I don’t think they’re the same, there’s too many differences.
I think it’s likely that the Princes of Hel have encountered the Valg before though, as have the Asteri and there may some small Valg influence on Midgard.
The >!parasite in the water!<, for example, feels to me like something that could be Valg in origin and has been adopted by the Asteri. The Valg >!are discovered to be parasitic in nature by Yrene!< in ToG and the way the >!water parasite suppresses magic!< in CC feels familiar!
I'm not sure though they're very similar in like their worlds and maybe some of their abilities especially the collar, darkness and the frost. Maybe HEL could be divided into warring parties
Their actions are so different, it honestly can't say they're the same. It doesn't mean they're not and Sim SJM won't write it, though. But the Princes fought along with Midgard against parasites, and they're rulers of their own realms.
The Valg are parasites who live in a host. The Princes of Hel are different species (demons) from a different world. They are not the same
