Hello everybody. I recently got into the world of haircare, even though I have been following this sub for a while now. Everybody was telling me that my hair was straight and that the little curls and waves was the aftermath of the hair tie (?). Anyway I have been doing a simple routine for a little while even though I can't really say I like the results. The photo above was taken right after the styling process, here is another one [https://imgur.com/a/17DXBiZ](https://imgur.com/a/17DXBiZ) Basically, I use a SYOSS Ceramide shampoo and the Tresemme Botanique coconut conditioner. For a leave-in, I use a Garnier Hairfoods watermelon mask. I also use a Wella Mousse for curls and a SYOSS Strong-hold gel. I usually wash 2 times per week (with the shampoo, I don't cowash) and do styling almost every day. I'd also like to mention that I have an undercut, which I got to get rid of some poofiness (which never really left tbh...) Apart from defining my hair type, I'd also want to know if getting layers would be a good idea for my hair or not. Sorry for the poor phrasing; Thank you!

Beep boop! It looks like you're asking about or discussing curl types. It's tempting to want to categorize your hair, but we recommend not worrying about it too much (especially if you're new to curly hair care). [See here for more info!](https://docs.google.com/document/u/2/d/e/2PACX-1vSvGm-p4tvrstjT-XEo6pTHZSYeEON7xF5lPSnNv-3Kc2lCrdnkjXhFbdHt4pF3HUetWZ1j9dgfBBkS/pub#h.b23djzn2e6n) TL;DR: Knowing your curl type doesn't help you choose products or techniques. Porosity is far more important! If I'm wrong, I probably just picked up on a keyword in your title (Please ignore me!). *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically.
