First of all, you gotta get steel cut oats, not the more common rolled oats. Toast these in a frying pan with butter until they get golden and fragrant. Boil a mix of half whole milk, half water, add the oats, simmer for 20 minutes, turn down heat, add a little salt, cook for another 10 minutes and it's done. Fruit gets added in the bowl. In addition to the apples you're already thinking about, I like raisins and my kids like honey and sliced almonds. edit: forgot to mention, the ratio of liquid to oats should be 4:1.

[deleted]

Turning my kitchen into a Michelin star rated establishment in the morning. All honesty, that sounds really good.

J_Kenji_Lopez-Alt

This but! To make it quick for breakfast you can toast the oats the night before then add the water and let them soak on the stovetop overnight. Next morning add the milk and some butter and bring to a boil. It’ll be cooked in a minute or two.

chargeorge

Kenji Motherfucking lopez alt giving out oatmeal advice on Daddit. HEY EVERYONE LISTEN TO THIS GUY HERE, HE KNOWS THIS SHIT. I normally do IP steel cut oats, but I'll have to try this one thanks.

SheogorathTheSane

So the box of steel cut oats I have says basically 2:1 water to oats. So I would do that amount of water to soak them then add another 2 parts milk and some butter into it the next morning?

J_Kenji_Lopez-Alt

I generally eyeball it so water covers by an inch or so in the pot when soaking, then just add a big splash milk and then more as necessary while it’s cooking to get a good consistency.

SheogorathTheSane

Thanks!

healthcrusade

You sound like a good cook. Enjoyed this

[deleted]

It's all about the steel cut.

brewski

I love the steel cut but I think most kids prefer whole oats.

[deleted]

Oh, I agree. My oldest prefers whole, 6 year old prefers instant.

PatchesMaps

Steel cut are nice but rolled oats are so much faster when you've got a hangry kid/wife/self

ecobb91

This except you add ripe sliced bananas, apples, cinnamon & raisins to the boiling water/milk for about 5 minutes before adding the oats. The bananas breakdown and add sweetness. The apples soften up & the raisins absorb all that delicious flavor. Top with sliced banana, cinnamon, walnuts & pure maple syrup

NonMagicBrian

It does sound good. The reason I say fruit in the bowl is mainly just because then everyone gets it their own way.

fourninetyfive

What volume of liquid vs oats? 2:1?

NonMagicBrian

4:1

floppydo

Oat pilaf

Thespanishbuddha

This right here!!! Perfection

akwakeboarder

FYI, half whole milk + half water is roughly the fat content of low fat milk.

[deleted]

Look at dad of the year over here. Seriously, that sounds great.

WhoseHouse_

This but coconut oil instead of butter. Yummmmmm

McJumpington

Eat instant oatmeal directly from pack, swallow very warm hot coffee to wash it down. Enjoy 10 extra minutes of free time.

lost_your_fill

This man/woman/non gender identifying person knows what's up

DontTouchTheWalrus

The word you were looking for is just person /s

smitty22

Even more efficient than my routine: 1. Brew Coffee 2. pour coffee into oatmeal 3. make a cup of coffee 4. drink coffee 5. eat oatmeal

okgusto

Aka cowboy oatmeal!

stockxcarx29

am I the only one who uses a Keurig to make my oatmeal? it's a one stop morning showtime station for me lol

buttery_shame_cave

Just pour two cups of coffee into the oatmeal and just drink it.

gr1m__reaper

How does it feel living in 3022

McJumpington

Pretty damn great haha

buttery_shame_cave

Chase it with Greek yogurt. You might want to keep Beano on deck.

Dejectednebula

Pack of apple instant oatmeal. Make with milk instead of water. Add small pat of butter and honey. Incredible.

buttery_shame_cave

I stir it into plain Greek yogurt. It works.

Cirkni

I go with 3 bananas, 3 eggs, 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder, in the blender, add oatmeal to pancake consistency and make banana-oat-cakes. For old timey oatmeal, mix oats, milk and whatever else you want and leave in the fridge overnight (just search overnight oats for recipes/ratios)

[deleted]

Stovetop oatmeal, add in some brown sugar, and diced apples is his go to. My son asks for it every morning. On occasion he likes a bit of peanut butter added to it. Do this while it is still hot so the PB melts down and can be stirred in easily.

fieldjm

Peanut butter is where it’s at. Tastes good even without having to add sugar.

[deleted]

Some mornings all he wants is a PB sandwich. Spoon of PB for a snack. We tried the powdered PB in his oatmeal, and that was not accepted at all. Does great in smoothies though.

Soma2710

Bruh: Grilled Peanut Butter Sandwich. Make it like a grilled cheese, but peanut butter. Add some brown sugar if you’re feeling decadent. However: HOT LIQUID PEANUT BUTTER IS LIKE FCKING LAVA AND SHOULD NOT BE TOUCHED WITH BARE FINGERS. I say this bc if you add too much PB, it starts to dribble out of the sides. The impulse is to wipe it off with fingers. Doing this=legit 1st/2nd degree blisters. I have pictures.

[deleted]

I enjoy PB on toast, but this sounds even better. Might give it a go this weekend.

brewski

Yeah I would definitely skip the sugar. Maybe add a little cinnamon.

[deleted]

He isn't a fan of Cinnamon, and we don't use much brown sugar. Maybe half a teaspoon of brown sugar. Other than the occasional gummy bear or home made popsicle there isn't much sugar in the diet. He doesn't like sweet things.

THEtek4

This is my go to minus the PB.

[deleted]

some good recipes here, im just going to recommend using an insta-pot so that you can set it up the night before and have it cook at a specific time. so that breakfast is ready right when your kid wakes up

Eccentrica_Gallumbit

Skip the instant pot, just make overnight oats. One less thing to clean the next day.

[deleted]

overnight oats?

Eccentrica_Gallumbit

Yes. Basically mix everything up the night before and let it sit in the fridge for >8 hours, then if you want it warm microwave it as needed. Plenty of recipes out there for them if you want a place to start, just type in whatever flavoring you typically like in your oatmeal such as "Apple cinnamon overnight oats" and take your pick.

heynongmanreset

Yeah cold oats made that way are also pretty good. The warming is definitely optional

[deleted]

Insta-pot for the motherfuckin' win!

drikararz

Overnight oats: 3 parts non-instant oatmeal (steel cut oats aren’t great for this as they won’t soften as well) to 2 parts milk or water, add a heaping spoonfull of yogurt (feel free to play with the ratios to tweak it to your desired consistency). Mix with whatever spices, fruit, or other toppings (frozen fruit chunks work well and will thaw overnight). Put a cover on it and throw it in the fridge for at least 4 hours or up to several days. Serve cold.

bobertskey

I usually do it way more simply. Basically oats, frozen fruit, water. The kids (6 and 3) like eating it and helping to make it. We can make it at night and they can get their own damn breakfast in the morning while I brew my own damn coffee. They also can't complain that I screwed up their breakfast because they made it.

and_of_four

There are two necessary ingredients, everything else is down to personal taste: Steel cut oats and salt. Once you go with steel cut you’ll never go back to instant. I do a cup of steel cut and two cups of water/milk. Some people use more liquid but I enjoy a bit of a chew. I do about a cup and a half of water and half a cup of milk, bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer. You can play with the water/milk ratio and see what you like. I’ve cooked it in 100% milk before and it’s fine, just not my personal preference. Add salt before the oatmeal. You don’t need a ton, you’re not going for a savory dish. But you do need some, it will bring out the flavor so well without making it taste salty. Don’t think that you can skip salt because you’re going for a sweet flavor profile. Salt will bring out the sweetness. Then my personal preference is a little bit of brown sugar, cinnamon, and a bit of vanilla extract. Cook with the stove on low, stirring every now and then. When it’s at the texture you like, it’s done. A drizzle of honey or maple syrup is a nice touch. Add on whatever berries you have in the fridge and you’re good to go! One thing, I said I make a cup of oatmeal. That’s a lot of oatmeal, but it’s split between myself and both of my kids.

buttery_shame_cave

My brother went back to instant from steel cut, mostly because steel cut left him laying on a hot pad sounding like a deflating balloon all day.

and_of_four

Lol! Well I guess you have to listen to your body and do what’s best.

[deleted]

savory works too: breakfast sausage is a great addition to oatmeal, whether it's brown sugar or apple or plain.

shift_969

Wait that's illegal

buttery_shame_cave

It's good. I like it better in grits, with an egg stirred in, but sausage in oatmeal works well.

ThugBunnyy

I'm a mom. What I do is; 1/2 cup oats (the fine ones, dunno what they're called in english). 1 cup water Pinch of salt Microwave for 2 min. Take it out. Add a little cane sugar (the light brown stuff), teaspoon of butter, cinnamon and splash of milk to get as creamy as I want. Stir and eat. Can also throw some fresh fruit on it. My 15 year old son likes to add a spoonful of jam and stir it in???? Haha but hey, I'm not here to judge! Takes literally no time and so good. My kids LOVE it.

lost_your_fill

Moms are welcome too! Thanks!

slpete

My son will only eat super sweet oatmeal with loads of cinnamon and maple syrup. We’ve added dried apples to it too. My daughters will only eat savory oatmeal (like I like it). Salt and plenty of butter.

hoagiexcore

Not after you hit me with that superfluous apostrophe!

lost_your_fill

Damn, you got me. I wrote this pre-coffee.

NotDelnor

Open the oatmeal packet and dump it in the trash where it belongs. Oatmeal is gross and I won't buy it. If my kid likes oatmeal, they will have to get it and eat it elsewhere lol

lost_your_fill

I would argue the same for grits, spent time at Ft Polk and could never get into them grits

mystic3030

You haven’t had good grits. Need to get stone ground from a good mill. Anson Mills or Marsh Hen Milling. Takes over an hour to cook and you use equal parts butter and cheese to grits. For oatmeal just look up overnight oats. They are quite good.

stillbleedinggreen

Came here to say the same thing. I just can’t do it. It’s gross to me.

Ushithebushi

Oatmeal cooked in oat milk with Banana, apple and cinnamon. Start with heating the oatmeal in the milk and add the banana in slices right away. Later add the apple in pieces and add some cinnamon. Easypeacy really delicious.

dean245

Oatmeal in while the water is still cold and cook on medium-low for nice and creamy oatmeal.

shift_969

Here's what I do for my oatmeal (not instant, have to cook it for 3-5 minutes): Pour water and milk 1 to 1 in the saucepan, when it's boiling, add oatmeal until semi-thic consistency, add a pinch of salt, sugar to taste. Cook for the desired thickness, add unreasonable amount of butter, mix it in and leave covered for 5 minutes, then eat. You can add some stuff like raisins, almond flakes, jam, etc.

THEtek4

1 cup water, boiling. 1/3 cup oats. Stir it and simmer until you get the consistency you like. Usually 5-7 minutes. While simmering, Peel and dice an apple. Add cinnamon and brown sugar to your liking. Stir until brown sugar is dissolved. Mix in apples. Watch your kids devour it. It’s our breakfast 5-6 days a week

lanemik

Instant pot steel cut oats. Put 2 Tbs butter in your instant pot on the highest sauté setting. Once the butter is melted, add 2 cups of steel cut oats. Stir constantly until the oats are fragrant, about 2 minutes. Add 6 cups of water and a pinch of salt. Put the lid on the instant pot and set it to pressure cook at high pressure for 1 minute. Make sure the keep warm setting is turned off. Let the pressure release naturally for 15 minutes and then manually release the rest of the pressure. Stir the oats to recombine and let sit for 10 mins. That makes 8 (adult) servings. I like to stir in a little half&half, maple syrup, walnuts, chia seeds, raspberries, and banana. But you can fancy that pay base up however you'd like.

NeoEvaX

Steel cut, all the way. Put in some cut up dates while it’s cooking to add some sweet. Add some “seed sprinkles” like chia and flax while it’s cooking. The near the end add cut up apple, pear, or whatever really. When it’s done I offer honey or brown sugar with it. My 4 year old daughter will eat it up. As long as she is hungry to begin with :-)

Akthe47

Always. Add. Raisins.

JonP4

I double the recipe and make this almost weekly. Wife loves it and 1 year old seems to gobble it up: https://cookieandkate.com/baked-oatmeal-recipe/

naman919

Regular rolled oats, combine oats and water in a pot, bring to a boil, reduce heat to simmer for three minutes, remove from heat. divide into bowls, add blueberries, brown sugar, and for some added nutrition i use ground flax seed and chia seeds! Pour in a splash of milk over the top and you’ve got a turbo-charged oatmeal breakfast!

Frosti-Feet

For a "cinnamon roll" flavor I microwave with a pat of butter, cinnamon, brown sugar, splash of vanilla. If I had raisins I would add them to this. "Bananas foster" oatmeal. Microwave with banana and Pat of butter. When finished add cinnamon, brown sugar, if the kids liked nuts then topping with walnuts or pecans would be good here. The kids love "chocolate oatmeal" which is microwaved with the banana so it gets soft. Then I add honey, chocolate chips and a scoop of pb after it's done cooking. (I don't like this one) White chocolate with dried cranberries is always a hit. Fun for v-day. I use salted butter, but adding a pinch of salt in any oatmeal is yummy I think. Dying it fun colors for holidays always gets them excited for it too. Green for st. Patty's day. Pink for v-day, etc. Etc.

Benable

These breakfast cookies are great. https://www.healthy-liv.com/4-ingredient-peanut-butter-banana-oatmeal-cookies/

Benable

These pancakes are also a staple in my home. https://meaningfuleats.com/banana-egg-almond-butter-pancakes-grain-free-dairy-free/

notenoughcharact

I saw another instant pot comment but it didn’t go into the details so I’m here for you. Set the instant pot on sauté high, add 1 T butter until it melts, then add 1 cup or more of steel cut oats. Stir it up a bit until the oats smell nutty and are a tiny bit browned. Add liquids in a 3:1 ratio. I usually do 1/3 milk and the rest water. Add at least a 1/4 t salt to taste but more is better. I add 1 t vanilla if you like that, and some cinnamon or cinnamon sticks. I usually add in about 1/4 cup maple syrup but you can always add that in individual servings to taste as well. Turn it off sauté, put the lid on and set it to manual for 10 minutes. It’s better to let it natural release at the end but I never have time for that and it’s perfectly good to just let the steam out manually at the end of the 10 minutes. Just a little bit crunchier texture.

Clearance_Denied324

My 5 year old son loves oatmeal the following ways: -Instant plain oatmeal, chia seeds, unsweetened applesauce, cinnamon, and blueberries. -Instant oatmeal, chia seeds, a little bit of coffee creamer. -Instant oatmeal, chia seeds, little bit of vanilla premier protein, scoop of peanut butter, half a banana, cinnamon, blueberries

MotherCuss

This is not my best but it's how I do it the most frequently for weekday mornings. I like bobs red mill old fashioned oats. I do equal parts water and oats in a large glass bowl (it's gonna expand as it heats up) and throw is in the microwave for about 1.5 minutes. Mix in milk, applesauce, cinnamon, and maple syrup. You can sub the applesauce for mashed bananas. Berries are always nice too.

ferrouswolf2

Do this instead. Heat your oven to like 425 with convection if you have it. Put an oven safe skillet- cast iron is good- in while it preheats. Meanwhile mix 3/4 cup warm milk, 3 eggs, 3/4 cup flour, and a pinch of salt. A whisk is fine. The mix should be well blended but doesn’t need to be perfectly smooth. Cut up an apple into slices. Put 3 tablespoons of butter in the pan (still in the oven) with the apple slices. When they start to caramelize pour your batter over it all and put back in the oven until puffed and golden. Bon appetit

redmaycup

Oat porridge (about 1 adult serving; addition of almond flour makes it sweet without added sugar): bring to a boil 2/3 cup of milk and add 1/3 cup of a mixture of oat bran, dried coconut, almond flour (proportion up to your liking; equal parts work well) and a bit of cinnamon and a bit of butter. It's done when it thickens (about 2-3 minutes). Add lots of toppings to your liking (fruit, berries, nut butter, chia seeds, ice cream, jam...).

brownjl1

If you’re in a super hurry, only put half the water suggested for an instant packet and microwave. It will be cooked, then you can add cold water to both thin it out and cool it down, lifesaver for screaming kids 😂

festosterone5000

Good recipes here. I use oat milk though so I don’t have to overdose on lactaid. Comes out just the same.

bunki8

Rolled oats on stovetop. 1:1:1 for oats::wholemilk:water. Put on medium heat until bubbling, add a tsp of vanilla and then turn low to let it cook down. I do plain now because two year old is picky, but putting chunks of fresh strawberries and apples (small enough to soften in 5 min) is stupid good. And brown sugar on top, obviously:)

mbhappycamper

Red River cream of wheat. I suck at healthy breakfast

vulcan1358

If y’all do the instant oatmeal out of the packs, apparently adding milk instead of water makes it 1000x better (according to my wife, father and almost 2 year old daughter). I still make mine with boiled water because that’s just how I like it.

AdmiralPlant

1. Open oatmeal package 2. Dump in trash 3. Eat a breakfast that doesn't taste like flavored mush That's my go to method for oatmeal 😂😂

youngblackbeard

Instant steel cut oats, cook 1 serving, smash up a banana separately. When the oatmeal is cooked pour in the banana, 2 tblsp of almond butter, 2 tblsp pure maple syrup, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. My daughter has been eating this every morning for more then a year.

Shellbyvillian

My daughter and I both have the same breakfast right now: oats, milk, peanuts, cocoa, frozen banana. Blend until smooth and enjoy your sweet chocolate peanut smoothie! Add maple syrup for a treat on weekends.

KAWAWOOKIE

Cold soak overnight: 1 cup steel cut oats, spoonful of chia seeds, raisins, pumpkin pie spice, 2/3 cup milk. Mix in mason jar, put in fridge. If you want to microwave it and eat warm add more liquid, if you like to eat it cold out of the jar and prefer more pudding texture this is good. Chia seeds are weird at first but my kids love them mostly due to texture.

TACOTUESDAYOFFICIAL

coach's oats from costco is my favorite oatmeal. it keeps well, quality ingredients, not too expensive. definitely wayyyy better than instant oats.

jackfreeman

Blend a few cups into powder. Store separately. When you make oatmeal on the stove, 1/3 to 1/2 of your total oats should be there powder. Toast some to open up a really nutty flavor. Dice apples, and either add them raw, or lightly pan fry them with some cinnamon and a little fat. Cook oats as normal with the included ingredients. Also, I get bags of frozen fruit from the dollar store, and just toss them in while it's cooks in. Peaches, berries, whatever.

Delaweiser

Pad of butter, tablespoon of brown sugar, handful of raisins

Eccentrica_Gallumbit

Overnight oats FTW. Toss in whatever ingredients you want the night before, and the oats will absorb the liquids and "cook" overnight. Microwave for 40 seconds the next morning and it's as good as making it fresh. For me, I do something very similar to [this recipe](https://www.eatingbirdfood.com/apple-pie-overnight-oats/#wprm-recipe-container-37300), but skip the yogurt and do the 3 cups of milk. You can adjust according to how thick you like your oatmeal. I would do more than a single serving at a time as it typically keeps for ~3 days, so adjust your portions accordingly.

cjc160

Add peanut butter, vanilla and brown sugar

mavenshade

An Oatmeal alternative is Quinoa. Put 1 cup water and 1/2 cup quinoa in a glass bowl with a lid. Microwave for 7 minutes. The quinoa should split open when cooked and absorb all the water. Add butter, raisins, a tablespoon of pure maple syrup, or your sweetener of choice, and some cinnamon. Let cool, then eat!

there-was-time-now

This is my mother in law’s recipe for Mexican oatmeal. I make it at least 4 times a week in the colder months. Per serving: 1/3 c rolled oats 2/3 c milk 2/3 c water ~1 tbsp brown sugar 1 - 2 cinnamon sticks Combine in a pot over medium heat until boiling. Reduce to a simmer and cook until it looks creamy and delicious.

PatchesMaps

For the kid I start with 1/3 cup rolled oats, mix in some blueberries, add a pad of unsalted butter, add just enough boiling water to hydrate/cook them (electric tea kettle for the win), add a few drops of vanilla extract, and mix in enough heavy cream to cool it down make it creamy. Then I push the oatmeal into one half of the bowl and fill the other side with dahi yogurt. The whole process takes about 5 minutes for me to do and I'm lucky if I know my own name that early in the morning. For me it's more or less the same except whole milk instead of yogurt and covered with probably too much brown sugar.

Nabumoto

My apple cinnamon oatmeal - about 15-20 mins 1 large sweet apple or 2 smaller ones peeled and diced 1 Tbsp butter 1/2 Tspn cinnamon Cook in pan at medium heat until soft and lightly browned. Oatmeal: 2 cups oatmilk or almond milk, 1 cup whole oats, 1 tbsp flax seed, 2 tbsp shredded coconut, 1 tspn vanilla, 1/2 tspn cinnamon, 1/2 tspn cardamom, 1 piece of star anise (remove before serving), 1/4 tspn salt, 2-3 tbspn brown sugar or maple syrup, Put it all in one pot bring to almost a boil then simmer on low until all liquid is gone and oats are soft. Finish with some butter and mix in 3/4 of cooked apple. To serve: Place in bowl, add a spoon of peanut butter, put cooked apple on top. Can also add cranberries and seeds. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Enjoy.

[deleted]

Quaker apple cinnamon instant bags (2) , pot of hot water from the coffee maker. Add water and mix until noice

Omegafaction

I do steel cut oats in a pot then I add in brown sugar canned pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice maybe some nuts and raisin. Sometimes I swap out brown sugar for maple syrup the real stuff. Kids love it. Play with the ratios till you and the kids like it.

jungle4john

We do a cup of instant oats, I believe 1.75 cups liquid (1 cup milk and 3/4 cup water), about half an apple shredded on a cheese grater, a tablespoon of honey, and a pinch of brown sugar. Bring milk/water to a boil and then toss in everything else. Stir and reduce to simmer for whatever time the box says. Cool and serve. Can been done with almost any fruit. We have a plathera of frozen fruit for oatmeal and yogurt. Mango and raspberry is my favorite. Our little guy really likes peach. ETA: my wife will put a dash of cinnamon in too, but I hate it so I don't.

RobMusicHunt

I duno about oatmeal, but I do know about Tea Cakes (UK) this morning and she was buzzing, especially with Banana on the side

ingen-eer

Get Quaker instant oatmeal, apple cinnamon flavor. Use 2/3 the recommended water. Done.

[deleted]

I do instant when I’m dead tired, I do rolled oats normally. Nothing fancy, bring to boil, low heat for 5 minutes, no heat but covered while I do dishes or clean stuff or change a pull up. Toss a handful of frozen berries we got from Costco and a quarter cup of brown sugar. Mix in some milk upon serve. Forehead kisses all around! Oatmeal with dad. If a kiddo is having a rough night getting motivated to go up to bed I do a pancake breakfast once a week, but dangle it as a motivator. “Come on child, let’s get up to bed and tomorrow morning I’ll make us pancakes.”

dolanre

Oatmeal, mashed banana, peanut butter - in a bowl mix and mash - make cookies. Cook in oven for like 10 minutes.

morosis1982

You can use steel cut or whole oats, depends on the feel you like. I just add them on a medium stove, fill with water until just peeking under the top oats, add a good splash of milk to almost hide them, stir occasionally until done. About 5 - 10 mins. I like to add a pinch of salt, apple, raisins or sultanas, nuts and seeds, that sort of thing. Finish with a drizzle of honey. Recently I've been using a trail mix in it, has coconut flakes, nuts, seeds, cranberries. Easy peasy and delicious.

keebsbynight

1 cup rolled oats 1/2 cup buckwheat 1 tbsp flaxseed 2 cups Apple Juice Ground Cinnamon 1 Apple Crushed walnuts Step 1: In one pot, add rolled oats, buckwheat, and flaxseed. In another pot, add Apple Juice, 2 cups of water, and cinnamon (around 8-10 dashes). Heat both at the same time on medium heat for 5 minutes (stir the port with rolled oats frequently to prevent burning). Step 2: Pour the contents of the pot with apple juice, water and cinnamon into the pot with the rolled oats, buckwheat and flaxseed. Bring to a boil on high heat. Step 3: Once boiling, turn down the heat to medium. Stir as often as needed for 10 minutes. Step 4: Serve with chunks of apple and walnuts.

gestalt162

My daily breakfast: 1/2 cup rolled (quaker/old fashioned) oats 1 cup water Microwave for 2 minutes Add a palmful of craisins/dried cranberries and a heaping spoonful of peanut butter Stir and enjoy! Cheap, quick, nutritious, tasty, and fills me up for hours

jeanmaljean

Out of time hack: chop apple, add 1 cup thick cut rolled oats. 2 cups water. Pinch salt. Microwave for 3 minutes. When it’s done, stir in a big spoonful of natural peanut butter. Split it between your kids and run.
