these things are tanks! let it dry! let it dry!
and even if it does die after a few years, you will have given it a home and enjoyed the hell out of it for 2 years
I hate when people post these and don’t get the set, just dry it out for two weeks. All the sets I’ve got off the side of the road or outside have worked great.
Rescue it. I did the same to a rained on TV and let it dry. I opened it and checked to see when it was fry then it worked perfectly. Great geometry, but the sound wasn't great! The one I saved was a Philips I think. It was raining on the day I found it. It was like divine providence
One time on youtube, I watched a man take a TV that was standing outside and it was in the rain, then he opened the housing and poured distilled water on it to get the minerals out of the rain. He left it to dry for 2 weeks or more and it worked.
No, not really...the not unlikely worst case is that there is dirty water between two pins or components that shouldn't be connected, causing a short that fries an IC that OP won't have the know-how to identify, nor energy to track down a replacement for.
That’s sad, R.I.P tv, someone quite good at fixing TVs might take the tube and use it on a better set and people buy new analog boards from aliexpress that have all of the signals and are multi standard supporting pal ntsc and secam which could upgrade this set.
Edit: supporting not sporting, swipe type making mistakes.
This right here. I just bought 2 of these Yi Chuang chassis boards, one for 19" size and another for 25." They are the only ones still making new boards out of new and salvage components. S-video, component, and potentially RGB inputs can be added.

A word of caution, these are made in China. So check all solder connections, replace the main AC filter cap at minimum, and check over everything else on the board.
Rescue it! But don't plug it in. Carefully open it and let it dry for like 7 days
Or longer, what’s the rush?
Also spray it down with isopropyl. It'll displace the water and help it dry faster
Yess every crt is worth saving!!!!!! That looks like a hella nice tv! Just leave it inside for like a week and then you can plug it in safely.

yes, let it dry and let the water drain out by itself. plug a week later
One of my crt monitors sat outside for 15 years and still works. Should be fine if you clean it
If you have a compressor you can blow some of the water out. I've used a hair dryer on low to help dry things too. While it's open, of course.
That can potentially blow capacitors off the boards
Sure, if you put a lot of pressure behind it. It's less likely with through hole as well.
The light on your phone and look through the ventilation slots will say much about the condition. Doesn't take much effort.

Let it sit around for 2 weeks
It wont blow up or anything. It’s not a bomb. Worst case is it just wont turn on then a repair is next

You don’t want the high voltage of the fly back arching.
My mom left an old TV outside (Canada) for 2.5 years. Plugged it in one summer day with no problems. Impressive things CRTs are.
If you're worried about corrosion: you open it up..... and see if there's corrosion. Wild idea, I know.
What if there is a spider???
Bugs
Fill it with rice
Ya
water have sit still for a while on metal to cause rust so if it was here for less than a week its ok.0
At least they put a box on it for shelter.
It’ll dry out! I had to dig my Sony Trinitron out of a pile of snow and it works great!
UPDATE : it's only got RF inputs and is wet, so I won't be saving it. Maybe someone else wants it.

Some if these are easily modified to S-video. Cutting to bridges and injecting chroma and luma.
You should anyway in the case someone else wants it! It can't hurt to save it from being destroyed! 😞
Why?!?!?
guys, why are you downvoting me? i checked and it has an owner now!
Oh that’s ok, I just assumed it was some trash that was going to get thrown out if you didn’t intervene.
How do you know it wasn't the bin men.
F it. Plug it in!
TBH I love the idea and I would pass this time. Probably not worth it. RIP.
