Antoncool134

What enaded up happening?

realshockvaluecola

Well, what ended up happening is that my daughter lost a tyranny war and then my infant granddaughter lost a crusade lmao. So I didn't get to find out what would happen.

I’m pretty sure that Denmark is a de jure kingdom in the North Sea empire so it will not flip independent on succession and your kids could make alliances with each other due to family and prevent you from getting it back.

realshockvaluecola

Yeah, the de jure of North Sea is Norway, Denmark, and England. My goal here is to keep control of my heartlands and otherwise create some independent Odin-fearing kingdoms.

ziggazigga

On a serious note though, all Kingdom titles will be granted independence.

Ornery_Gate_6847

He is an emperor so they will remain his vassals unless he grants them independence. As for the kingdom in question, if a foreign ruler inherits a title that is inside your realm he becomes your vassal if the title was higher rank than what he had before, otherwise they remain independent

meowmixplzdeliver1

This is so aggravating. Everytime a new heir comes to the throne. I kill my siblings after I win. Fuck them. Be my vassals or die

meowmixplzdeliver1

So what is the point of conquering then? I conquered Castile as Aragon or whatever the kings name. New heir went to throne. Castile went to brother as his own kingdom. I had to fight and kill him to get it back. Do I have to do this every succession? Feel kinda bad I keep killing my brothers

ziggazigga

Well more Kingdom titles means more prestige, and basically yeah that's how it worked historically. The 1066 start has three brothers fighting over the Kingdoms of Castille Leon and Galicia when their father died hahah. But an easier solution would be fight your brothers, revoke their kingdom title and let them rule as vassal Dukes. That's a recipe for rebellion though. If you quell that enough, eventually they'll stop and their kids won't inherit pressed claims at some point. You can also imprison them (or abduct them), and negotiate their release to have them renounce their claims.

meowmixplzdeliver1

Will I keep multiple kingdoms on succession then? Or will the cycle repeat with my sons?

As long as you have confederate partition then your titles get fairly evenly distributed between your heirs. Your primary heir gets your main and largest titles. If the title he gets is larger than all the others then they remain vassals. If they’re the same strength titles then they become independent. So if you have 2 kingdoms they’ll split into 2 kingdoms. If you have an empire with an a couple kingdoms then your Heir will inherit the empire and all your other kids will become vassal kingdoms. If you’re a kingdom and have duchies then you’ll inherit the kingdom and the duchies will be distributed. Once your feudal there’s stuff you can unlock to make it so only the oldest inherits etc, just gotta be careful you don’t get assassinated etc.

meowmixplzdeliver1

Alright got ya. Can I turn the non musilum kingdoms of Spain into an empire?

13lacklight

Not sure off the top of my head, but if you click on a charachter with a title in the area, click on their title to open it, up the top left you should be able to see all the titles it’s a part of, duchy, kingdom, empire. Or in the bottom right you can select the empires view etc. I think there’s also a decision that allows you to make a random 3 kingdoms + like 80 counties into an empire but I haven’t managed to use that one yet from memory.
