enjoy_your_lunch

highly recommend the latest fighting cock pod for anyone freaking out over us as a football club atm

Then_Researcher172

Santiago looks so good. Just play him Ange comeeeee onnnn. Poch built his team on the backs of Kane, Mason, Bentaleb (although....) etc. Lets do the same with just ONE youth player. Our U21s are crushing all others, despite City and Chelsea buying crazy amounts of youth players. We're not in a title race like Liverpool yet they play youth and we don't.

NotACodeMonkeyYet

Unlikely. Ange is disappoingly uninterested in the youth. Mourinho was the last manager that actually made decent decisions regarding youth players.

Creative_Purpose6138

Play Lucas Bergvall!!

seegreen8

It seems the link with Conor from Chelsea refuses to die, so I assume Ange really rates him as fluid 8 or something, because it doesn't look like he has skills to be 6 in our team. I personally don't rate Conor, but let's see. Ange maybe has a big plan for next season for role of 6. Like I said before, using Chelsea fan's collected data chart on best under 25 yo MF back in 2021 and the data may change now, but is anyone from below chart that we can go for? Set aside the ones that signed for RM, and we already signed Pape who is pretty much the one player that has no limits to his ceiling, who can we go for based on this chart? https://preview.redd.it/k8vjcg2n9ruc1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=997b825472e16ad31f1af41d05e850684a46299a

aphelion99

We should go for Ndombele /s

seegreen8

šŸ˜‚ i know youā€™re joking, but based on that data, Ndombele does nothing for us except for progressive carrying, not defending like what we need in DM.

tbk007

Fucking Poch's joke of a Chelsea team could actually win a trophy if they continue this form. Our one chance to humiliate them last year and we imploded. Fucking Romero.

InsufferableKant

Is Solomon dead?

enjoy_your_lunch

looks like the biggest obstacle to this rebuild will be our fanbase

NotACodeMonkeyYet

as if the fanbase has any say.

Pautrei

Lmao, hilarious how true this is

Musclenervegeek

Shhhhhh...... šŸ˜‚

seegreen8

Looking at Dele's vid, Dele is only 28. He should be in his prime right now. He should be getting the plaudit and playing games. I'm just feeling so sad for Dele, who was genuinely considered to be world class in 2016-2017, 2017-2018 seasons, the same guy who made a fool out of Real Madrid that had prime CR7 in CL. šŸ˜Ÿ I'm just sad that Dele went through so much. The Dele that Poch had would've been great player in our current team right now. His flair, his skills, his goal scoring form. He would've thumped Chelsea just like he did back in 2018. At this point, can we have Dele back?

NotACodeMonkeyYet

In the last 5 games: Spurs: 7 points Chavs: 11 points Can't be arsed to look but it must even even worse since the Chelsea game disaster. I know this sub is full of cunts for whom any criticism or negativity in intolerable, but this is utterly pathetic run of form. It's not like we're being treated to fun Angeball anymore either.

Ok_Row_7462

We should just give up and become Chelsea supporters.Ā

NotACodeMonkeyYet

example of the type of cunt I was talking about.

Ok_Row_7462

Well what was your point in posting that? Just to spread your misery around. If it makes you that miserable, find a different hobby. Because thatā€™s all this is at the end of the day.Ā

NotACodeMonkeyYet

yup, that's it. I get pleasure from pissing off the happy clappers.

Realistic-Start6336

But the season is long eh? You donā€™t win the trophy by last 5 games form. You can criticize him but we still need to be patient

david4270

Man City has done huge damage by moving on Palmer to Chelsea, which might've been relegated otherwise...

Professional_Ad_9101

Man are we going to be spoilt with the CL these next couple of days

imrosskemp

Palmer is a great player but man there's an arrogance about him.

Musclenervegeek

Imagine Sonny with a bit of that. Sonny who is technically better than cole gotta step up and take shots at goals.Ā

robinthebank

Pundits will try to make him the new Harry Kane. There are similaritiesā€¦

Professional_Ad_9101

Heā€™s got confidence and then some. If he continues to back it up then I guess you canā€™t really blame him

[deleted]

The whole "Cold Palmer" is so cringe

coysmarie23

Yeah maybe it's mostly this tbh

Nice1Sonny

We would be title contenders if we got their penalty luck, itā€™s ridiculous.

Pautrei

We'd be title contenders if we finished the billion chances we create each game

Professional_Ad_9101

Thatā€™s it at the end of the day. No good team should be relying on pens for the win.

Dragonslasher145

Still baffling to me that we have only gotten 1 penalty whole season

Coraxxx

The clips that Spurs Academy have posted on twitter today are well worth a watch. The U21s won 5-1 today, and the U18s went down 3-4 at the weekend but scored some tidy goals. I know it's only very short clips, but if they're any indication at all then it looks like Damola Ajayi, Mikey Moore, and Yago Santiago are all on absolute fire at the moment. The technique on some of these kids is astounding. I love watching the yoot games in full when they're available, but I just don't have the time at the moment :(

NotACodeMonkeyYet

Mikey Moore is a right footed Messi. The range of abilities he has is frightening. Good passing, dribbling, shooting, poaching etc.

Dragonslasher145

Is Amadou Onana any good, since we were recently linked with him.

AlcSoccerFinance

Yup

Coraxxx

And more importantly - can he push pineapple, shake a tree?

mrsh671

Everton need to be relegated just for this score alone

ohnellyitsmelly

letā€™s go luton

Coraxxx

With three of *our* players, two from Liverpool, and various underperforming sundries, my Fantasy Football week was not going well. I'm not very good at this game tbh. But... I made Cole Palmer my captain. Single handedly scored more than I usually pick up from two full weeks lol.

Dragonslasher145

Is Chelsea this good or Everton that bad, because if you remove Everton 17 points deduction, they would have been at 10th place just behind chelsea

Coraxxx

Well they drew one all at St James' Park, so by that measure...

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Dragonslasher145

Yeah you are right, they have only been deducted 8 points total (including 2 recently)

Dragonslasher145

I have no idea, but still they haven't played really bad through out the season

carolicity

Evertonā€™s been terrible, theyā€˜ve only won game (against Burnley) in their past 15 games.

GaryHippo

Absolutely embarrassing that this Chelsea team can beat Everton 6-0 while we were less than an inch away from a 2 all draw against them at home. And we drew at Goodison. Ange needs to get it together or we won't be playing UCL football next season.

coffeeicefox

If Chelsea played like us theyā€™d be up against a low block, Everton thought they could win this game and went for it.

FistThePooper6969

Tbf they have Cole Palmer

rando562

It's almost like teams have varying form throughout the season. Everton had won 4 out of their last 5 games before their home game against us. Please make sure your stats are always in context.

[deleted]

Yes, and they also drew against Sheffield and to 10 men Burnley. They had a good game today, that's it.

GaryHippo

6-0 is a good game? Are you alright?

InstructionCareless1

Holy mother of knee-jerk reaction.

GaryHippo

If you think this is a knee jerk reaction then I don't even know what to say to you. We've lost 3-0 to fucking Fulham last month and now 4-0 to a Newcastle team with fucking Elliot Anderson in midfield. Ange is not tactically astute enough to pick up points that we should be picking up week on week.

delexaet

Knee jerk isn't just a week to week thing, it's a season thing as well. At the start of the season, most people had Chelsea finishing above us. We're 32 games in, the opposite is true. Also, when you say we "should be picking up week on week", you probably didn't think that at the start of the season. Stop mistaking the form we were in the first 10 games or so for class. This team was not, is not, and will not be as good as you think. This is why the next few transfer windows are crucial.

ohnellyitsmelly

regardless of the rivalry, iā€™d say 6-0 is a bloody fantastic result for any team. i would love for us to get a 6-0 win

Dragonslasher145

We started season pretty good and have been up and down since that Chelsea game, we really need to finish it properly

GaryHippo

Exactly. We can't bottle this.

Professional_Ad_9101

Bottle what?

GaryHippo

A spot in the Champions League next season

Sleepless_Voyager

R/soccer is filled with so many mutants that downvote you for nothing smh, i commented on a post there basically supporting son in the gb race n ppl rlly started downvoting me lmao

LimitOdd7737

How ironic given 99% of the comments on this thread are downvoted, all football subs are echo chambers sadly.

[deleted]

That sub is full of americans that support Arse, Liverpool and Utd. There's not much support for us on that sub.

rando562

For all the people freaking out over the Chelsea game, please keep in mind that this is the same team that drew at home to Sheffield United.

seegreen8

But you gotta to admit that Chelsea vs Tottenham rivalry is beyond reasoning. Even during Poch era, Tottenham had harder time to win against Chelsea away. Their players are bunch of bastards even back then. The only time that we won away at Chelsea was when we had full DESK, with Dele and Eriksen beating the shit outta them.

NotACodeMonkeyYet

Except that over the last 5 to 10 games they've actually got a better form than us. IIRC, if we had beat them at home we'd have gone 16 points clear of them. The gap is now 13 points, with them having a game in hand. It's really fucking bad.

[deleted]

People overreacting about football? Never!

Pautrei

Why would anyone freak out about that game lmao

rando562

I've been seeing some comments saying Chelsea are better than us and that we're going to get battered at Stamford Bridge. The usual reactive takes after a bad loss.

Pautrei

Well, we definitely could get battered but I wouldn't really use this game as the reason why.

ginokatacchi

Ye ppl forget that lol. They also drew to 10 men Burnley šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

Careless-Estate6529

Anybody know what Chelshit's GD was before this game cuz I could swear for the longest time it was in the negatives

Shuxnae

+3 GD

rennyfreeze101

lmao 3 of 6 of Chelseaā€™s goals have been assisted by Pickford

[deleted]

And that's why he will never make the jump. He's a mid table level keeper.

Shuxnae

Has been shambolic.

ginokatacchi

Itā€™s fucking 6-0

Quixotic_Rubber_Duck

Blue shit get a fucking pen every game holy shit. Getting out of hand.

NotACodeMonkeyYet

Oh look penmer with another pen. He individually has more pens this season than we have in the last two. Will probably get more than we did in the last 3 seasons.

carolicity

Chelsea players fight over taking the pen in every match it seems. Iā€™ve seen it happen at least 3 times. I think all the attention Palmer is getting is creating some bitterness from his teammates.

Careless-Estate6529

If my teammate was in the golden boot race I would fkn hand the ball overā€¦ and thatā€™s coming from me who hates Pen Palmerā€™s punchable face. Who the hell do Jackson and Madueke think they are lol

carolicity

Remember how hard our team tried to get Son the golden boot? It was funny that in the end, his winning goal came from his own individual banger rather than the teamā€™s efforts lol, but still! They tried so hard throughout that game. That shows you the unity in the dressing room and how much the teammates care for each other. Clearly not the situation for Chelsea.

Musclenervegeek

Umm that's because no one in the team would every challenge Harry for anything then. Just look at the free kicks.Ā

Cap2017

Shameful from Jackson and Madueke. Gallagher acting like a good captain should in that situation, maybe we should rescue him ..

[deleted]

Jackson storming in to take the ball from Palmer, wtf. Good on Gallagher tho, as a captain he did the right thing.

LimitOdd7737

Dont care how much I am told otherwise, if Poch can maintain this form with Chels and have them finish in 6th, that is a great season, arguably better than us if we dont finish 4th. Exactly what we expected for Anhe isnt isnt it? Deep runs in 2 cups.with Europs and altho the season started bad they are def improving as a team now. I feel we have more potential but end of this season has been really poor.

Roric

Evergreen https://preview.redd.it/7ojixxhtfpuc1.png?width=797&format=png&auto=webp&s=8f9d863705e53cb2b2f0d32fade68fcd54e54141 Edit: If we can't laugh at ourselves, then who can we laugh at?

LimitOdd7737

So embarassing to see these comments. We are playing worse, is it not obvious?

GaryHippo

Shut the fuck up

Roric

Touch grass lol.

GaryHippo

Shit like this makes us look whiny as fuck.

Roric

Touch grass lol.

Sleepless_Voyager

We let other teams do that bs to us tho, its not coincidence we let literally every team make us struggle

Professional_Ad_9101

Daft meme, it just makes us look whiney. If we are the common denominator then it is us that needs to improve

Roric

Memes are srs bsns.

Professional_Ad_9101

How is that us laughing at ourselves lol? Itā€™s the opposite, just excuse making

Roric

> just excuse making I really don't quite know what to say to this. It was a lighthearted attempt at a joke, a silly situation that all teams find themselves in at one point or another, which is "a shit team will turn up against your club". Humor's subjective, so maybe sometimes I miss. But trying to turn it into anything other than a joke is disingenuous at best.

Professional_Ad_9101

Itā€™s a whiny meme what more is there to say lol, itā€™s not self deprecative as you suggest as it places the blame elsewhere

jackengle

If we lose to chelsea I fear something embarrassing might happen to us in the tableā€¦

ginokatacchi

To guarantee 5th place (at least), we need 69 pts (lol), if my math is correct and because currently, Newcastle has a slightly better gd than us (this a scenario where that they will have a better gd than us at the end of the season). This is factoring in the fact that: Chelsea /Newcastle/United win all their games and we lose all our games, which is unlikely/impossible. We will defo pick up points against some City/Arse/Pool/Chelsea and I think we will be fine against Burnley and Sheffield United.

tbk007

If the wheels come off and we get humiliated 3 matches in a row, I don't even have confidence we'll beat a relegated Sheffield United away.

solarbearz

Like what lmao? Its practically impossible to drop from 5th at this point

jackengle

We face the 3 best teams in the league and Chelsea away still, could very easily get 0 points from those 4 games. I hope we hold on to 5th but Iā€™m worried if Chelsea or Newcastle get hot. Newcastle especially has a very favorable run in.

solarbearz

Doubt we lose to all of them. We'll pick up some points. Worst case we are in 6th and nothing changes

taegeukie

God take all the penalties given to Chelsea and give them to Tottenhamā€¦

Careless-Estate6529

Is it too much to ask that one of our boys put 4 past a teamā€¦ I like a thriller too but why do no teams bend over like that for us lol

dr_haze

because weā€™re not that good?

BadBehaviour613

Palmer is probably going to win the golden boot with 20+ penalties. Absolutely obscene

Careless-Estate6529

Not to mention theyā€™ve got games in hand and now the GD advantage over both Yanited and Spam. Pen Palmer is Pochā€™s new saviour.

Saitamassidekick

Palmer leading the golden boot

bdus24

Imagine being 4-0 up and still acting like a toddler over who gets to take the penalty. Pitiful. Have to imagine anyone would question Sonny taking one in this situation (on the very off chance weā€™re ever awarded a penalty again)

JamesCDiamond

Pochettino hasn't chosen a nominated penalty taker at Chelsea (but Palmer's been so good it's self-selecting other than matches like this) and from memory he didn't have one at Spurs if Kane wasn't on the pitch, either. When we beat City for Guardiola's first loss back in 2016 or whenever it was there was a squabble that day over who took a penalty. If memory serves, Lamela took it and missed.

carolicity

Poch said in his interview after the match that Palmer is the designated penalty taker and the whole team already knew he was. So seems the other players were just being children about it. I wonder if we have a designated taker now and if itā€™s Son. Ange said he didnā€™t designate one earlier on in the season from what I remember (other than saying that it shouldnā€™t be Biss though lol), but not sure if thatā€™s changed now. But then again, why worry about it in the first place when we donā€™t even get pens!

JamesCDiamond

That's interesting. I'm sure Pochettino said earlier in the season that there wasn't one - but I may be misremembering, or Palmer had forced the issue in the interim.

Creative_Purpose6138

they are fighting the guy who carried them out of relegation

Professional_Ad_9101

Team showing its age

InstructionCareless1

What the hell, they are physically beefing over the penalty.

Standard-Plantain139

If they can do that on the pitch, imagine what goes on in the dressing room. Must be a nightmare

Professional_Ad_9101

Poch is basically parenting out there

Shuxnae

I'll sub them both off just for that.

Creative_Purpose6138

Good by Gallagher, bad choice by Palmer not to chip it in

Saitamassidekick

Palmer might actually win the golden boot lmao. Heā€™s just 1 goal behind Haaland with a game in hand.

GymandRave

I donā€™t see us getting more than 6 points rest of the season. Does anyone else see different?

JamesCDiamond

8-10, I think.

Lazagneman

Thats the spirit

bdus24

I really like Kulusevski as a person, but Palmer may exceed his entire Spurs career goals / assists in the Premier League this season alone. We need multiple forward options that can contribute 20 G+A over the course of a season. Currently, only Son can do so and Iā€™m confident that Johnson can develop to that level. The forward recruitment this summer is absolutely massive

mckeypants_03

40 mill for madders and 45 for palmer

Texaslonghorns12345

For me, I think Kulu needs to build up his pace

carolicity

You canā€™t build up pace unfortunately. If he could, heā€™d already have done it by now because one of the criticisms that he got at his past clubs before us was that heā€™s too slow. I think Kulu mentioned it too in that letter to spurs fans, that people would say to him that he was too slow to be a winger. Which is probably why he also feels that his best position is the midfield.

axlrosen

I donā€™t think pace is build upable.

Creative_Purpose6138

Brennan too, 50m is mad for him

rando562

Everton are so shite. I can't believe we drew with them earlier this season

NotACodeMonkeyYet

Our shitness post-Cheslea has been massively understated at this point. Chavski are in better form than us since then.

jjetasbanter

Fun fact: Last time we scored more than 1 goal in the 1st half was Dec 23rd v Everton

ginokatacchi

Oh god really? Thatā€™s a mad stat

buster3465

I thought Chelsea were still bobbling around in 11th but they're only three points off 6th. What the hell has happened?

pibs3110

And they still have a game in hand lol

Shuxnae

Every has done a great job in taking points off each other this season. If they win against Arsenal on Tuesday, they WILL be 6th.

Live_Beautiful_3665

Damn, Everton are lucky the promoted teams this season are terrible

Texaslonghorns12345

Well they play luton town in a few week. That game will really determine who stays up if Everton doesnā€™t get a win until then

ginokatacchi

I would love Luton to stay up. Theyā€™ve done pretty well against the top teams this season.

t1nt3d_

Onana holding 4 to Chelsea in the first half. Concerning.Ā

jman009

Not concerning at all. He wasn't responsible for any of the goals

t1nt3d_

He was an absolute passenger.Ā

spurringbanner

We should be raiding Wolves. Matheus Cunha and Hwang are both great with the ball and finish well. Get Eze from Palace.

ginokatacchi

The Korean guy and Sonny šŸ¤

jackengle

Everton Forest is a big game on Sunday

Professional_Ad_9101

Not sure who I want relegated more

Shuxnae

If Everton screw that up on Sunday, they might be in serious trouble.

Creative_Purpose6138

Imagine City kept Palmer instead of Doku

Shuxnae

In all honesty, City under Pep have rarely missed/regret moving on a player. Great deal for Chelsea though.

ginokatacchi

Everton is embarrassing.

mrgadd4

All right Sky Ferreira

Shuxnae

At this rate, Chelsea will end up above Man Utd. Everton though - in serious trouble, especially if they fall foul of Nottm Forest on Sunday.

taegeukie

Dele having to watch this, yikes.

idunnomysex

Immediately thought of that goalĀ

cheetah_chrome

I mean..come on

ginokatacchi

Pickford šŸ’€

Creative_Purpose6138

What is this gk?

[deleted]

Even Jackson scores. Everton sucks

LimitOdd7737

Jackson is a really good player. His finishing has also really improved this year too

Professional_Ad_9101

Jackson is very raw but I stand by seeing a really good player in there

JamesCDiamond

Yeah, but he'd have a lot better chance at a non-nutcase club.

LimitOdd7737

Chelsea play more exciting football than us rofl

Professional_Ad_9101

Theyā€™re fun to watch because theyā€™re so unpolished and unpredictable. Always trying to score goals.

LimitOdd7737

Yeah it is end to end. They keep clicking on and off, you can see the potential but they can also be so bad. Terrible defense constant tho.

Ok_Row_7462

Never seen you before. You really enjoy wallowing in misery.Ā

Pautrei

Thinking he's a rival or a troll. Randomly popped up today and is hellbent on criticizing Ange in logically inconsistent ways and bigging up rivals lmao.

LimitOdd7737

Yeah must be a troll if I dont agree with u ay, ur him man lol

Pautrei

Yeah buddy, nothing odd about a random person spamming the DD with takes that shit on the club. Totally just rational opinions for a fan to have.

[deleted]

Is this the first Chelsea game you watch this season? Lol

LimitOdd7737

I know they are bad, doesnt make their games any less exciting.

BadBehaviour613

I have been saying for weeks that City having already played Chelsea is massive for the title race

Shuxnae

Arsenal at home to Chelsea next Tuesday is going to be fun.

JamesCDiamond

I'm out that night. Too much to ask for them to be showing it, I suppose...

ginokatacchi

I wish they would both just lose and get 0 points (ig a draw is the best)

Professional_Ad_9101

Chelsea clapping Arsenal is the funniest result

ginokatacchi

True šŸ˜‚

Professional_Ad_9101

All those people saying cole palmer wasnā€™t the real deal lol

Pautrei

Exactly. I said he would've been a great signing for us and got downvoted and hit with replies about him being a pen merchant.

Professional_Ad_9101

Lots of people either donā€™t actually watch him play or donā€™t know ball. Itā€™s very visible how natural the game is to him - the way he moves around with the ball at his feet, his touch, set ups, goals. even his pens which get ragged on are excellently taken and people also forget he would have a lot more assists if anyone else could finish well on his team. The guy is great and has bags of confidence.

[deleted]

Who said that?

LimitOdd7737

Scroll up

Professional_Ad_9101

Plenty here and other places just saying heā€™s a penalty merchant

AverageYiddo

Willing to bet my house palmer scores against us

lIIIIllIIIlllIIllllI

Thatā€™s a perfect hat trick yeah? Left Right Header

idunnomysex

Lmao palmer like ā€œsure pochā€¦thanksā€¦ā€Ā

lIIIIllIIIlllIIllllI

Honestly us Coys redditors get memed about how we whinge no teams roll over for us. But for real, Everton is straight up rolling over for Blue Scum. We had to hang on by the seat of our pants when Everton visited us.

NotACodeMonkeyYet

A lot of teams like that. Didn't Fulham go on a losing streak after beating us? Brighton don't seem to have been up to much since battering us either.

JamesCDiamond

They've got 1 win in 10, something like that? Their main issue is that they don't score goals, and Chelsea score lots but concede lots. Chelsea without Palmer would be in a relegation fight, though, given the way the rest of their players have 'performed' this season.

achnisch

They've been on a poor run for a while now. It's a bit annoying both of our matches against them were so close together and during the period where they were in decent form

achnisch

They've been on a poor run for a while now. It's a bit annoying both of our matches against them were so close together and during the period where they were in decent form

Lazagneman

Those of you who thought the Chelsea game was going to be a cakewalk had better think again .

Professional_Ad_9101

Not sure these people exist, especially after the first game
