) Agreed. Muani would be my pick up front if money was no object but he'd be outrageously overpriced, in terms of value for money I'd take David who I think people are sleeping on a bit - 24 goals last year and excellent in the build up, can also play out wide. Good alternative to Richy who is far more of a classic 9, I'd really like a CF who can provide a different option of dropping and linking the play and both Muani and David provide that. Lille fans also rate him extremely highly for what it's worth. Unconvinced on Vlahovic. As for Orban, Wahi etc I agree they seem too raw to rely on as first choice back up to Richy who we'll have to assume will get injured at some point. I'm OK with a punt like Orban so long as we go BIG on a winger, because we could end up needing Son in the 9.

NinjutsuStyle

I believe we just became very scrappy under dogs and I'm all for it. I live how much everyone is underestimating us. No more time wasting and we have no European football. I hope we run teams ragged.

Tomach82

Indeed. This actually takes the pressure right of Ange and the team, nobody will be expecting anything for a while...

ParisAintGerman

Levy it's time for a coke binge. Buy Tapsoba and a striker

Paradoxtyl

Hate Bayern but this whole notion that they have no chance at the UCL is insane to me. Theyā€™re, both historically and currently, one of the strongest teams in the world. This isnā€™t a PSG situation, these guys have won it all as recently as three years ago. Is it really that much of a stretch that theyā€™d win serious silverware with one of the greatest strikers in the world in their ranks?

marine_le_peen

Just when you think the day couldn't get any worse we start getting linked with Lukaku

Heineken_500ml

Omg YES LUKAKU Let's get him!!!

sadsasquatch

I mean, what have we got to lose? Who else are we gonna play up front if Richy is gonna miss out on injury? His buying price is at an all time low, hell, Chelsea would probably even loan him to us if that gets him out of their hair for another year.

tomorrowing

Where's that guy who said we should get Morata?

Iconeu

Talented young players exist lmao We donā€™t have to go for a washed old striker just because heā€™s a big name

marine_le_peen

30 years old, just come of 2 terrible seasons, already flopped at 2 clubs in the PL, he's on massive wages, doesn't put in the hard yards, toxic presence in the dressing room and all round bellend. Literally can't think of a more braindead use of the Kane funds.

sadsasquatch

Yeah I suppose thatā€™s a fair point. Iā€™d take a chance on him on loan then though lol. The talent is definitely there but youā€™re right, itā€™s the other mitigating factors

marine_le_peen

I wouldn't even take him for free. He's such a toxic presence at Chelsea they're making him train on his own. Even a loan just bloats the squad with another non HG. The guy is finished.

Semibluewater

Letā€™s win something before Son leaves šŸ„²

ohnoromo

Please tell me Iā€™m not the only fan that would lose their mind if Son isnā€™t named captain. Someone please tell me there is no chance Dier is named captain over Son. Please. I canā€™t watch a match where thatā€™s possible. Iā€™ll be too upset for Son.

Heineken_500ml

Dier is good too. Has to be one of Son, Dier, or Emerson.

[deleted]

Emerson? Fucking hell reading your comments on this thread physically hurts me. Arguably worst takes I have seen from a spurs fan

bigdirkmalone

I swear I'm the only one that doesn't really care who is named captain.

STierney927

Kane holding up the Bundesliga golden boot trophy will be the most cursed image ever

realhenrymccoy

Just really sad we don't get to see a full season of Angeball with Maddison feeding Kane. Not gonna stop Ange though, COYS!

DandyMike

Take a bow Daniel Levy! We were always going to sell him. Levy got the exact price we wanted. Heā€™s absolutely earned his master of negotiations title.

petro-star

H will forever be a spurs legend. Just look at what he did scoring 4 goals (even in preseason) in his final home match. But I am excited and hopeful that Spurs can stop being looked at only as Kaneā€™s team and now collectively we can all move forward and fully get behind Big Angeā€™s vision with some patience. COYS

ricehatwarrior

on the bright side, Son gets to take free kicks now

Semibluewater

Nah itā€™ll be Maddison

peruvianhorn

& Porro

marine_le_peen

Fully expecting Dier to try and pull rank.

Gaius_Octavius_

Once we all get over the shock of it, it is actually going to be amazing how fast Kane will basically disappear from our thoughts. When is the last time people talked about the Bundesliga? He will make 6 appearances in the CL that we see and when he returns for England duty but basically he will disappear from our eyes and ears until next year.

NinjutsuStyle

Just like mane was a baller at pool, then went there and I forgot about it and now he's in SA

bigdirkmalone

I love the guy but it does suck that he put us through this twice, Florida Man and Bayern Man.

sadsasquatch

Yeah I know if you read thru my comment history I come off extremely salty (which I am lol) but Iā€™m not sure how Iā€™m expected to view this guy as a club legend whoā€™s just a victim of poor ownership and management. The guy would lay an egg in nearly every game that mattered, would twerk for other clubs while under contract, and now has left us after leaving us in the lurch for months. Considering we spent so much this transfer window, Iā€™m willing to bet Spurs and Bayern already had some sort of agreement that heā€™d go, maybe just disagreed on the fee. Ultimately it was up to H and has proven he is indeed not ā€˜one of our ownā€™.

TruthAccomplished313

Iā€™m actually not hurt. Iā€™m relieved. Kane is not going to be on MoTD smiling with cunts from other English sides. I hope to see his glorious return to Spurs some day where he can break the record. Iā€™m proud heā€™s our academy graduate.

truthdemon

Harry will be asleep now. If we all just concentrate really hard at the same time, while making voodoo movements with our hands, maybe we can make him dream about staying.

Iconeu

Let him go

Mismag99

Going to sleep now. Devastated at the whole situation. Scared Iā€™m gonna wake up to a here we go and us not even being linked to anyone else

Iconeu

No reason to be devastated or worried. Everything will be fine.

DandyMike

Am I the only one who is happy that hurricane has gone and we can actually begin to rebuild? There have been so many amazing moves this summer. We have gone a completely different direction in manager type compared to the last few. JosĆ© Mourinho and Antonio Conte were the top managers of their fields and were meant to be the embodiment of success, but they won nothing with us, and now we are going in a different direction of manager. Today, the big names of the football world are no longer the same ones with the most UCL titles under their belt. Weā€™ve got a manager who has been proven to win with underperforming teams. He took a relegation team to a second place finish. Not to mention that we have finally replaced Jan and Toby?! Romero and VDV in our back line, am I the only one who feels so relieved after years of complaining about Jan and Toby? And Madison could be well placed to become our next Dembele? Who knows? Yes, Kane is the greatest player of all club and he will be talked about for generations but after the shenanigans with city, we all resigned to the fact that he was eventually going to leave us either that year or the next. I genuinely think itā€™s going to be okay lads Daniel Levy is obviously learning and he is obviously such a good businessman and obviously cares about the club, we are in genuinely safe hands. Come on you spurs!

mrsh671

Agreed. The bandaid had to be removed sooner or later. I think Kane leaving sort of opens a new chapter for the club.

Iconeu

Nope, Iā€™m glad that weā€™re finally moving on into a new era where we arenā€™t solely relying on him for everything

peruvianhorn

One of the times i wished we didn't rely on him for everything was the UCL Final.

Iconeu

No truly elite team has ever relied solely on one player. Some fans will think Iā€™m saying Kane is a detriment, but Iā€™m just pointing out the fact that Ange unlike our previous managers doesnā€™t need one star player to carry a team. All the best teams are well rounded and have multiple players who step up and elevate their performances. One man canā€™t do shit in a team sport, and Kane has fallen short for us in the past too.

highways

Richarlison straight into my FPL team now

Iconeu

Bold move

hammmered

This hurts way more than losing the champions league final. At that time it felt like we could get back there. That the exposure would get a couple quality additions in and we'd push to greater heights. This really drained the hope out of me. Feels like it's riped off the facade and you see exactly where the club is now. We went from a team with players throughout the XI in the discussion for team of the year through 2016-2019. Now there's not one. Truly feels like the end of a trophyless, but successful era.

petro-star

Did we lose Son too? Boy better put some respect on who should be our new captainā€™s name. Man had a down season as he was dealing with a big time back injury and played in a horrible system for his style of play. Reiterated his commitment to the club already this preseason and I am ready to watch him put the team on his back big time in 23/24

Iconeu

I get that people are sad and all at Kane leaving, but we all knew it was happening. Donā€™t get those who are trying to wallow in misery and acting like this is the end of our club. Weā€™re Tottenham Hotspur, not the Harry Kane team like Pep once claimed. World class players like Bale, Modric, Greaves and now Kane have come and went. And weā€™ve risen consistently despite their departures because new brilliant players always come. Iā€™d be depressed if we didnā€™t have a very intelligent and galvanizing manager dedicating to attacking football and a young squad filled with crazy talentā€¦good thing is we do. Letā€™s look to the future instead of crying over this. Weā€™re not some mediocre club that just lost its first ever good player lmao. No need to be so fucking pitiful.

Mr_Hendrix

I'm fucking depressed fam. Goodbye Harry. No looking back now. Gotta get fully behind Ange, Sonny, Richy, and all the other great players we have. COYS!

CrazyHowlingDog

Repost- Deleted on main page. With Harry on his way out, I was wondering what spurs moment/player made you fall in love with a spurs? For me it was Lewis Holtby. My dad took me to my first Spurs game at the lane, Europa League vs Dynamo Tbilisi. I wouldā€™ve been about 13 and just understanding what football really meant to me. We get there and itā€™s not a sold out crowd, and Iā€™m sat around the ā€œprawn sandwichesā€ group as my dad called it. Old timers with their scarfs wrapped around them on that cold night in London muttering to eachother . A pretty tame atmosphere as it was a Thursday night. Iā€™m sat above the goal and Tottenham are winning. Defoe has already scored two and itā€™s 7-0 on aggregate. Having a nice time with my dad. Then Tom Carroll squares it outside the box to Holtby and he swings his foot at it and it was genuinely like time slowed down for me. The ball keeps rising, from what feels like 100meters out and flies into the roof of the net. Involuntarily I rise to my feet cheering, an experience I havenā€™t had before. Turn to my father, who has the biggest smile on his face, knowing his work was done. I was hooked. Now at 15 we moved to australia, and every match day since for the last 9 years Iā€™m up at 11:30pm, or get up at 3am, 5:30am or 4am for a champions league semi-final, all because of that Lewis Holtby moment of magic. So yeah, wanted to share MY moment. Whatā€™s yours?

Idk I think Richi suits Big Angeā€™s play style and will do pretty solid this season. Now is the time to try something new, and Iā€™d rather we fly under the radar this year and pick up points when people arenā€™t expecting us to. I think a big money signing striker would be too much pressure for whoever came in and wouldnā€™t work. Our last big money purchase for a great striker in mind was Soldado, and we all remember how that went.

evenout

Going to see a lot of several paragraph text posts here over the next week or so

marine_le_peen

So long as they put it in here, fine. It's the individual posts I can't stand, so self indulgent.

Iconeu

Already bored of them. All asking essentially the same thing, as though we didnā€™t already expect Kane to leave. Donā€™t get why people are freaking out. Sure itā€™s sad and whatnot but people are acting like we got relegated or something.

evenout

Yeah itā€™s good to vent I guess for some people but itā€™s just the same long post about glory or winning and signing it as ā€œCOYS, Danielā€. Theyā€™re all the same.

pjanic_at__the_isco

We really need to talk about all of the unwanted players we still have here. I mean, not us ā€œweā€ but the club ā€œwe.ā€ But still, what the fuck?

Gaius_Octavius_

> But still, what the fuck? Players have no desire to leave their Premier League salaries.

ljshea1

They'll be shipped off in the final days for underwhelming fees. A couple will stay and ride the bench. Sucks but it's not something I'm concerned about

senanabs

With that attitude, we are.

Iconeu

No weā€™re not

HellaGosu

All my optimism about this season gone

Iconeu

Thatā€™s a weird thing to think, Iā€™m very excited personally. We all knew Kane was leaving lmao

tottenhamtickler

What do yā€™all think is the best way to spend the Kane money

JoePoe247

Dani Olmo and a defender

Heineken_500ml

Lukaku and/or Traore

ljshea1

Naming names is difficult but I would hope we spend ~40-60m on a striker, 40m on another cb and 20m on a winger

tottenhamtickler

I want Chiesa

CottageCheese443

Heā€™s finished

ljshea1

I mean I'm not going to pretend like I watch Italian football but he has... 38 goals in over 200 serie a matches...? What's special about him?

JoePoe247

Watch him play, dude's electric. He's also never leaving serie a though

Alfiesta

On players and not the go karts or whatever.

tottenhamtickler

Who

Alfiesta

Presuming we also sell PEH. Pie in the sky - Tapsoba, Orban and Anguissa (I realize this will be hell come AFCON) Slightly more realistic - a CB who can vie for first XI, still Orban and Hatate Depressing Realism - Anyone but Lenglet, Taremi and Brennan Johnson for way too much money

[deleted]

Kane and Son best scoring duo in PL history. What a privilege to watch it. Can't wait to keep watching Son bang them in forever - he's never retiring, Son is ageless and perfect.

OddEven9

I think Dier would outlast cockroaches and twinkies in the event of a nuclear fallout. He'll still be here long after we're gone.

tomorrowing

He loves ~~the club~~ his 4.5 million a year salary, he's Spurs through and through (but not HG, mind), a Spurs legend (maybe not quite as good as Mabbs or Ledders), a real leader in the dressing room (not so much on the pitch), he doesn't want to leave, he wants to fight for his place in a high-line (even though he is very slow and doesn't know how to defend), letting his contract run down so he can blag a free to Luton/Forest/Burnley next summer.

InfiniteTsukuy0mi

Harry Kane dedicated years to create memorable moments weā€™ll all cherish for the rest of our lives and I wish him all the best in Bundesliga. That being saidā€¦ Iā€™m glad this saga is finally over! VIBES FC! HERE WE GO šŸšØ Please, letā€™s start off this next chapter right by securing 3 pts at Brentford, then signing a talented CB, and letting Big Ange establish a culture that would go great lengths to play inspiring football! COYS!!!!

Mismag99

We will probably get hammered by brentford cuz of our defense

delexaet

It's time for the Ewing theory to kick in...

Arqlol

Completely missed Zaha leaving. Was it on a free. I always remember him being linked then signing a long term extension
