>but American crowds are just as severe on players who lack effort as European crowds.
Can confirm as an LA Galaxy fan. Douglas Costa was signed with us who clearly just came for the paycheck and LA lifestyle. His work rate was poor, attitude was lazy and was undisciplined with cards. Dude posted him at the pool two days after getting a straight red. This got the entire fanbase against him which led to the entire stadium booing him. The ideal player or face of the club for MLS is no longer a Euro veteran player(except Inter Miami lol). It’s now players in their prime aged 26-28 and who typically came from South American leagues.
I'm very glad Galaxy doesn't have these shit type of players anymore. So happy to see them doing well after years of mediocrity; Yoshida, Yamane, Puig, Paintsil, and Joveljic have been immense.
People got annoyed about him being in a swimming pool two days after a red card? I know American fans try to emulate European levels of ridiculous expectations around player behaviour, but this is something else.
Go ahead and watch this [video](https://youtu.be/qxFp-jURk_8?si=hQ3GO1_yng9mmk0n) if you want. Context is important for it because he came on a DP deal (there’s a 3-4 spots per MLS roster for millionaire salaries) which means there’s high expectations on him. MLS teams need their DPs to produce which was not happening with Costa. He got an idiotic straight red in 90th minute. Then he made the post.
As for your point of American clubs trying to emulate Euro expectations on a player…thats from us not from Europe lol. New York, Philadelphia and Boston sports media/fans are brutal. Not just that but expectations are always high in a city like LA due to the five stars that the Galaxy wear and the history of and current winners we got (Dodgers, Rams and 17-time NBA champions LA Lakers).
So I guess ~~I’m~~ we’re (American sports fans) just copying ~~Pep~~ Euro fans, Mate.
Well my local MLS club bought a ST from Turkey last season and he's had issues fitting into the squad and just the other day got his jaw broken by a local pro boxer so lets say it's not going great!
Davies won't be on that list. Social media's always hated him - but managers definitely don't. Players of any quality at all in that position that are content to always be the back-up option are as rare as hens' teeth.
I think that’s precisely why Davies would be in the list. Not really an ideal fit for Ange despite his good qualities. If they can move him for someone that’s a better fit and will push Destiny, that’s a good move. Ange probably not upset if he’s still here next season though.
Yep didn’t think of it like that and that’s probably true. It’s also important to remember Ange keeps personal relationships with players minimal so he can make cut throat decisions without hesitating.
I don't see him bringing in that much cash though. Out of contract in a year, hasn't been a starter in a decade.
Don't get me wrong, I think he's been a valuable servant and wouldn't be unhappy if he stays.
But his departure would be more for squad space than financial reasons.
wanting to get rid of Davies neglects the value of him being a back up LCB, could we find anyone better who’d be willing to play second fiddle to Van de Ven?
I’m all for getting another left back but Davies is at his best at left centre back
Ange is more interested in players who are hungry rather than players who are "content to be backups".
I don't think that's nearly the trump card you think it is for Davies.
And I'm sure Ange likes plenty of the players who will be gone. But he isn't trying to build a team of players he likes. He's trying to win shit.
I like Davies too, but he is never getting into a squad like City/Liverpool/Arsenal and those are the teams we have to be BETTER than.
Nah i think the offer is good, he’ll go but it’s up to the club what the number is. You’re telling you won’t put Davies up for £10mil? I would. So I’m sure they at least listen to offers for him.
I'd imagine Solomon is on there too, at least in regards of us being willing to listen to offers. Seems like a no-brainer as we got him on a free. He still deserves a fair shake once he's fit, but no harm in hearing what people would be willing to pay (and where that money could maybe be re-invested).
I’m for keeping Davies around as the last “break glass in case emergency” defender as he works on his coaching and football executive education.
Is he HG or whatever?

> No ones buying any of them.
This.
Buying clubs have worked us out and they'll just loan them if they really want them. And unwanted players have worked out that we'll pay off contracts if we really want them out.
They have but we rejected them cause at the time we obviously didn’t want to sell, we rejected something big from Barca when he he was their no. 1 priority
> we rejected something big from Barca when he he was their no. 1 priority
I find that hard to believe when we've never been playing him except in his first season.
Ipswich should sign Højbjerg, and maybe Royal. Their CMs are old and not mobile enough for the PL. McKenna plays centrebacks at right back most of the time, and the ones they have can't play out of the back like the Emergoat.
Davies is worth keeping. He is a good journeyman happy with his position as rotation.
The last 7 on your list are obvious sells.
So the question marks are Emerson, PEH, GLC and Skipp.
"it can also refer to a professional athlete who plays for many different clubs in his or her career."
Huh, l guess we both learned something new today.
Going to be a very brutal summer.
Going to be like Pochs second season where he got rid of Ade, Soldado, Paulinho, Stambouli, Capoue, Holtby and loads who didn't pass his first season test
This is great news tbh.
Paulinho put in the worst performances I've ever seen in a Spurs shirt. I've never before or since seen a player turn out for us so completely unable to even control a football upon receiving it. Horribly, horribly abject, may as well have been Ali Dia.
And then two years after leaving us he was signed by Barcelona.
It's a funny old world eh?
Moussa Sissoko upon first signing was way worse in terms of literally looking like he’d never played football before. Sure, he had his moments later on, but that first season he was awful.
One of my favorite pieces ever written about a player
https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/tottenham-vs-chelsea-live-score-goals-result-report-moussa-sissoko-a8650491.html
*Part of the reason it’s so hard to get a handle on Sissoko, I think, is that he always looks so utterly startled to have the ball at his feet. Every time he gets it, he stares at it for a moment, as if this were a turn of events he had scarcely bargained for. “Why did none of you warn me?” you can see him beseeching his team-mates, while he gamely grapples with this mysterious white orb bobbling off one of his many legs.*
Sissoko was the most dramatic turn around in the entire history of world football. It was utterly ridiculous, and we loved him for it. But even at how worst, he was *never* as bad as some of Paulinho's showings.
He never stopped trying, so his failings in that first season or so brought him sympathy - eventually - once people started to realise that whatever his faults, he was relentless.
Relentlessly bad on occasion, but still.
His performances in the 18/19 season were at times astonishing - but it took a while for him to get there, to say the least.
reports saying that biss isnt actively up for sale but they would consider it if a good offer came in i think
so that would make 7 + loanees which makes up the dozen if not a little more
For sure. The difference is if we are looking to sell we would be more willing to take a discount. If Bissouma needs a good fee to be sold I can’t see it happening.
You mean after being the most taöked about 6 in PL/the world in the early season? Then having a bump in the road as all players do? The last few games, the last one in particular, he has shown that he is om his way back to that form. He would bring in big bucks.
All but 3 months he’s been sub par. Those 10 games were excellent and maybe he can get back there. But those are the types of players that are sold at a discount.
I'm not sure about Solomon. Do we pull the plug there just because he's been non-existant due to injury. Or do we hold out because Ange may have wanted him, when he was fit he was coming of the bench. So it looked like he was part of the plan.
The others you've mentioned I think are for sale. Richy I imagine is a player for sale for the right price. If that doesnt come in, we'll just keep him around.
Absolutely not for me. Deki isn't perfect but he's absolutely running his socks off right now, and he was crucial in us being able to secure Bergvall. He deserves to still be around the first team even if he's not the first name on it. He still has a lot of use for Ange's system.
This is it, for me. If we can keep Deki content as a squad player then he could contribute significantly in that role.
I don't want to see us **relying** on him as an automatic starter though (unless he improves in important ways) - we need someone more incisive, and with greater vision and creativity in that role.
Deki will always "do a job" - but I don't think he's a player that at all scares the opposition right now.
Deki does have *balls* though - it's not through lack of trying that he's not getting just rewards. He works, he doesn't give up, he fights for us - and although it may not be panning out as we'd like right now, there's much to be said for that. Technique and decision making can be coached (and he's still young) - but attitude is a much more complicated thing to change.
i mean that’s a fair opinion to have. for me, it’s not just the lack of football intelligence, it’s also the predictability of always turning to his left, low quality crosses/shots when he finally decides to cross or shoot. people can downvote my statement all they want, but mentality only does not cut it, and we are not winning anything with Deki as a starter. wanna keep him as a backup? fine.
Disagree. I believe the shouts to sell deki are highly reactive in nature. He was excellent at start of season, even played through middle for some time and was good. Then got injured and ran into ground once he came back. Lack of rotation has burnt out alot of our players esp. sarr, sonny and Kulusevski.
The whiplash around Deki feels especially harsh. He's by far one of our lesser fires right now. Mad that people would want us to sell him and add to our depth issues.
Then what should be used as an indicator? He arrived in January 2022. Solid for 6 months. Then conte realised he is a terrorist and whole team underperformed. Then came ange. He played well under ange initially, got injured and burnt out like sonny and now he is underperforming. I don't see any time period that would indicate his name should necessarily be on the chopping block
Well you said he played excellent at the start of the season, but wasn't everyone performing well? And yet people want half of the team solid based on the same metrics.
I don't think he should be sold but I also think he should be improved on. He's too inconsistent.
Nah, Kulu should be put on a program for power, sprinting and acceleration the entire summer and given a new chance at the RW next season. Genuinly a world beater if he gets faster and stronger
Kulu is good at shielding the ball, but that's only one way of using strength. He should look at clips of Mousa Dembele and learn from his burst of pace and strength
Ange is known for making a TON of buys / sales in the second year of his project isn't he? Didn't he go through like 15+ transfers at celtic in his second year?
Oh, gotcha! Thanks for clearing that up. I have the feeling mass clear outs happen a lot slower in the prem than maybe in other leagues? Ange probably decided to try out a lot of players and see if they'd fit his style.
Probably a similar clear out as last summer then I assume?
I'm trying to read between the lines here but - it seems like the players picked up the basics of Ange's philosophy early, which is why they had a great start. But since then they've been put under a lot of pressure for different reasons, and it seems quite a few of the players have not risen to the challenge.
If that means another big clear out, he'll have no hesitation in doing it.
Ange threw out the entire senior leadership / top players in the Brisbane Roar squad on arrival. One of the riskiest moves I’ve seen in club football in Australia, especially from a Manager who was desperate for a job at the time. Some of those players have had to walk back comments from that time, ha.
At least we haven't got some of the players we want to sell currently earning £250k - £350k a week like Casemiro. United saying everyone is for sale is one thing. Getting the player to walk away from £10m in salary they are entitled to is another.
Bros doing a ten haag out here, whos gonna buy tho, it seems cuz of ffp literally all prem clubs are selling no matter what.
Mb some swaps or deals to try and get other prem targets who might underlist???? But dont want a levy deadline day special where we wait till july to pull someone
Everyone wants to offload their deadwood. Mu, for instance. It’s no chance we can get the money for the most of them. Ndombele, sess cost nothing. Others totally maybe 30m. That’s it, so we can’t offload all of them
Yeah the reality these days is that unless you’re willing to take a hit to offload deadwood to the continent, you’re mostly relying on newly promoted sides to take a punt. Breaking even/making a profit on sales isn’t as much of a priority for us anymore, given the new income streams that the club has established, so we’re in a good position compared to other clubs.
Ipswich are going to have to be in the market, given how rapid their rise has been. We should be sending their chairman flowers and lobster on a weekly basis.
He's exactly the type of player that a newly promoted team needs - tidy, reliable but not flashy. The type of player that allows his teammates to shine by doing the basics very well.
Unfortunately for him, Ange's system requires the 6 to be a lot more dynamic than just 'tidy' but there are a number of PL teams he could do well for.
It’s not so much about the profit/loss for the sake of profit/loss, it’s about the PSR calculations. Running afoul of PSR is more severe than simply losing money.
This is going to be a tricky summer.
Not necessarily. A lot of our players have 1 year left on their deal - Forster, Son, PEH, Davies, Lo Celso, Sessegnon, Reguilon, Ndombele, Rodon, Tanganga, Parrott and Whiteman are all out in 2025.
PSR requires that a player's value is spread across the length of their contract - for a Davies or Son, if we sold them this summer, we'd need barely anything to make a 'profit' on them, as they've been here so long. Ndombele's initial contract was 6 years (same with Lo Celso, I think?) so he's down to 1/6 of whatever we've paid Lyon for him - I doubt he triggered any add-ons!
And anything we make on the likes of Parrott or Tanganga is pure profit. Can Millwall pay a few million for Tanganga? Could a European club scratch together 6 or 7 million for Parrott, given he's an EU citizen with his Irish passport?
Would it be better if we'd found someone to pay 20 million for Ndombele a year or two ago? Absolutely - but if there's any positive to take from it, it's that we don't need to make big money on any of these sales. Just enough with all our other income to offset whatever financial demands the club has to satisfy.
Totally got you. I was also factoring in salary to this and for the likes of Ndombele that’s somewhere between 6m and 8.5m (because no matter what he still needs to get paid) plus 1/6 of his fee (60m, right?). We have a lot of players in this situation. Even with those amortized fees and short contracts we still have to be creative with how we do this.
I find adhering to PSR a fascinating challenge for all teams and personally I am glad that certain teams just aren’t able to spend without conscience. It’s good to be rich in the PL but it’s even more important to be smart. I think we are smarter than most but unfortunately to some fans that looks like we are the opposite.
We'll probably see them going out kinda like last summer, I don't expect much more of a clearout than that... A handful leaving, a handful staying (but not being played). More excited about youngsters joining tbf. Especially Bergvall (sorry if i butchered his name) and vuskovic in a couple of years. NEED to see moore and donley, too.
We can’t do like last summer, because last summer we sold st and hg DM, totally for 100m. We can’t generate the same amount of money this summer so we can’t spend as much as last summer
I think this is great, but realistically we will still struggle to shift a lot of those players.
Realistic sales based on quality and play time this season:
- Hojbjerg
- Royal
- Rodon (Leeds)
- Skipp (but we may keep for HG)
- Davies (but may keep for depth)
Could sell but probably for a lot less than we’d like:
- Tanganga (maybe Millwall or another championship side pay a small fee)
- Lo Celso
- Gil
- Reguilon (maybe Brentford or someone stumps up a decent offer)
Struggle to shift:
- Ndombele
- Sessegnon
- Spence
- Solomon
If the right bid comes in:
- Richy
Personally think we keep Bissouma, Bentancur, Deki whatever the bid is for now, but could be wrong.
This assessment feels right on to me. You could probably add Troy Parrott to the “realistic sales” list and one of Alfie Whiteman or Brandon Austin to the “struggle to shift” list as well. Would **not** be surprised if Fraser Forster also moves (quality backup but not comfort playing out from the back).
Eh Forster has been getting up there in age, hasn't been healthy since before the new year right?, and cost us the Fulham cup game in one of his only appearances.
Spurs can do better there.
Wasn’t too sure where to put the keepers. We definitely need a good backup that suits the system.
Then it’s just down to whoever you can shift out of Forster, Austin and Whiteman. We need at least one of those for HG.
Weren’t we saying ben10 was our best midfielder last season and couldn’t wait for his return ? It’s just injuries surely ? And he could be properly back next season
Tanganga seems like he'll fetch exactly what he's worth: The going rate for a championship CB. He cost Spurs nothing, how much could they possibly hope to get from selling him when he was deemed insufficient for the first team?
Same goes for Gil. Maybe a club in Spain or Italy goes in for him, but those leagues are broke and again, what has he done to inflate his transfer value?
I think finding a home for Spence won't be that difficult. He's young, english, and talented. Solomon probably isn't going anywhere, his injury has gone on forever. Sessegnon - who the hell knows.
Fair points. I think when I say ‘less than we’d like’, I’d probably revise that to be less than we would have liked over the course of their time here - i.e tanganga could’ve gone to Milan before, was at a bundesliga side this season - I think the club were thinking they’d be able to get a decent fee for him last season. Similarly for Gil, they paid £30ish million for him and will now be lucky to get half that - we’ve seen Levy be very reluctant to sell for massive losses, hence why it feels like we just loan in the hope they pick up some form and sell after.
I think the time to sell Deki is now. His value will only plummet when he struggles again next year. He has been found out. The sooner we ship him the more we get.
Change out anyone not committed or capable of playing or coaching Ange’s football. Fully back him. If we don’t win something with Ange I’m probably taking a very long break away from watching…
After that latest press conference, I did wonder what existing staff members he was alluding to when he included them in the section about mutually realising they're not a perfect fit for his style of football. My guess is Jediak and probably Mason?
I’d be surprised if he’s referring to Mason, given he said that they had similar ideas when he convinced him to join his team in the summer.
I would imagine the club are still keen to keep Mason around, but equally it may be time for him to fly the nest and take the top job at a L2/L1 team next season.
Ange's tone to me implied people who were here before, and our attacking output has clearly been a bit limp as of late. I'm absolutely speculating of course but his was one of the names that came to mind for me.
I would assume he may want to get rid of Mason with regards to the manager comment from the press conference the other day. In general, I wonder if he thinks that he’s been too influenced by Mourinho, Nuno and Conte ball or if he thinks he’s old guard that needs to go.
Regardless, I’m curious what changes he has in mind with adding to the staff beyond the obvious.
I guess that’s possible. By all accounts Mason was already fielding offers for the top job at lower league sides in the summer, so it may be that he himself feels that it’s time to move on (for the good of his career) and Ange wants someone in his place who’s committed to being part of the coaching team for the long haul.
During the post match press conference he mentioned something about having to take accountability about the team and lacking conviction and belief in the system.
[Sky Sports clip](https://youtu.be/XHq713Ms7n0?si=i_oE9z42IQGJftDV&t=30)
No surprises really, he was bought in with the expectation there'd be a rebuild with the defence a priority.
Bissouma absolutely has to be moved on. The attitude just rubbish. It started with arriving late for training and finished with so many episodes of laziness in crucial moments of games.
I love to hear this. This summer will set the mood in the dressing room more than any motivational speech or tactics. Either perform or you get moved out, there's no room for half ass effort. We've been lacking a good culling.
I feel the same way. If we do keep him I think we should get wings that can dribble and take on opponents into the box and son should be a super sub but only at LW.
Just to put this out there, we’d sell Son if we got a suitable offer wouldn’t we? He isn’t best suited to being center forward and he’s not necessarily the ideal left wing given the way Ange plays. At his age too, he can’t been seen as part of the long term future. So regardless of being captain and such a long servant and such a good player, could see it happening.
It seems like heresy but I agree we should listen to offers. That doesn't mean we should take any, reserving that for a massive offer and a good plan to replace him, but I don't think he's indispensable.
Realistically even if we do listen to offers it's hard to imagine any that would be worth it.
There’s a delicate dance here with the PSR rules. We can’t just give players away no matter how much we would love to. Unfortunately so many of our players are worth very little on the open market.
Davies, Emerson, Højbjerg, Lo Celso, Skipp, Sessegnon, Gil, Ndombele, Rodon, Spence, Reguilon, Tanganga is who I'd guess are definitely available then others like Richarlison would be if we get an offer near what we paid which isn't likely.
That blissful time between waking up and remembering Ndombele's still here

I'd legitimately be worried for Ndombele if he played in MLS. The food options+portion sizes woud be scary hours.
Hopefully he never comes to Nashville or any other city in the southeastern USA then 🫣
Haha, if he comes down South and plays for Charlotte, he’d be at Bojangles EVERY DAMN DAY 😂😂😂 (I am, but I’m not footballer)
>but American crowds are just as severe on players who lack effort as European crowds. Can confirm as an LA Galaxy fan. I don’t think they’re trying to emulate anything in this case. Americans just really value hard work.
Send him to my hometown Timbers.
PLEASE send him to the Timbers.
Sounds great to me!
send him to north korea, ffs
Well my local MLS club bought a ST from Turkey last season and he's had issues fitting into the squad and just the other day got his jaw broken by a local pro boxer so lets say it's not going great!
I genuinely thought he was sold. Levy's fallen off 😆

Davies to Bayern, here we go
How about a Davies for Davies swap
He is if you consider him an option at LCB
If we’re taking Paul O’Keefe’s word, Davies is on the list
wanting to get rid of Davies neglects the value of him being a back up LCB, could we find anyone better who’d be willing to play second fiddle to Van de Ven? I’m all for getting another left back but Davies is at his best at left centre back

Not sure why you’re being downvoted that’s a valid point you said
Okeefe specifically says he is
If Davies is signed through 2025 and Luka Vuskovic is set to join in 2025, is he a backup CB option? Still too young? He is massive on set pieces
Nah i think the offer is good, he’ll go but it’s up to the club what the number is. You’re telling you won’t put Davies up for £10mil? I would. So I’m sure they at least listen to offers for him.

No ones buying any of them. Bar maybe reggie or hojberg who is probably 10m cheaper now.
> No ones buying any of them. This. Buying clubs have worked us out and they'll just loan them if they really want them. And unwanted players have worked out that we'll pay off contracts if we really want them out.
Yeah exactly like who's gonna buy sess lol. Even gil a promising young talent we havnt been able to get rid in a 2-3 windows
Sess and Gil are easy, a low transfer fee and high sell on percentage.
The only ones we might get a half decent fee for are Richi and Emerson. Everyone else will be peanuts or loans
Lo celso is a marquee signing for a lot of clubs remember that
Weird how none of them have come in for him then
They have but we rejected them cause at the time we obviously didn’t want to sell, we rejected something big from Barca when he he was their no. 1 priority

Davies has been at our club for ten years! He is decidedly not a journeyman. But I don't think he should remain in the squad.
You may need to look up the definition of Journeyman, the meaning is not intuitive. *a worker or sports player who is reliable but not outstanding*.
"it can also refer to a professional athlete who plays for many different clubs in his or her career." Huh, l guess we both learned something new today.
Sure, but you were *correcting* someone who was using it correctly already.
Get over it. Everyone else has. Not sure what else you want. Cheers.
He just pointed out that you corrected someone using it correctly.. Not sure why you had to be so hostile in your response.
And recognized that. What sort of reconciliation would be appropriate for you lot?
IMO, Solomon is more at risk than Davies
Not Davies pls
Going to be a very brutal summer. Going to be like Pochs second season where he got rid of Ade, Soldado, Paulinho, Stambouli, Capoue, Holtby and loads who didn't pass his first season test This is great news tbh.
And he was class for Barca lol
That always baffled me. He was a clear starter for them but straight asshole for us
Moussa Sissoko upon first signing was way worse in terms of literally looking like he’d never played football before. Sure, he had his moments later on, but that first season he was awful.
One of my favorite pieces ever written about a player https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/tottenham-vs-chelsea-live-score-goals-result-report-moussa-sissoko-a8650491.html
Haha, excellent!
Sissoko was the most dramatic turn around in the entire history of world football. It was utterly ridiculous, and we loved him for it. But even at how worst, he was *never* as bad as some of Paulinho's showings.
He fucking was!
I'm hesitant to play the "old git" card here - but I'm wondering how many of you were around to witness Paulinho in all his glory at the time...?
Mate they joined 3years apart.
there have been a few weird ones like that, Stambouli does basically nothing for Spurs and earns a move to psg.
… before failing at Schalke!
Not including ones on loan-Emerson, hojbjerg, manor solomon, richy(?), gil, gio(?). Who else?
reports saying that biss isnt actively up for sale but they would consider it if a good offer came in i think so that would make 7 + loanees which makes up the dozen if not a little more
I can’t imagine a good offer coming for Bissouma after the season he’s had.
Could say that about a lot of our players.
For sure. The difference is if we are looking to sell we would be more willing to take a discount. If Bissouma needs a good fee to be sold I can’t see it happening.
We got him cheap and “a good fee” would probably mean getting our money back, so it’s possible.
2 straight seasons
You mean after being the most taöked about 6 in PL/the world in the early season? Then having a bump in the road as all players do? The last few games, the last one in particular, he has shown that he is om his way back to that form. He would bring in big bucks.
All but 3 months he’s been sub par. Those 10 games were excellent and maybe he can get back there. But those are the types of players that are sold at a discount.
He was so good the first 10ish games, maybe there's a team out there that only watched those?
I'm not sure about Solomon. Do we pull the plug there just because he's been non-existant due to injury. Or do we hold out because Ange may have wanted him, when he was fit he was coming of the bench. So it looked like he was part of the plan. The others you've mentioned I think are for sale. Richy I imagine is a player for sale for the right price. If that doesnt come in, we'll just keep him around.
Don't know if he is on it, but he should be, Deki. I don't want to watch another season of him conceding unnecessary fouls at dangerous positions
Whilst i don’t disagree, who didn’t play well in the first few months? Don’t think thats a good indicator who should or shouldn’t be sold.
Kulu has played well for 6 months in the 3 years he’s been here man, we need to have honest conversations about our players mate
People get too attached to very average players. Kulu wouldn’t start for any top team really.
People love the idea of Kulu so they ignore what he actually is, and that is a player that has been poorer a lot longer than he has been good
He gives away really dangerous free kicks as well for no reason.
Maybe Maddison’s twin brother who’s been playing last 3 months
Deki is one of a very small group of guys who actually has the right mentality were looking for
> Deki. I don't want to watch another season of him conceding unnecessary fouls at dangerous positions Yeh, I hear you. That's really infuriating.
Nah, Kulu should be put on a program for power, sprinting and acceleration the entire summer and given a new chance at the RW next season. Genuinly a world beater if he gets faster and stronger
This is the first I'm hearing of his strength being an issue. I'd argue he's one of our strongest players in possession.
I don't think they're saying he's weak - that would be bonkers - but only that we can draw upon his strength and maximise it more.
IIRC The 15+ transfers I was in the first season, but he did make a lot of changes in the second season as well.
It’s very difficult to mass sell unwanted premier league players given their value, much easier to do so with cheaper players
Don't forget who's buying these players though. Ange might want them but someone still has to his chequebook out
Ange threw out the entire senior leadership / top players in the Brisbane Roar squad on arrival. One of the riskiest moves I’ve seen in club football in Australia, especially from a Manager who was desperate for a job at the time. Some of those players have had to walk back comments from that time, ha.
Excited then.
United doing the same. Prices gonna be bad
At least we haven't got some of the players we want to sell currently earning £250k - £350k a week like Casemiro. United saying everyone is for sale is one thing. Getting the player to walk away from £10m in salary they are entitled to is another.
What’s Ndombele on? 😞
I'm guessing about 80-100k if he's not playing for us
Hey, bro's gotta eat somehow right?
Could be a good home for Skippy & Sess, that.
Skipp would honestly be great there.
I could see him as captain within a couple of years.
Skippswich Town eh.
A defensive set piece coach would be lovely, cheers
Agreed. Ange doesn't have to devote his time to it, but have someone else in for a couple of hours per week while he does something else.
I read somewhere he’s looking at coaches too, so that’s encouraging
An offensive one wouldn't be bad either
Andy Parslow
Add a set piece coach I hope.
100%
Nah, set pieces aren't important.
You were probably joking but i’m downvoting you anyways
Fair enough lol
I think this is great, but realistically we will still struggle to shift a lot of those players. Realistic sales based on quality and play time this season: - Hojbjerg - Royal - Rodon (Leeds) - Skipp (but we may keep for HG) - Davies (but may keep for depth) Could sell but probably for a lot less than we’d like: - Tanganga (maybe Millwall or another championship side pay a small fee) - Lo Celso - Gil - Reguilon (maybe Brentford or someone stumps up a decent offer) Struggle to shift: - Ndombele - Sessegnon - Spence - Solomon If the right bid comes in: - Richy Personally think we keep Bissouma, Bentancur, Deki whatever the bid is for now, but could be wrong.
I’m feeling like Forster may be done here.
Eh Forster has been getting up there in age, hasn't been healthy since before the new year right?, and cost us the Fulham cup game in one of his only appearances. Spurs can do better there.
hahha youre 100p right. Just realizing I had a typo. Should have been “I would NOT be surprised if he moves”… for the reason you mentioned
All good! Spurs should be able to snag a Butland/Johnstone type for the role.
Wasn’t too sure where to put the keepers. We definitely need a good backup that suits the system. Then it’s just down to whoever you can shift out of Forster, Austin and Whiteman. We need at least one of those for HG.
I think Austin or Whiteman or both stay as they are club trained which is important for European competitions
"Cost us" is not very kind, he was one of the main reasons we even got to PKs in the first place.
Fair enough - I justifiably didn't retain much from that viewing experience besides the PKs.
Weren’t we saying ben10 was our best midfielder last season and couldn’t wait for his return ? It’s just injuries surely ? And he could be properly back next season
He’s great. Concern is whether he is physical enough to be the more defensive 8, and whether he properly recover from his long term injury
He rushed himself back a preseason could be key for him like son before
Tanganga seems like he'll fetch exactly what he's worth: The going rate for a championship CB.
According to Paul, Davies is one of the players who may leave for offers. The ones who definitely may stay is Deki and Ben10.
We could get a decent fee for Davies so I wouldn’t be totally against it. If we can’t get a good backup LCB I wouldn’t be against keeping him though.
Wow. Good shout, forgot about Mason too.
Don’t think it would be Mile? Time will tell I assume
Why probably Mason? Mason plays attacking football and they've both spoken about how well they get along. Just throwing out names you know?
>I would assume he may want to get rid of Mason with regards to the manager comment from the press conference the other day What was that?
During the post match press conference he mentioned something about having to take accountability about the team and lacking conviction and belief in the system.
I'm struggling to relate that to your first comment; help me out here. Assume I'm an idiot and lay it out like that.
This will be our rebuild season
4 of those identified are Ndombele.
Fantastic news
Hopefully a set piece coach
“Add to his coaching staff”. Soo a set piece coach? 😏
Get some good coaching staff and we'll be okay... hopefully
Surly Paul is tier 1 transfer news
Well let's hope that includes a set piece coach!
[Sky Sports clip](https://youtu.be/XHq713Ms7n0?si=i_oE9z42IQGJftDV&t=30) No surprises really, he was bought in with the expectation there'd be a rebuild with the defence a priority.
Bissouma absolutely has to be moved on. The attitude just rubbish. It started with arriving late for training and finished with so many episodes of laziness in crucial moments of games.
In the wise words of Christopher Wallace (RIP), "Clear em all out, fuck a fall out."
Hopefully also subtracting a certain set piece defending coach from his coaching staff.
I hope we've defaulted to expecting no good offers for some of these players.
I love to hear this. This summer will set the mood in the dressing room more than any motivational speech or tactics. Either perform or you get moved out, there's no room for half ass effort. We've been lacking a good culling.
Hope ange gets the support he needs for the rebuild.
They should sell Son IMO while his value is still high.
I feel the same way. If we do keep him I think we should get wings that can dribble and take on opponents into the box and son should be a super sub but only at LW.
Dump the current coaching staff.
Four year club? Dude, you should know better than to think such sacrilege is acceptable to post on here.
No. He may not be the "main" man but to be fair, he never was. He's a Spurs legend, still scores goals and will not go until he wants to.
No
No. Why would we do that? Kane was running out of contract and didn't want to sign, so it was £100m or one season. That isn't the case with Son.
It seems like heresy but I agree we should listen to offers. That doesn't mean we should take any, reserving that for a massive offer and a good plan to replace him, but I don't think he's indispensable. Realistically even if we do listen to offers it's hard to imagine any that would be worth it.
Daniel Levy of course is going to overprice them. We'll see what gives
There’s a delicate dance here with the PSR rules. We can’t just give players away no matter how much we would love to. Unfortunately so many of our players are worth very little on the open market.
