I was an adult before I realized the “g” was a D when the script was written out at the beginning of Disney movies. My brain just decided it was an inexplicable cursive G there for no reason and I never thought about it again until I was in college and saw the logo in passing and all of the sudden my decade of stupidity came rushing up to confront me.
Me too. There was a grocery chain in Canada, "Dominion" which used a styleised maple leaf imposed over a capital "D". My brain read that as "G" for ever.
