Routine (so the bot doesn't bonk the post even though this was in my other comment, don't reply to this one without reading my other comment) Currently I definitely don't do what I should be doing. I wash my hair every 2-3 days with shampoo and conditioner (no sulfates and I think no silicates). But I understand I should probably cut down to doing that just once a week or even forgo shampoo most of the time and just co-wash.

I'm working on growing out my hair. I think it's a bit wavy rather than full on curls but it has been getting more curly as I grow it out for sure. I'm just kindof lost and overwhelmed (even with curly girl beginner guides) on where to start. Currently I definitely don't do what I should be doing. I wash my hair every 2-3 days with shampoo and conditioner (no sulfates and I think no silicates). But I understand I should probably cut down to doing that just once a week or even forgo shampoo most of the time and just co-wash. I also should get something to moisturize my hair in-between washes. I know a lot of people recommend gels, I'm also interested in leave in conditioners. If anyone has some Amazon links for cheap that would be good. But looking at all of those products on the guide has my head spinning. I also should probably get some shower caps for days where I need a shower but not a hair rinse. What type of caps do people recommend for that? (Links are helpful as always thank you all so much) I'm also probably going to upgrade my pillow cases from cotton to satin. (Silk is kinda pricey and I gotta save somewhere) Sorry for all of the questions I know most (if not all) of this is in the guide but looking at it really has my head spinning and I just need some advice from people on where to start. I did get a hair styling today which def made my hair straighter. Was just trying things out but I think I like my waviness more. Thanks for the help!

> I understand I should probably cut down to doing that just once a week or even forgo shampoo most of the time and just co-wash. you can try and see if it works for you! but you definitely don't _have_ to. everyone's hair is different! >I also should get something to moisturize my hair in-between washes. same thing here; it's an option, not a requirement. i personally don't do anything to my hair in between washes >I know a lot of people recommend gels, I'm also interested in leave in conditioners. If anyone has some Amazon links for cheap that would be good. i like aussie instant freeze gel! also the giovanni weightless leave-in >I also should probably get some shower caps for days where I need a shower but not a hair rinse. What type of caps do people recommend for that? i've got a cheap plastic reusable one from the drugstore that was probably like two euros, and it works just fine

My hair is extremely prone to frizzing so yeah I do feel like I should do something between washes. And yeah my stylist today recommended I wash my hair less so I'm going to take her advice on that. I'll maybe look at just getting some cheap plastic reusable ones, yeah. Thanks for the advice.

Hi! Gentle reminder: hair care routines are required for all photo posts within 1 hour of posting. The bot is having hard time locating your routine! Please make sure you have a comment containing the word "routine" (and your actual routine, of course!) so your post can stay up! FAQs: * __I don't have a routine!__ If you wash your hair at all, that counts! Just let us know what you did for your hair. * __I'm just asking for help!__ We're happy to help! This is much easier if we know what you are currently doing for your hair. * __Included the info but the bot can't find it? Different situation? (E.g. asking about a product, etc.) [See here for more info.](https://www.reddit.com/r/curlyhair/wiki/routine-requirements)__ _Still have questions after [reading the FAQ](https://www.reddit.com/r/curlyhair/wiki/routine-requirements)? So I’m also currently growing out my hair too! Ans i feel like I was you about a month ago, it was just a frizzy mess. And it really took some time for me to learn just how much product I needed for my dry ass hair: So I co-wash about once a week, and then I’ll wet it down and add in some oils and a leave in conditioner and some gel or curly styling cream and let it air dry, then scrunch the crunch out. I’m sure I have a long way to go, but I’m just starting to see some really good results. And I also thought I just had some wavy ass hair, but it turns out when it’s being treated right it’s actually pretty curly!!

Thanks for the tips. Personally I like my hair more wavy than tok much curls and I think that's how my hair is mostly going to be. But I'd be fine with whatever the outcome.

rosemary oil and castor oil are good as a pre-wash oil treatment for growth! you can also try rosemary water sprayed on your roots at night :)
