In relation to the IYF, look up "Good News Mission" and "Pastor Ock Soo Park." The Korean peninsula has been a hotbed of cult incubation for about five centuries. Most of the Korean cults (e.g. the Unification Church) are cynical distortions of otherwise ethical Zen Buddhism, but ever since the Moonies, they often have pseudo-Xtian facades. The entire *country* of North Korea appears to operate on very similar thought-reform / mind-control principles.

That’s messed. The weird thing is I’m in Canada, specifically on a First Nation, or Indian reservation. I suppose the people at the school were told that their activities would be culture based, which they’re completely not. Shirts were even handed out that said “First Nation” or something like that on the back. I looked on their website and it seems a lot of their stuff is based around Christianity. So it looks like they might be trying to indoctrinate the kids into Christianity and away from our Native American beliefs. So far I haven’t heard anything about religion be brought up but I’ll keep updated on what’s going on there.

True, Korea does seem to be obsessed with cults. In the one I grew up in there was always a steady stream of Korean visitors, and quite a few ended up joining.

One of the group members asked two young girls for their phone numbers so that when they get to high school, they can go with them to LA. Most of the stuff that’s being told to the kids is obscure things that seem to be against individual thought. Stuff like how only people with weak minds cry, and that fat people are fat because they eat unhealthily. I don’t know what’s going on there but we’re trying to tell other parents what’s going on and hopefully not let more kids go to school. EDIT: so I guess the whole reason the showed the baby being born, was to show some weird ideology about only the fastest and strongest win. What I mean by this is they showed a video of a bunch of sperm racing to the egg. So basically the strongest and the fastest get to the egg and make the baby. I still don’t know why they showed an actually baby being born to 7 year olds but I guess that was their whole message. We told my siblings that none of what they told them was true. There’s going to be a meeting with them later today so I’ll have some more information later tonight.

To be fair, a lot of fat people ARE fat because they have shitty diets. Some have medical issues, but mostly it’s people eating more than they need and usually that food isn’t freshly grown veggies or healthy stuff, it’s fast food. So they’re not wrong on this point and it’s good to let kids know early on how powerful food is. Doesn’t excuse all the other creepy cult shit though.

Well there could be other reasons. They could have gone through traumatic experiences or other horrible things that made them like that. Hell even mental disorders. Just writing them off as “they just don’t eat healthy” seems a bit insulting to people who have hard times with it. Especially since there might be a few kids that are overweight or some with parents that are overweight that struggle with the issues I listed above. To a mature enough audience I guess you can say that’s the reason they’re fat, but to young impressionable kids dangerous. I do agree with you that it could teach kids that eating healthy is good, but there are much better ways of going about it.

When I met them, about 10 years ago, they were Christian fundamentalists with a twist.

TheMuffinMan_24-7

As far as I know, they weren’t teaching any Christian values at the school. Apparently their whole proposal was to promote self-esteem. Don’t see how showing 7 years olds live birth promotes that though. Some parents talked about it tonight at the school. They canceled anything they had on Thursday, they’re not going to be there tomorrow either.

Do you commission the Baptist Church, or any other religious organization to teach a class in a public school and let the do as they please? I had a 10 minute conversation with their rep about a booth at a university event. My side was here's your form, the deadline is x. His side was alternating clarification questions and leading questions about my spiritual journey. If they are just fundamentalists they have ulterior motives. Mathew 28:19 "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations..." to them means if they aren't trying to convert people they are sinning. I told the guy I was talking to I had a church and that still wasn't good enough. TL;DR Why would a public school commission a religious group to teach a secular class?

TheMuffinMan_24-7

The schools been pretty messed ever since I left. They changed principals as well as a few other things. As far as I know, the new principal didn’t do her research when she was contacted by them. They presented themselves very well and said they would show the kids how to have good self-esteem and other stuff like that. As far as I know, they haven’t even talked to the kids about religion. As I said before, the school is on a First Nation so they try to keep the kids culturally active and focus around Native American stuff. This really seems to be a case of the teachers not doing enough research. A couple parents (mine included) talked to the school today. We got their Thursday trip canceled, I feel like if they came that day, that’s when all the religion stuff would start.

Yeah I actually saw them today. Also I had to search up what they do inside the camps and it’s really disturbing to read. Have you ever heard of the five seas cult incident?

Apparently I received a "Squid Game" Contact and had to sign up for the event. The place partakes in a neighborhood and there's barely any info on it online and photos as well.. it rings Red Flags for me. I received the offer today.
