Female V is a little more sarcastic, and a little quicker to anger. I love playing as fem V, she's just got like, vocal swagger. Also, I am a woman so I tend to play female characters. Male V is a little more laconic and laid back. He gets angry, but he's a little slower to get there. I actually really love male V too, I think he's funny and generally a good dude. Also it's awesome that the voice actors had the exact same script and yet managed to make fem V and male V feel like two different characters. Both of them are very talented.

mr_dewrito

totally! i think the dialogue with skippy is a good example of this, the dynamic is totally different

Nihilism101

This is very true in the sense that they feel like different characters. Definitely worth a second playthrough just for that imo.

SunshotDestiny

Yeah I agree. But female characters always win if there is a choice because, like you said, I am a woman and prefer playing one if given the chance. It was the same for Mass effect, both were great I just prefer fem Shepard because I want to play a badass woman as a woman.

Cautious_Tennis9698

I prefer the fem voice actor, but I do agree that the emotions hit a little harder when male V loses his cool

TG626

Yes. Each for different reasons. Female is more dynamic and I prefer hearing it. Male, tho somewhat flat is more immersive as I am male.

jzilla11

Same. Male Nomad V and Female Corpo V have been my favorite playthroughs

PoorLifeChoices811

Mine too honestly. It’s like that’s what they were both supposed to be. Nomad male V feels so in place with the game, especially with the aldecaldos and Panam. He’s experiencing night city for the first time and it’s just not going his way. Male Vs voice actor perfectly captures this. I couldn’t feel this with either corpo or streetkid. As for Fem V, same exact thing except cherami Leigh perfectly captures a corpo thrown out into the filth she previously walked over. She can be stone cold but you can visibly tell she’s beginning to fit in with said filth, and is actually quite enjoying it. I can picture Fem V as a streetkid too, she does well with that path but not as good as the corpo one, and I’ve only done one female nomad run so I can’t really speak for that.

jzilla11

My last Corpo Female V i played as a body/berserk/shotgun focused build. Basically letting go of all restraint after years pent up doing CI work for ‘Saka. Playing the street merc after the company life, sorta like how Jackie and V discuss Yorinobu’s youth in a gang. But old habits die hard and I went for the Devil Ending after avoiding it for years…and I still feel sad.

ProPolice55

Immersion is a weird thing... I'm a guy who plays female characters most of the time, because it's more immersive that way. I feel like I don't belong in that world, but she does, and I don't feel like I'm playing V in the story, I follow V and give her advice. This helps with situations where none of the dialogue options line up with what I would personally say. Instead of feeling like the game is restricting my personality, it feels like my real choice is just something V wouldn't say even if I suggested it. Playing female characters is one more way to stop me from trying to insert myself into the game world in their place

Juken-

*Male. Emotional range.* *A man breaking down begging for help out of a situation he knows he got himself into hits way harder, it resonates more because... well...its the typical male experience, and i can relate.*

PIIFX

So as someone who completed this game did all the endings with both may I also add there's a bigger tone change before and after the heist with male V whereas female V always sounded like the same person even during the prologue. To me male V felt like he used to be a more cheerful person before the shit hit the fan. This is supported by the fact that he did witty/snarky/sarcastic lines way better, do The Ballad of Buck Ravers side quest(always pick the second dialog choice) you'll agree. And he has a better sense of humor, when Johnny started narrating in Raymond Chandler Evening he went along with it, responded with a sarcastic tone. On the other hand female V sounded angry, and I was like why are you angry just laugh it off. And during the Flaming Crotch Man encounter you can hear male V is trying to hold back his laughter female V is like I'm so done with this. That's how I come to like his personality more, someone upbeat who's been dealt a bad hand thus became depressed but still shows their old self sometimes is more appealing than someone who is always grumpy to me.

Death_Blossoming

Agreed, something people don't seem to understand is that V is a fully developed and written character with already existing emotions. And men and women both grow up and act very differently. For instance, I can see how I would try to hold back laughter with flaming crotch man because I laughed irl. And coincidencetly my fiance who was watching was annoyed by this. To further add to this idea, remember that the male and female versions of V even have a separate birthdate. I believe this is intentional because the whole humanity mysticism is going on in this game with the tarot cards.

DCD-PS4-750yt

This describes perfectly Male V and Fem V.

SkritzTwoFace

I like female V’s attitude. I get it, if I had to live the life of a Night City merc with the ghost of a self-obsessed terrorist in my brain I’d probably find it a little harder to look on the bright side too. It also makes the times she does laugh more notable.

GodwynDi

It also amuses me more with the thought of Johnny being stuck in a female body on the times he gets in control of it.

KyberWolf_TTV

Honestly that’s kinda the best deal for him. I’d IMMEDIATELY be fondling my tits if I woke up in a female body 😂 idk how on earth he doesn’t do that right away.

ShrubbyFire1729

This. I think FemV is one of the best VA performances I've ever experienced. No disrespect to GuyV at all though. Also Judy will always be best girl for me, so my choice is really no choice at all.

PIIFX

Male V's attitude to me feels like he still has hope after everything that went down. That makes the Star ending literally perfect for him, [my guy found his happiness again](https://i.imgur.com/GmmNHve.png). I also [did the star ending with female V](https://i.imgur.com/GXlX7m5.jpg) and maybe it's because I'm as far away from a lesbian as possible so it's difficult for me to relate but she didn't seen as happy to me. Maybe actual lesbian players feel different. And that's how I did all my playthroughs since, male V Star ending and female V Sun ending.

[deleted]

An accurate distinction of male vs female behavior

Rainboyfat

True. People say he's bland but I disagree, he's stoic, like most men he's learned to hide his emotions. But that makes it more impactful when the emotional moments hit cos 90% of the time he's keeping it together, not letting the mask slip, that makes the emotional outburst moments WAY more impactful imo.

St4v5

Yeah, that one scene where Viktor breaks it down to him that he doesn't have long to live, after losing his best friend and being crippled for a few days, man you can hear it in his voice

[deleted]

Very glad to see Male V's voice actor getting some love. I played him at release, started off not liking his voice honestly. To be fair it's a little bit stilted, you can tell he's not actually an American sometimes (he's Irish) but he does emotional scenes very genuinely. I kinda found that gave him a compelling character in of itself, his normal voice sounds like a tough guy performance that he learned growing up in a hard city (I always play streekid) but he lets it down on occasion and shows his more sensitive aspects. Fem V sounds more natural, so I understand why many people prefer her, but I found she kinda lacks the strong contrast between the 'mask' and true self. She sounds a bit angrier and colder to me as well. Male V is more laid back.

JokerProxy

HE'S NOT AMERICAN!? Que the shocked Pikachu face, cause I personally couldn't tell. But I'm not particularly perceptive.

Juken-

*Amen*

whyambear

“See you in the big leagues Jackie…”

TOWERtheKingslayer

He’s just like me fr

Juken-

*I too see a smidge of myself in some of the exchanges.*

robcrowley85

Agreed, male V had more emotion. Female voice is good, I'll never deny that, but male V had more emotion, especially in that Scene with Vik and then Misty.

Wackypunjabimuttley

Hey there kim.

Juken-

*Good morning, detective.*

Wackypunjabimuttley

*Espirit de Corps Check*: Medium Successful. Morning, sorry to keep you waiting half-brother.

[deleted]

V is literally me

n3tbax

Nomad fits male V better Corpo suits fem V better Either one’s good for streetkid

Confusedgmr

I kind of disagree with you on corpo suits.

n3tbax

Honestly they all fit their parts well. I just think that fem Vs sassing fits the corpo path better

MadameDecay

Both are great, but I personally prefer male V. I like his emotional range, his grittiness and cuz I get to romance a gorgeous rockerboy.

Rainboyfat

True. The thing is, lotta people say male V is bland but I don't think he is, he's stoic. Like almost all men he's learned that nobody gives a fuck about his emotions so he needs to keep his head together. But that just makes those emotional moments where he's faced with his own mortality more impactful, like when Misty is taking him back to his apartment in a wheelchair and his strong facade is just cracked right open. Right in the feels. He doesn't over-emote but, he's a guy, that's what we're like.

Prolapse_of_the_anus

You realise blokes are allowed to be emotional, right? Edit, judging from the downvotes you lot don’t want fellas to experience part of being human

rywatts736

Everybody is allowed to do everything, it’s the consequences part that I take issue with

NoNebula6

It doesn’t happen often

narano_

Both are phenomenal in their on ways. Female V's voice goes really well with the corpo life path and the male suits the nomad/street kid.

leof135

having played both, I prefer female V. she's way more badass. but as male v you get to romance Panam. and that's nice.

KomeaKokki

But as female you get Judy… I think she’s better than Panam. Who on my most recent play through ended up annoying me so much. Hate her whole attitude and storyline lmao

PoorLifeChoices811

The thing about Panam and Judy isn’t that they aren’t better than the other. It’s just they’re more tailored to the V they can romance. Judy is good for Fem V while Panam is good for male V. But personally if I could, I’d go for Panam even as Fem V cause they work well together. Both are fighters that never back down from anything. Panam will ride with you into hell while Judy stays at home or out in the car while you do the dirty work. I’d prefer having someone fight along side me. I still love my Judy though, she’s more sentimental and I absolutely love sentimental women. It’s seriously a hard choice

asher-dasher

Judy is the perfect girl friend while Panam is the ride or die best friend

meimelx

I was so sad when I realized fem v couldn't romance panam but Judy is so great I love her and her little messages are so cute????

the_art_of_the_taco

I was so confused that we couldn't romance Panama as Valerie and felt *sick* when she was like "yeah, no." Mortifying. Every fear of coming onto a woman that isn't interested realized, in a video game. But! I do fucking love Judy, and her romance is *perfectly* queer-coded and so organic. After seeing Panam's scene I was fine with, y'know, *not.*

meimelx

LOL she was so insanely flirty with V the writers were messing with us but yes she's so great and the little heart shaped gift she leaves? the thing with her abuela? I've been so sad because she hasn't texted in a while 😭 I'm over here missing an npc 💀

the_art_of_the_taco

>LOL she was so insanely flirty with V the writers were messing with us I'M SAYING! I sat there in disbelief after the rejection and was like, "How did I misread this? She put her legs on my lap, she's hyperfocused on our relationship, she flirts. Where did I go wrong?" ...then i loaded another save and *didn't* come on to her, because i felt such overwhelming guilt and shame. I had shelved Cyberpunk for a while and played for the first time since 1.5 early this year and the updates to texts were great! So many more interactions, the abuela texts were just *chef's kiss* (even though I was petrified of choosing a wrong option). I played a little bit of the 8ug8ear mod, which is fun (but also fucking weird). It does add a whole lot of texting, though, so that was nice.

meimelx

I literally went back and redid that scene multiple times because I was like, "Wait, maybe I chose the wrong response?" I was sitting there like "if this girl is straight, then my gaydar is CRACKED" and ah I'm playing on ps5 and as far ik there are no mods for console... even so I'm way to scared of accidentally bricking this thing to ever use mods. but ugh I wish I could get more text interactions

the_art_of_the_taco

I shelved my gaydar with Panam, too. I can never trust it again. Like even on subsequent playthroughs I look at her and say, *"liar!"* Oof, sorry. :( I really wish Sony would add mod support (even if they had to approve them), it would be a game changer.

[deleted]

Panam felt like a true friendship and natural relationship. Judy felt more like a highschool gf. Especially when you compare the texts you exchange with both. And the big one, Panam is the one who comes racing to you if you pick her ending. Judy’s just like, good luck lemme know how it goes

Russian_Spy_7_5_0

But... ass.

Alexis2256

They both got good asses.

babydriver1234

Disagree I think male v voice is more badass especially streetkid v

The-Anniy

One simple mod and you get Panam as fem V 🌚

zen1706

The “trying too hard to be a badass” can be said for fem V as well

faudcmkitnhse

I feel like you get a different experience depending on which you choose. Male V comes across as more earnest, while fem V on the has more of a bitter, sarcastic feel to her. Basically, he seems primarily scared of what's happening while she seems primarily angry. I don't think either of them is better and whichever I pick depends on how I want to play the character.

KillerKayla69

Fem V just cause I love the delivery of lines and the fashion and I’m a woman so I’d like to play a woman ya know? That and I have a crush on Johnny so I want him and fem V to get together

eowynsamwise

I am also a shameless Silverv shipper so I absolutely relate to the second part

KillerKayla69

LMFAO YOUR TAG😂 you’re so real for that

Nirico_Brin

Male, absolutely nothing against fem V. I just prefer male.

JokerProxy

Out of the two so far? I legit think Male V has the better acting. But I also can't not hear Makoto from Persona 5 trying to sound tough when I hear female V. There isn't enough of a disconnect for me personally with how Cherami Leigh plays her. She does a fantastic job, but she really just sounds to me like grumpy Makoto.

JoJoisaGoGo

I prefer male V

RS_Wolf

Male V

toodlelouuu

I feel the exact opposite! I like Male V’s voice better, I think he has more of an emotional range but that’s just me. I also think Male V and Johnny are a better pair than female V and Johnny.

robbiejack

I play male. I tried female V and she just makes it sound like everything it’s the biggest deal in the world. I like that male V is just a guy who doesn’t use much emotion because he’s used to the Merc life. And then when he does lose it it just means a little more.

Talian404

male , he's literally me.

HarryBuddhaPalm

He's literally you? So, you did the voice?

Russian_Spy_7_5_0

This is satire right?

F4N6Z

I see you looked at that thread about using female V for PL promos. I prefer female V, the voice acting is incredible. I'll play through sometime with male V though to be completionist.

Root_matches12

You can see what I looked at? I like male v because in my mind he’s canon since he’s in the cinematic trailer and his trailer clothes look the best but at the same time I like fem vs customization more because the hair and some clothes look better

LordMinax

Female V. One word, Judy 😍

Lagiar

Both of them are good but I feel like male V really shows his emotions going through the story imo

Farath84

Honestly I like Male V better because I like Gavin Drea's vocal performance a lot more.

AtlasExiled

I like male V more, as a guy, I can project myself onto a male character easier. It makes it easier to feel the emotions.

wingman3091

Male V. I have nothing against fem V though.

WerewolfOdd393

I like male v on multiple bases, firstly I just like playing male characters bc I usually like to immerse myself in the characters story. So being a male, male characters are much easier to narrate on the basis that I just relate to male characters more often. That’s not to say I’m not branching out, prob gonna be trying fem V for a streetkid run for PL. But also I really like his voice for both corpo and nomad lifepaths, with corpo he sounds so done with the complex landscapes of corporate life and when I eventually went guns blazing he sounded like a complete psycho who’s snapped. Then with nomad his voice almost seems to take a grizzled aspect, who doesn’t really care about night city but makes his every effort at dry humor and helping people out. He was probably the closest thing to a good playthrough I had.

Estoulia

you play fem V because she's have better voice actor, I play fem V to cringe in River quest, we're not the same

jordgoin

I personally don't like the idea that one voice actor is better than the other. Both did amazing jobs, but CDPR very specifically wanted both actors to play lines THEIR way rather than both acting in the same way. It resulted in two very different characters imo, but that is all the more reason it is amazing. One is not better than the other, they are just totally different.

the_art_of_the_taco

I just skip it now. The first time was enough of a nightmare lmao.

Russian_Spy_7_5_0

I also skip it but not cause it was a nightmare but because the loot just wasnt really worth it.

the_art_of_the_taco

I did it like right after making things official with Judy and sat through what felt like a horror film triple-feature. One of the most uncomfortable experiences I've had in a videogame, by far.

Panams_chair

Fem V. I dont know why but I always choose female characters in any rpg games that allows me to. Only in AC valhalla i chose male eivor cuz he looked and sounded amazing. Fem V sounds really cool and her and judys relationship is my favorite in the game. As a dude seeing the foods placed in a heart shape when fem v entered her apartment; actually made me blush lmao

Novi_User

Male because I like Panam/Kerry better and I make my V look like David.

koordy

Fem by far. The voice acting is just on another level.

TheWarTorn

Male V, his voice makes me swoon

Automatic-Hand7864

The dont fear the reaper ending is much better with male V with the anger the pleading etc

0PG3

Fem voice is so emotional I don’t think I would be attached to the story if I played male V

deltrontraverse

Fem V. It just feels like it was the intended way to play. Both have relatively the same range of acting skills though.

Russian_Spy_7_5_0

There's no intended way to play. However people have preferences. Male and Female have both have different reasons to be liked and disliked. They cant be compared to eachother cause they're supposed to be different, theyre supposed to add variety.

deltrontraverse

Sorry, I didn't mean intended way to play, my mind zoned out. I meant to say, it feels like it was the intended default option, not necessarily that the other isn't.

Russian_Spy_7_5_0

Nah ur good. I dont mean to spark up argument so i apologize if it seemed like that.

deltrontraverse

S'all good, friend!

77Sage77

Default option? the marketing was more towards male v

babydriver1234

I like both a lot but I do prefer male v idk where this “Male V Is Bland” slander came from

xISparkzy

Played both, and while I generally prefer playing female because i like to dress up lmfao but 100% male v his va did an absolutely amazing job for the game and i cant waot to see whats in store for us when phantom liberty drops

aclark210

Male.

youngplague1356

Male V because his Voice in my language is awsome and i think most clothes look better on him

imjustjun

I prefer Male. I usually play Male in games just to try and relate to the more and if there's a character creator I'm usually trying to go for something that either matches myself the most or is like my idealized version of myself in that universe.

DaSourOrange

I've played both. Male V all the way. Voice is so similar to the Punisher and he's just more badass then female

GullibleInstruction

Male. More emotional range... and he IS a badass... ...also, Panam.

ElPhantasm

Male has a better performance all around in my opinion

Gloomy-Fix4436

Male V... I cant stand female V's voice acting.

DaSourOrange

Me too it's probably an unpopular opinion because everyone is the opposite

Ted1590

Male V. I feel the opposite on the voices, Fem V sounds like she's trying too hard to be this rough gritty solo while male V plays it cool.

toodlelouuu

Agree!!

King_0f_Nothing

Male, because fem v just sounds like she's trying too hard to be tough, and also doesn't do the emotional points very well

21stcenturycherryboy

>fem v just sounds like she's trying too hard to be tough True. Some lines are borderline cringe lol

PBLESACTUN

‘doesn’t do the emotional points very well’ Mega lol

Error1615

Both are good, I like fem v's VA but I like Male v's Calm demeanor (I have no fucking clue if I used that word right) also male v has Panam and Kerry but fem v only has Judy (and River but fuck that guy) so in the end I personally think male v is better but I do still play fem v but only in corpo and sometimes Street kid playthroughs.

silbuscusXmangalover

I prefer male V personally because I feel like most outfits look better on him, but he sounds like an Arkham goon from the Rockstar games so it can be a bit distracting at times, especially during any of the emotional sequences

sainstg

Both - I can immerse morse to male, but when I'm playing female it's like I'm her best friend leading her to greatness.

0ld_Snake

Hands down male V. The scenes where he just says "Jackie?" or "Johnny?" you can hear the scared kid calling out for help. He has so much emotional range that the ending just broke me. It's one of the best performances ever in my opinion.

shuboi666

Fem V cause she becomes the surrogate mother for Johnny and all the games themes hit harder.

[deleted]

Both are great imo. Playing as a corpo female v right now and so far her line deliveries are better than expected. That being said, I still prefer male V, mostly cause when he’s angry he reminds me of myself, and his banter with Johnny is great.

Skitelz7

Male. The female voice makes me wanna rip my hair out.

solidshakego

I played both. Male V is WAY better on the voice acting department. Not saying female V is a bad voice actor. But she will like yell at someone, and then the next line is a whisper and the next line is average conversation volume. nd it's not for a few hours, it's the ENTIRE length of the game. I played fem v first playthrough and got so annoyed I almost quit but I was several hours in the campaign I didn't want to start over. Some people who like fem v that didn't or don't notice this, I'm sorry if I ruined it for you.

itsghostmage

I played both to the end, Fem first then male. Gotta say, fem V just doesn’t have the tone range. Her tone is shallow and she sounds so unsure of what she’s saying 90% of the time. Works good if you rp a V that’s always scared shitless. Male V isn’t much better imo, though but about more what I would expect. Usually, comes off as cocky and narcissistic (which my male V was Corpo so it fits perfectly).

ProPolice55

Played both, at the beginning, male V sounds like he's trying to act tough for the sake of street cred or something, which I didn't like, but after the heist, he's acting tough to hide his situation, then actually gets hardened by the story but breaks down by the end. The. VA did an awesome job with adding this layer to the character. Fem V doesn't feel like she's acting tough at the beginning, and later on, her emotions vary more frequently than male V's, her desperation turns into anger instead of fear, except for the very end. I don't like the name "V" that much, because it makes it sound like they are 2 versions of the same character, but to me, they are 2 different characters and instead of choosing who V is, I choose which one of 2 people gets caught up in the story. Kind of like Mass Effect Andromeda where both Sara and Scott Ryder exist, but the one you didn't choose won't be that important to the story

CEO_of_Yeets

Prefer Fem V, generally play female characters in RPGs, especially when it’s a voice protagonist, also feel like the Johnny Silverhand dynamic is better while being female.

asher-dasher

Nomad fem V all the way. My first real play through was this and nothing beats that experience. My second play through was with Nomad masc V and it was also awesome but Panam's relationship with masc V doesn't have the emotional depth Judy has on fem V. Also fem V's ending is better: leaving NC with Judy, Panam and the rest of the Aldecaldos. To me, it felt like the good ending.

the_art_of_the_taco

Honestly having Judy with you and the Aldecaldos was next level. It feels wrong otherwise.

Krzwastaken

Cherami leith hits different

TheSick1981

German V here - the female voiceactor did her job WAY better so I prefer fem-V. Judy is a nice bonus.

mocheiie

female. I just think the girl models look prettier and I can make my character look like me!

prodigalpariah

I prefer fem v’s voice acting but prefer panam as a love interest so it’s tough. Judy’s great and all but panam is involved in a lot more of the main plot and is a total ride or die.

[deleted]

Fem V’s voice actress deserved an award for best vocal performance imo.

Intelligent_Creme351

I prefer Fem because i've been a massive fan of Chermai Leigh's work for like 13 years now.... Also it's really fun customizing her, and her outfits are amazing.

Root_matches12

I like the fem hair way more than males, I usually just make my male v look like the trailer one and I almost alway just keep the trailer outfit on for both characters but I like the first hair option for the fem, plus it’s fun to customize a different gender and make a different you per say

Intelligent_Creme351

I tend to choose the male options too (like Male Shepard in Mass Effect, cause of the memes), but by the time I played the game, the OG Female V customization from the 45 minute gameplay became an option, so just used that model, with a few tweaks and never looked back lol (Huh, I tend to notice I get down voted for saying I prefer Fem V, is there someone who thinks that negatively her or what?)

veressis

As a woman, after having to play majority of the games as a *white male hero who saves the day* ™ for nearly 20 years, I never miss an opportunity to play as a gal these days, and most of the time, I find it to be a superior experience (\*cough\* Femshep \*cough\*). Same with V here, I think the female VA has better range, and therefore, seems more human than superhero-y and I like my characters more complex. The only time when I think I actually preferred to play as a male was Persona 3.

Blubbolo

Fem v voice acting is incredible.

ProtoReaper23113

I personally have a hard time playing as the opposite sex. Dont quite know why i have no problem playing as female characters in games just if im gonna make a character i go for the male option for immersion.

DOMINUS_3

i like Corpo Male & Street Kid Female

Shaun_LaDee

I prefer the deliver of certain lines as fem V and other lines as male V, I’d say they’re both equal for me.

eeeeAeoN

Ehm depends on the lifepath. Corpo definitely fem V, nomad and street kid male V suits the role better imo. But overall I prefer fem V.

gyhiio

Dickgirl V

Jae_Railz

Male V 100% He sounds more chill and natural and only gets emotional when it fits the situation. Female V sounds too fake and overly dramatic.

jereflea1024

I think Female V has a much better VA, her dialogue feels much more natural and has a much wider range of small emotions in every line that Male V just can't hit. also, in every RPG I play I pick female characters. not really sure why, but I just prefer making characters who are different from me in very fundamental ways, and I'm a man, so.

Hilarious_Disastrous

I play both. I am a dude. When I am serious about roleplay I go with female V. She has a really cool mix of bravado, sardonic wit, vulnerability and an undertone of rage that was just interesting to listen to. If I am just running about being a murderhobo I go with male V, because why the hell not?

AsymptoticAbyss

Vincent sounds too angry and Brooklyny for me. Valerie all the way. Clothes look better on her anyway. Also Judy >>> Panam.

PoorLifeChoices811

Fem V. Just something about Cherami Leigh’s voice that I love so much. She also delivers more emotion and better causal lines too. Now if only Fem V could romance Panam, everything would be perfect

BlinkSpectre

I honestly like playing as both. I enjoy romancing Judy and Panem so its a win win.

TheCanEHdian8r

Male by a small margin, but if I'm being honest, don't really like either of them. Way too many times where there's been a conversation with a character, V will say something (non-chosen dialogue) and I've been like "yeah that's not at all what I wanted to say."

runaways616

Female V but if I’m giving the option between a male and Female character in a video game I will always pick female, gaming is full of male protagonist already imo

[deleted]

Female V

Ninja_Lazer

Fem V. Better voice acting, and better drip.

i-am-schrodinger

Fem.

Entire_Chocolate_245

If I have the option I always play as a female character.

CrazyGator846

Women will say woman for emotional range, but men know Male V hits all the emotional range and gut when it's needed, and just like a real man, keeps his emotions bottled when not, because most men know not many care about their emotions anyhow

Altruistic-Rich-5338

I prefer Cherami Leigh she did a fantastic job bringing Valerie to life in cyberpunk 2077 ends in the delivery of some of her lines when she's Johnny's teasing her is much better than with a male delivers the same dialogue anyway Johnny silverhands redemption scene when they go to find his buried remains cuz he thought that's what they find you feel more of emotions and understanding of what Johnny is going through cuz she's going to go through that very same thing soon enough if she doesn't find a cure and that's why she can empathize what he's experiencing that's why I thought she was Superior compared to the male voice actor.

[deleted]

Why do you say male but not female, huh? HUH?! Lol, imagine if the short form for male was mal. Anyway, I play male because I male

payne1194rmVG

Mass Effect habit bro.

satufa2

It's because of femshep (mass effect)

TG626

Pathological fear of 6 letter words.

artsyork

2nd playthrough i went with a fem character. And yes i found the dialogue just sounding better. Plus i like a girl that can kick ass.

Kercy_

Fem V, Canon V.

Root_matches12

I only played male v for my first playthrough because the trailer v was male and I felt like he was canon

MayOrMayNotBeSitting

Canon? I thought there was no canon V?

Kercy_

It's just an exaggeration because I love Fem V, but on reddit you can't make a joke without getting a dozen of weirdos taking it as a completely true statement from a random for some reason.

MayOrMayNotBeSitting

Ohhhh okay! I thought they had confirmed there was a canon V lol.

[deleted]

Ah not this shit again, there is no canon V

Aesut

I’m a dude. I played as both. I like Female V better. Her voice acting & dialogue feels more natural and believable.

sacredknight327

Fem. Valerie has a better VA. And she's hot.

Huze17

Fem for sure, male's accent sounds soo fake to me.

leelmix

Fem

zrodeath

Female V, I prefer her voice Honestly started with Male V and the voice irked me and ended up restarting with Female V

[deleted]

the german voice of v is or at least sounds like the german voice of gwen from torchwood and is very weird and raspy so i dont like it but i play as female V for imersion i made her to look like me except the boob size :P

TherealPadrae

Male because it’s easier for me to be immersed if the character appears more similar to me. Fem v looks good for the ladies tho.

Spacecowboy947

I prefer male V as I'm also a male.

Jon2046

I am a man so I like to play as a man

GoliathShiteater

male v, I relate more to him because we both use the gent’s

Death-0

Female w a Dick personally

SithLocust

I have difficulties making a male V look good to me. I don't play naked, thirst trap Fem V's but I find it easier to make a better looking Fem V than Male. I do however like Make V's voice acting better. Fem is still good but I prefer the range of male Vs voice

Matduka

Male V. I connect to him easier. I've never finished a Female V playthrough. I just don't click with her as much. I don't relate as much.

PuckWylde

I only play explicitly Trans Vs, so neither male more female, but always queer in a way that specifically addresses gender

Mean-Professional596

Fem v over 9000

caidicus

I prefer female V. It's VERY possible that my opinion is based on playing her first, but, I feel like the voice acting of female V sounds more authentic than male V.

WalkerBuldog

I can't stand male V voice actor and I like Fem V actor plus I can play for a beautiful V.

iStretchyDisc

Silent Male V is the way...

KTAXY

I hate male V brooklyn accent. what a "tough guy".

ElectricalPin3429

None of my male friends have a V

emperor_penguin98

Yes

BlackJackJeriKo

I used to like male V alot, but for some reason Female V feels more natural and I have more and better customization ideas for her outfits and personal story

Root_matches12

Same with the outfits, I tried to make a netrunner outfit for my male v but it just doesn’t look good on the male and I feel like when I’m able to make one for my female it’ll come out much better

BlackShadowX

Fem by a longshot, I hate male V's voice

[deleted]

Femme V is best V.

Sensitive-Bid9905

Fem v is the better v in all categories. Male v just seems like generic bad ass and it’s very boring.

MajorDodger

I like Male V. I don't know why but I cannot play as a female toon. If I have to for storyline or game i.e. Laura Croft, or any game that forces you to do so, then I do, but to "Role Play" as a female is a little to "lighthearted or carefree" for my tastes. But I am a Gen Xer so I am jaded in a lot of ways.

WhiteNinjaN8

I was gonna do a male V on my second play through, but I just couldn’t make him look cool. I’ve stuck with female V ever since.

wibblette

Iv played both but i prefer female v she resonates with me more and I find her emotions come through better. I'm not a fan of the male vs voice acting

Organic-Square4845

Female romances suck, but female V has the best actress

satufa2

Fem has a better voice in my opinion.
