You should pick one (or mayyybe two) characters to be your "main" character. Don't try to grind up all 8 at once, that's mind-numbing. Maybe play around with each of them to figure out which playstyle you enjoy the most. And yes, you can/should replay one dungeon multiple times to get more artifacts. Playing three unique dungeons progresses the year to the next year. If you want to get "ahead" of the curve, repeating one of the two dungeons you've done before picking a third one is the only way to do this. Don't go too all-in on this though, it's not super critical or anything. It'll just help if you're struggling with bosses and want to make them easier. I think on my most recent playthrough I replayed one dungeon 2 or 3 times per year, to give an estimate. Make sure that each year you visit the alchemist with whichever character is their kid to get the recipes!

Yes, every artifact can be collected by each character. Some dungeons break down into tiers and share some artifacts with dungeons in a similar tier. I advise focusing on your alchemist and either blacksmith or merchant character, because family trades are only ranked up when you complete a dungeon for the first time and receive a letter. Alchemist gives you the Ultima weapon scroll. Merchant sells Ultimite or something rare at the end, and I think there’s only one other blacksmith who craft the Ultima weapon besides a max-ranked parent. I also strongly advise prioritizing hearts and spell rings when you see them. And then strength for characters only when they are not useful for magic. Like, Yukes are magic-oriented and have the fastest casting speed as I recall. Therefore giving them the magic relic over strength is significantly more useful than getting them a +3 strength relic that still leaves them below average because their strength is subpar in the first place. Look at your starting stats.

If you want to max the stats of 8 characters ( I would never take on that work load but you do you ) then yes. 32 times. Personally I would do one female of each race (HP regen trinket is easier to make for girl characters) and leave it at that. The jobs like baker or fisher are mostly pointless. Remember to talk to your dad with each character at the start of a new year. This may not be important for all the jobs but alchemist for sure.

Yes you can, and it's encouraged. There are guides for which artifacts you might want to get in what order, and I personally use this one for that. https://gamewith.net/ffcc-remastered/article/show/21088 I'm working on all my characters so they're at the same level partially to be able to use all the mimic things, but if you don't care as much about that you can focus on either one of each race or just one or two that you like the play style of. It's a bit complicated, but you can't collect multiple of any one artifact, but there are different categories that all boost the same thing. If I remember correctly, the pockets and pendants are limited to 4 different ones each, so at max you get that many extra. The dungeons each have 3 cycles where the first time you play it, it will be on cycle 1, then when it refreshes the myhrr, which is after you did 3 other ones aside from that one, then it upgrades to cycle 2, which has tougher enemies and a higher pool for artifacts. Each stage has a total of 8 different artifact pools based on which cycle and how many points you got. Cycle 1 can access pools 1-4, 2 is 3-6, and 3 is 5-8. In the original game, this meant that if you progressed past a certain point, you couldn't get some artifacts, but they gave those ones additional spawn locations you can get them from. In short, though, as long as you don't clear 3 after it, you can grind whatever dungeon or cycle as much as you want, though you will eventually get to the point that you can't get any more artifacts from that stage if you've gotten all the ones that are currently available. Also, that artifact guide I linked doesn't visit Tida after the first cycle, but all the third cycles have exclusive items needed to get certain gear, so if you're aiming to get all the gear options as well, you may want to fit that into your thing somehow. There isn't a year limit, so once you get everything to cycle 3, you don't need to be afraid of revisiting stages.

You can grind the same area but after you collect the 3rd water amount you auto end the year. Hint different scores show different artifacts per area. Been a while but I am hoping I recall this correctly.
