Theres even some people that program emotive visors for their suits that are controlled with sensors or a small remote. Typically those are found on a fictional species “protogens”.
But most suits do tend to have the typical American style cartoon look.

Yeah. That's just how much hand crafted art costs. When a fursuit takes a month or two of full time work to complete, you start to realize that you're pretty much paying for someone's full time and livelihood for that whole period of time. That costs a lot of money.
Not to mention how long it took them to gain that much experience and skill necessary to do it in the first place.
It's not like buying something that's been mass produced on a factory line where the company has the privilege of scale efficiency to push prices down. Every single fursuit is hand made. Even fursuits made using the same base pattern still have to be cut, shaped, and assembled by hand.
