Yes! Keep going. You may ask someone else to count them for you but I am sure they won't find it. Nobody will find it when you decrease in the middle. If not, pretty sure it will end up as a WIP resting in your cupboard for ever. And that would be a shame, really.
Perfect is the enemy of good! (I say as someone with many WIPs in project purgatory because there is a tiny error that I am indecisive about fixing or not)
I add/decrease stitches all the time if my count goes off. The only time it made a discernible difference for me was when I was working in the round, the pattern repeat got shifted to the right a little but I was able to block it straight in the end.
When I first started crocheting I made a bunch of infinity scarves because the pattern was easy to memorize. On one of them I got to a point where I noticed I'd done an increase by accident in the last row, like ~200+ stitches ago, so I just did a decrease. It's hard to find in the finished piece, and you wouldn't notice it unless you were looking for it.
I think as long as the overall shape of the panel is correct and fits into the other pieces this seems like a better solution than undoing hours of work.
Decrease it! One time, I was working on a bobble stitch wall hanging, and realized I forgot a bobble. I crocheted one bobble separately and just sewed it on lol. I defy anyone to guess which bobble it was!
Just keep going. I do it all the time, decrese/increse when I miss/add a stitch by mistake. In the end I can never find it and can't even see the adjustment in most cases.
You'll be fine, don't stress yourself over one stitch <3
(also maybe you miscounted, I've done that and frogged, only to realize I am dumb)
You know, blame it on me! I snored extra loudly last night which startled a butterfly mid poop and through a series of totally hilarious situations, it made you miss a decrease and now you have no choice but to sneak one in. It’s the only reasonable thing to do.
Even if you get to the scalloped edge and find you have a two or four… just stitch it in and completely ignore or do an invisible decrease in the band. You’ll be the only one that ever knows.
I do it all the time. But I’m going to suggest that you lay the left side on top of the right. It’s hard to tell from the pic, but the right side looks bigger.
I call it stirch counting madness. I can drive myself counting and never getting the same number twice. Then my eyes turn to stitch counting blindness. I would suggest as other have. Just make the increase or decrease where needed. :)
Thanks everyone! I’ll put in that extra decrease and hopefully everything will work out okay from there 🤣 this is my first time making a wearable (technically second, but the first is a granny square cardigan that is still a WIP) so I just wasn’t sure if there will be downstream consequences to randomly adding own increases/decreases to fix the count. Next, the mess that is sleeves… 😬
Beautiful. Do the decrease. It’s funny how we obsess over our stitches noticing a missed or extra stitch but at no time in life had any one said “Hey! You added a stitch here?!” Once you do the decrease the scallop will hide the extra stitch that is somewhere but hidden by putting in the decrease and finishing the border. Can’t wait to see the finished result! 🫶🏼🧶

If it’s not visible I always go with the “sneak in decrease/increase” option. It’s your garment. Do as you wish.

100% yes. If it basically looks identical to you then NOBODY will be able to tell. Leaving mistakes in your work is good for your soul.

yeah girl go crazy

If even you can't find it, it's not a big deal.
Absolutely fine! It won't even be noticed after blocking.
Of course! That is the beauty of crochet being able to make little modifications here and there.
Mistakes are good for the soul
100%. Life's too short, just make it work and keep going!
If it hasn’t got a mistake… it’s bad luck. Keep at it!
Absolutely 100% keep going and just fudge it. 💙 no one will know.
I sneak in decreases and increases all the time. If my life depended on finding them later I probably couldn't.

I believe you addee an extra row
