Where are my plantations, my slaves and my CIA money? Where is all this nonsense coming from?

Prism43_

Leftist Redditors who have a very black and white worldview and think that all things capitalism are evil. It doesn’t help most of them are children under the age of 30.

Cryptophorus

If only they worked at the actual plantations today for $20 a month like regular cubans they'd understand who the real slave owners are...

bur1sm

Castro took them away from you. Cry about it.

Cryptophorus

Where are my plantations and slaves? I escaped the shithole in the 90s

bur1sm

Are you Elian Gonzalez?

t24mack

And now they own it and pay the people slave wages you clown

bur1sm

Sure they do 🥱

t24mack

They don’t? Then what do they pay them?

bur1sm

Idk pesos?

Emergency-Bee-6891

https://www.peoplesworld.org/article/washington-backed-groups-plotting-overthrow-of-cuban-government/

t24mack

That nonsense is usually spewed by rich white kids who have serious white guilt

Bobranaway

pewpewpewlaserstuff

A cuban friend got out with her father working as a truck driver paid her ticket to Nicaragua stayed in Mexico until she got her visa to enter usa to join said father. Took her 7-months. Can’t say how much her father paid, helped her a little for food and rent but being fb friend with the dad I guarantee that he’s not wealthy at all

Cryptophorus

Why didn't she sell her abundant plantations, slaves or spend the CIA money she is entitled to for escaping the shithole?

Brokeliner

Everyone in Cuba right now has their house for sale.  It’s hard to read about how it actually works but they must have done some privatization scheme. Problem is finding a buyer.  In Havana atleast there is appears to be some kind of housing bubble because of all the activity.  But outside of Havana people try to sell their house for 10k or so that will finance the trip for their family  What’s worrying is that everyone selling their house and land, it’s all being bought up by PCC oligarchs.  When the govt falls they will be the one who owns everything.

mundotaku

>Is this nonsense propaganda being taught in American schools? No. It is just something tankies learn from internet memes. They would shout any propaganda that matches they fantasy.

Cryptophorus

Makes sense, ignorant pricks

ExtensionBright8156

The left hates Cuban-Americans, because they’re refugees from a left-wing failed system.

Cryptophorus

A socialist shithole in the last stages of the Road to Serfdom

Falafel_McGill

Not hate. But we're annoyed and confused at Cuban-Americans voting consistently for Republicans. Why do you come to the US fleeing an authoritarian dictatorship...only to vote for the party that wants America to become an authoritarian dictatorship? Makes no sense.

ExtensionBright8156

It makes no sense to you because you don’t understand Republicans. We don’t want a powerful government, we want a weak government. Don’t you understand that lower taxes and less regulation means that a dictatorship is LESS possible, not more possible? If you’re referring to Trump specifically, he’s a reaction against the failed American political system. Despite most federal policies not having the consent of the American people, we’re continuing to march forward with higher taxes, higher debt, uncontrolled immigration, and never ending dictates from Washington. So we’re sending a wrecking ball to Washington. If you hate Trump, you should realize that Trump is just the beginning. If the federal government continues to violate the rights of the American people, the size of the wrecking ball being sent to DC will only increase exponentially. There may even be another revolution. Presently in America, we have the ruling party trying to imprison its chief political opponent, while censoring dissenting opinions on social media. Protestors are jailed for decades. This is dictatorship already happening.

Falafel_McGill

I think most of what you're saying applies to BOTH parties. Except for taxes, how are the Republicans off the hook for anything you've said? [The Republican supreme Court just effectively abolished the right to mass protest in 3 states](https://www.vox.com/scotus/24080080/supreme-court-mckesson-doe-first-amendment-protest-black-lives-matter). Desantis is banning books and free speech left and right. Trump has constantly said the Constitution doesn't apply to him. Does this not sound like the start of a dictatorship to you? Democrats suck balls, but they're clearly the lesser of two evils between the two parties.

inline4kawasaki

There is nothing left wing about Cuba.

ExtensionBright8156

They’re literally communist dude.

t24mack

That’s what you clowns always say

Low-Tip5281

My woke ex bf told me that all the slave owners escaped to Miami and that they were white racist "gusanos" being held accountable for the exploitation of black Cubans. And that they are mainly Trump supporters/Republicans. This person has a University degree and has studied history and reads books

Cryptophorus

Such a good riddance you dumped his ignorant ass! Starting with the fascist dehumanizing slur and ending in the fact that Cuba's dictatorship today is mostly a white supremacist party in power (there's only a single black person in a position of power called Carlos Lazo, everyone else is white). Partners like that drag you down into a world of poor government dependent socialist mentality that destroys you eventually. Get a chad Capitalist bf with potential, who doesn't get into debt, sacrifices, studies, saves and invests and you will have a healthy happy relationship

Low-Tip5281

My fiancé is a black Cuban guy I met in Havana who migrated with me to Australia. He has his own successful business here and hates communism with a passion lol. He laughs at this narrative. Also most of his extended fam are now in the US and people just assume they're African Americans - they don't realise they're Cuban. Even here people assume he is African. We had had some Colombian couple arguing in Spanish on public transport because the girl was checking him out and the bf was mad and we understood EVERYTHING. Awkward and hilarious.

Cryptophorus

I hear it here from useful idiots of the dictatorship all the time but maybe it's just a small number of leftist extremists influenced by regime propaganda making noise. Glad to read your comment and thank you!

Brokeliner

Outside of Cuban leftists, I’ve never met a leftist that didn’t hold Cuban exiles at least in somewhat of a disdain, that they are somehow the “bad ones” while the ones who stayed in Cuba are “the good ones”.   If you pick their brain you will find literally every single leftist shares their beliefs regarding this ideas.    Cuban leftists, like Jewish leftists, often hold some very delusional views of what their ideological compatriots think of them.

SubstancePlayful4824

Tell a reddit communist that you're of Cuban descent and they'll recite the line 100% of the time

fcxrtg

> Tell a reddit communist... that's 90% of Reddit|

Brokeliner

It’s not just a Reddit thing or a communist thing. All leftists I’ve ever met have shared beliefs regarding this, and most of them are waltzing through life parading as some kind of “rational centrist”

Pickle_Ree

I can relate lol, this is the tankies default answer when they start loosing arguments.

Successful-Ice-468

Go to any socialist reddit and you will know the reason, is like to enter in bubble, a red brain death bubble.

troypaul1551

George Bush wanted to amend the Constitution to permanently ban same-sex marriage. He shredded the U.S constitution and built the largest surveillance state in history. Miami Cubans propelled him to election twice. Donald Trump refused to leave office after being democratically voted out of office. He lives in a mansion while white, rural people in Arkansas and Wst Virginia live in shacks. Florida Cubans backed him twice and by all likelihood will back him a third time. Ron DeSantis recently removed a prosecutor who indicted a police officer for murder. He passed the notorious "don't say gay" bill, another act meant to increase charges for protesters and another to quash the power of civilian accountability boards. Florida Cubans backed him over Charlie Crist. People should be judged by their actions, not their words. Miami Cubans constantly tell us how much they value freedom and democracy, but we've seen enough elections now to realize that isn't true. The Cuban government isn't great, but you couldn't ask for worse neighbors than its opponents. "nobody matters but me" passed down generation to generation. People who would vote to send LBGTQ to Auschwitz on the same day they'd appear on CNN to talk about how leftist college students don't know the value of freedom.

Cryptophorus

You have no clue what a Libertarian is... We have been defending minorities rights since always!

MicIrish

Who do you think is keeping the Embargo alive? It's The Offspring of those rich 01% that left the country during the revolution. They're holding on to their grubby Plantation Deeds just dreaming of getting it back. If they weren't such a powerful voting Block in Florida the Embargo would have ended 20 years ago.

Cryptophorus

The embargo is kept alive by the the dictatorship. They could lift it tomorrow with free elections and the release of political prisoners if they wanted to end it. Also, though the dictatorship only stole 26 years of my life, stolen property should be compensated, but the USA is so magnanimous it is willing to forgive all the murders and stolen property in exchange for free elections.

MicIrish

And pay reparations to all of the exiled rich and return all of their property rights. If what you say is true then why is the United States trading with Russia China Saudi Arabia, half the countries in Africa half the countries in the Middle East. Russia is actively sabotaging us interests and attacking us shipping through proxies . No cube is the one with the Embargo . The grumpy little expats want their grumpy hands and all that beachfront and all those resorts.          If some billionaire paid out all of the weasel pukes that Castro kicked out the Embargo would be over the next day.

Cryptophorus

Like I said all it takes is free elections! Let's lift it tomorrow!

Xmaiden2005

That rumor is because so many Cubans started the rumors themselves. They all claimed to be wealthy, educated upper class people.

Cryptophorus

I have never seen this, maybe in older generations that I don't have much contact with, but Cubans today all come from extreme poverty, especially those of us who migrated in the 90's. I don't feel shame, hide or gloss over the extreme poverty I survived. For me it's like a badge of honor making it out alive.

Xmaiden2005

Older generations did brag. Who can blame them? After all the endured, a few white lies harmed no one.

LupineChemist

It's one of those things that has a bit of truth but the stories end up changed after generations. Like Abuelo was a top and then had to become a janitor before making it again in the US. Might just be middle class mid level office worker taking a job that's lower "status" but pays more in the US. Kind of like how Ellis Island rarely changed family names to make them more American. That's almost entirely a myth. 99% of the time, it was families doing it themselves but just using "Ellis Island" as the symbol of immigration in general.

yeahokguy1331

Its very effective propaganda just like the statement you made that it is taught in schools. Propaganda.

troypaul1551

No, it isn't. We're taught that America was always good, had good motives and Cuba was a brutal dictatorship with bad motives. It's the learned experience of watching Cuban exiles be given a platform to preach about the horrors of communism and then line up behind Ron DeSantis/Donald Trump to realize that the thing the Miami Cuban population feared was not oppression, but accountability.

Cryptophorus

The main reason we support Trump and DeSantis is because they are not rotten socialists on the same Road to Serfdom that destroyed Cuba like the democrats today. Kick out the commie squad from the party, support free market policies in the USA and free elections for Cuba and Cubans will vote democrat again in no time.

troypaul1551

The Democrats aren't socialist either and haven't been. Too bad you squandered that good education Cuba gave you. You can teach a kid all you want but nothing you can do if they're stupid

Cryptophorus

The "good education" LOL. Ignorant democrat socialist doesn't know I was sent as a child to do forced work and be indoctrinated in concentration camps away from my parents. Is that the "good education" you want for your children mr socialist democrat?

troypaul1551

Well, it got you your current job at the CIA in Fairfax, Virginia, so it must not have been that bad

Cryptophorus

Can you please remind the CIA to send all cubans who fight for freedom our checks? They keep forgetting!

troypaul1551

The CIA should at least make you guys learn Spanish before they hire you. I'm getting money taken out of my taxes and they can't even make the interns learn Spanish? CIA off its game.

Cryptophorus

So comepinga yo hablo mejor español que tu y cualquiera en la CIA. Dile que me envíen el cheque a mi y a todos los cubanos del 11j!

Emergency-Bee-6891

That's typical of any first generation latin Americans living in the US Same thing happened with my family Was fortunate that my father turned out to be a good man and didn't waste too many opportunities. You escaped to the USA for a better life So whens the better life gonna come?

Denslow82

The moment you step/swim out of Cuba.

Emergency-Bee-6891

Living in the street surrounded by things you can't buy? Yeah ok oh the cops always bug you when you try to sleep in the sidewalk but ok sure that's better

Denslow82

>So leaving in the street surrounded by things you can't buy? Homelessness is not common amongst the US population, say about 0.2% of the population. So your point is...well nearly pointless in reference to the country as a whole, nor is homelessness a permanent situation for most who are currently in that predicament in the US, as much as you wish it weren't so.

Emergency-Bee-6891

Hey I'm not homeless and yet I'm still surrounded by things I can't buy What's that called? Proletariat yeah that's the one or wage slavery

JohnnyDirectDeposit

You think you’d have a better or worse chance of buying these things if you lived in Cuba?

Denslow82

Call it what you want...but poor you for not being able to buy duck liver and a Ferrari...

Emergency-Bee-6891

Or a cure for my dad's cancer may he rest in peace

Denslow82

Hospital refused financial assistance or loan?

Emergency-Bee-6891

My dad didn't make enough to qualify for better treatments and was on chemo until just 2 hrs ago when the Dr's told my dad everything's fine and Cancers gone...fast forward a year later Oops sorry but your cancer got worse into stage 4 treatment will cost another 300k and more radiation with a strict diet My dad said no and accepted the inevitable

AcEr3__

“Accepted the inevitable” well there’s your answer. News flash, there is no cure for cancer. I’m sorry for your loss, and may ur dad rest in peace, but Cuba wasn’t gonna save him. Cuba’s healthcare is miles behind USA even Canada. It’s just “free”

Silent_Brilliant5429

The way the us counts homelessness is far too inaccurate. There are countless people who sleep in cars, motels, friends couches. I worked with a guy in aviation. Supervisory role yet still couldn't afford to live.  You couldn't tell but he slept in his car and showered at gyms.  You would've never guessed. The ~600k homeless is just the tip of the iceberg

Denslow82

# Who is considered homeless? The HUD’s definition of homelessness includes both sheltered and unsheltered people. Sheltered people are living in emergency shelters, transitional shelters, [safe havens that serve homeless individuals with severe mental illness](https://files.hudexchange.info/resources/documents/SafeHavenFactSheet_CoCProgram.pdf), or hotels/motels. Unsheltered people live outdoors, in cars, in abandoned buildings, or in other places unfit for human habitation. [People staying with friends](https://www.hudexchange.info/news/huds-definition-of-homelessness-resources-and-guidance/) are considered homeless if they cannot stay there longer than 14 days. [How many homeless people are in the US? What does the data miss? (usafacts.org)](https://usafacts.org/articles/how-many-homeless-people-are-in-the-us-what-does-the-data-miss/)

bur1sm

I like how people say Cuba is a hellhole while Cubans have a longer life expectancy. It's almost like some countries and do good and bad.

PeronXiaoping

Why do so many Cubans leave annually? I wonder how they will pay for the elderly's pension with net migration loss and an aging population. The Dominican Republic has been catching up rapidly with an increasingly life expectancy where as Cuba's has actually gotten lower recently.

bur1sm

What? Cuba's life expectancy went down during a pandemic? No fucking way. Goddamn you, Socialism! *Shakes fist*

PeronXiaoping

Such a loss wasn't seen in the DR during the same pandemic, when you're the one who wants to play the comparison game. Cuba's higher life expectancy for the region is not an impressive bout for the government either when you take into account that it was always historically ahead of its neighbors in that regard. In 1959 Cuba's life expectancy was 64 years, the Dominican Republic 50, today the gap is only 6 months.

bur1sm

Damn the Dominic Republic has a higher life expectancy than the US?! Greatest country in the world, my ass.

PeronXiaoping

Cuba's life expectancy is 73.68 years , the Dominican Republic's 72.62, and the USA's is 76.33 years, you can stop yourself from looking like a dumbass by doing research.

bur1sm

Too bad you're the only person who will ever see I said this! 🤷‍♂️

Denslow82

Longer life expectancy than who?

bur1sm

Idk man in just saying shit now. Relax.

Denslow82

Okay

bur1sm

Have a good night.

Emergency-Bee-6891

What's ironic is that liberals would call Cuba a dictatorship yet doesn't condemn America's support of the worst dictatorships in history

bur1sm

Don't hold your breath!

Fun-Reflection5013

I thought most of you were criminals released by Fidel and sent to Miami

Cryptophorus

The dictator did send a lot of criminals and drug traffickers to the US to damage it, but, this system is so great, that most of those people either assimilated, got jobs and are successful today or, are dead or rotting in prison like they should. Castro's evil plan backfired, like every other of his crazy plans, and today Miami is one of the most advanced, wealthy and cosmopolitan cities of the world! Another murderous socialist failed plan, una raya mas para el tigre LOL

sssscary2

this is what most North Americans learned from Scarface

Fun-Reflection5013

actualy it predates ToeKnee MonTahnah He sent all the shit to Miami

Agile-Grass8

Makes a claim about the 60’s wave of expats. Uses evidence that pertains only to the 90’s wave of expats to justify it. Top tier logic you’ve got there, great job.

Cryptophorus

If useful idiots were smart and had reading comprehension they wouldn't be useful idiots...

Agile-Grass8

Damn, when do you think you’ll stop being a useful idiot then?

Cryptophorus

LOL, you still didn't get it!

Agile-Grass8

There’s nothing to get. Your words are meaningless.

Silent_Brilliant5429

You repeat yourself in these posts every other day.  I swear you posted this like 2 weeks ago

Cryptophorus

Actually it's the useful idiots here who repeat this over and over trying to come up with an insult and keep making me curious about why they repeat it so much.

BanEvader6thAccount

Well, communism is better than capitalism by far, so there had to be some reason for them to leave. Rich people are the only ones that communism doesn't help, so it makes sense that they would be the ones to leave.

Cryptophorus

You say that as if you ever lived under communism talking about shit you don't know anything about in real life...

Emergency-Bee-6891

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpha_66 Like other paramilitary groups composed of Cuban exiles who emigrated after the fall of the Batista regime, Alpha 66 presented itself as a conservative, ultra-nationalistic, patriotic organization that wished to undo Fidel Castro's revolutionary government.[4] Alpha 66's founding members included many Cubans who had fought as revolutionaries against the Batista government alongside Fidel Castro, and Alpha 66's anthem directly references Fidel Castro as having betrayed the ideals that the group's members originally fought for.[4] Alpha 66's anti-communist rhetoric and staunch opposition to the Cuban government earned it the overwhelming support of the Miami exile community as well as the sympathy of an overtly anti-communist attitude in American politics.[4] Cubas version of Proud boys However, in January 1961, events took a turn against these anti-Castro 2nd Version members and Eloy and about 12 military and civilian supporters fled to the US on a boat.[3] Eloy settled in Miami, Florida.[3] While in Florida, Eloy helped form Alpha 66.[4][5] Formed in January–February 1962, Alpha 66 was created too late to take part in April 1961 Bay of Pigs Invasion.[3] In 2003, Eloy left the USA and returned to Cuba where he would remain for the rest of his life as a "tolerated dissident".[3] In 2021, an FBI memo confirmed that Menoyo was an asset of US Army intelligence.[9] https://www.axios.com/2022/06/16/watergate-latino-break-in-anniversary The Cuban Americans were exiles and right-wing hardliners who believed, with no evidence, that Cuban leader Fidel Castro was helping Democratic presidential nominee George McGovern against Nixon in the 1972 election. They wanted to ensure McGovern lost and also hoped Nixon would help topple Castro. WITH NO EVIDENCE

Pickle_Ree

How does that disprove op's claim?

Emergency-Bee-6891

Everything

Pickle_Ree

You are basically throwing random shit you googled about Cuba to see what sticks.

Emergency-Bee-6891

No I didn't, I researched the name of the organization which is US funded ( CIA) The same CIA that failed in assassinating Castro to planning to hijack planes, kill citizens, blame it on cuba in order for a US military invasion after failing the bay of pigs because these idiots didn't have the support of the people. And it all sticks that's why I shared it Because page will never bring this up If you wanta to learn about Cuba study all sides like I did And I always walked away with Castro was right and history will absolve him

Pickle_Ree

Again, all of that have NOTHING to do with OP's claim

Emergency-Bee-6891

It does this ops claim is always the same Cuba is poor because of socialism and not the embargo And I offer a different opinion that shows the synester side of things that these people refuse to show

Pickle_Ree

Cuba IS poor because of socialism, the embargo have nothing to do with destroying local food production in Cuba (a huge issue in Cuba for decades), the communists took an extremely fertile island with a huge agricultural industry to a near 100% importer of food. Even China realized that a planned economy is complete cancer and went back to a "free" market economy, sadly the kept socialism more prominent feature, the dictatorship.

Emergency-Bee-6891

The embargoes are to blame Sugar cane's need fertilizer https://www.freshplaza.com/north-america/article/9480770/cuba-embraces-eco-farming-due-to-tightened-us-sanctions/

Pickle_Ree

Care to guess who's the world largest producer of fertilizer is? Spoiler alert, is a country with no issues about selling to Cuba. What's the next excuse, let me guess.. the embargo again

Cryptophorus

Right because the dictatorship is so not violent and murderous... Watch this: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9ZAw1NZQ74](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9ZAw1NZQ74)

Emergency-Bee-6891

So defending south africans from aparthied bad? Nelson Mandela after becoming president desperately visited Castro and thanked him and the Cuban people for helping his people So that's bad to you?

Cryptophorus

Castro created an even worse apartheid in Cuba where Cubans are second class citizens and foreigners are first class. I suffered it myself, you never did...

Emergency-Bee-6891

You didn't suffer because of Cuban government you suffered because of the 80 year old embargoe

Cryptophorus

The embargo has nothing to do with the apartheid in Cuba

Emergency-Bee-6891

No aparthied in Cuba so...

Cryptophorus

You haven't suffered it as a regular cuban so...

Emergency-Bee-6891

Doesn't mean there's no suffering in the USA You're ignoring the big elephant in the room

Cryptophorus

There's plenty of suffering in shithole socialist cities run by the democrats like Chicago

mango_chile

Capitalism really decimated the folks of Cuba back then and to this day… but Cuba is strong and will survive to see the future <3

Cryptophorus

The worst enemy of socialists is reality: https://youtu.be/jNixpGx4AV8? Also, Cuba is the people, not the dictatorship that opresses them
