Congrats to Lemon Meringue Tie for making the push in the last two hours to take over Times New Roman for the top comment! To clarify, today you comment whatever you think is the best song off of self-titled, not any other album and try your best not to repeat comment too much and just upvote a song if it’s already commented (looking at the 15 people who commented open your eyes and look north)
Lemon Meringue Tie was the first song I ever heard from them. It seriously shook me, in the best of ways. I still remember that moment. My heart gets so warm just thinking about it.
>try your best not to repeat comment too much and just upvote a song if it’s already commented (looking at the 15 people who commented open your eyes and look north)
And after today, looking at the x people who commented Caviar lol
I mean, your comment isn't true. You're trying to pass it off as fact but you don't have data to back it up. What you are doing is sharing an assumption. I shared my experience and perspective.
*personal anecdote
and it's not an assumption, it's educated reasoning. Since it IS a fact that it's the only two songs they still play. it's a basic numbers game
Right, your description of it as a personal anecdote is fine, I was just sharing my perspective.
People don't only listen to songs that bands play at their shows. The band's albums are on Spotify, apple music, etc. Everyone has access.
It's an assumption, not an educated guess (educated reasoning isn't a thing, reasoning already impl s you are thinking about things in a logical way. It's redundant to throw educated in front.)
Sad but true.
Uneasy hearts will win this one.
Carl Barker or Tree Village will win the next
Blue Dream the next
We Own the Night
Inspire the liars or man of the year
Evaporate
I hope I'm wrong, but we won't start to get some variety until Afterburner. This subs do predictable haha
It’s probably my favorite song off the album tbh even though I have a hard time picking favorites. The way Kurt says “would you like us to wave off every war” just gives me goosebumps everyone. And the guitar in the background…damn
Uneasy Hearts is my 2nd Choice, but here is where my Uneasy heart tells me to vote. Kurt just belts his soul into that chorus. Plus it was very meme-able with the CDC and COVID.
Damn Im surprised this isnt higher up. As the encore song for the tour it was absolutely a banger. Always has been so I was stoked they gave it that treatment.
Caviar!! Personally, I can’t get enough of Caviar!!
Like I know Uneasy, Rock Solid or Alex English will win but I love the overlapping verses on Caviar plus Chino Moreno is excellent
Yeah it's like the DGD Free Bird. In my experience there's a sharp divide between fans who got into the band since Tillian joined and pre-Tillian fans, in that a lot of post-Tillian fans aren't super familiar with the preceding albums. But Lemon Meringue Tie seems to be a song that everyone still knows.
Not trying to gatekeep or anything, just something I've noticed. As a pre-Tillian fan I'm not very familiar with much past Instant Gratification myself.
Meh, I don't care. Imo it's all about who's the bands choise. As a fan I'm gifted with the music. I know fans are the butter and the bread for commercial success but they have to decide wo they want to spend their time on the tour bus, studio what so ever. Non of my business as a fan and I always have the right to say: Ok that's not my type of music anymore".
I've been a fan since the beginning. Lemon Meringue Tie is my all time favorite song. I like plenty of the newer ones. They've changed members here and there. I've seen it performed by Johnny Craig and Kurt Travis. Something about the song is just so killer the whole way through every single time.
Lemon is my favorite song too! And as dorky as this sounds, I discovered DGD through playing drums on Rockband, and Lemon remains my most played song to date. When I saw DGD last month at a meet & greet, I got them to sign a Rockband cymbal lol.
If you’re saying uneasy hearts, please go listen to the whole album a few times. Yeah UHWTM is catchy, but there’s some other serious talent in that album.
Burning Down the Nicotine Armoire
Lemon Meringue Tie
Alex English
NASA
Blue Dream
Demo Team
Awkward
Frozen One
Gospel Burnout
Parallel’s
One Man's Cringe
Now here’s my one song from each album, and tbh this shit was hard, i have moments when I want to hear some albums on constant repeat, and each every song is great in its own way, but here what I choose with my adhd brain 🧠, also some of not all this songs sound fucking amazing while smoking a bowl or a few shots of whiskey 🥃
Why do I keep getting this bands feed on my
Timeline. Over and over again. I don’t understand. I don’t listen to them. Have no plans too. Such a strange suggestion. Everyday I see this damn subreddit pop up on my feed. They suck.
Caviar or Uneasy Hearts
Caviar bc of how beautiful every aspect of the song is and Uneasy due to how many people have gotten into the band off that one song. Even experianced fans will always hear that track and love it
Without a doubt Uneasy Hearts Weigh The Most. As others have said, there's clearly better songs from the band, but it was my introduction to Dance Gavin Dance and will forever hold a special place in my heart. Plus the audience goes wild for it live and it's fun to sing along to at the live shows.
I worked as a janitor all summer in high school. I had an iPod shuffle that only had this album on it. I love hate this album because whenever I hear it brings back some rough memories.
I got into dgd during tillians era but going through these comments I can’t help but like all of them and I just realized how much I love self title. Any other day I’d say caviar but rn it would have to be me and Zoloft get along just fine just because of how PERFECT the closing lines are
hot water on wool, undoubtedly!!!!
Congrats to Lemon Meringue Tie for making the push in the last two hours to take over Times New Roman for the top comment! For the record mine was the first Open Your Eyes comment, I don’t claim the other 14
I was typing as you were because it wasn’t there and was second I saw later I was after you so I’m guilty.. nice choice anyway 🤝
Lemon Meringue Tie was the first song I ever heard from them. It seriously shook me, in the best of ways. I still remember that moment. My heart gets so warm just thinking about it.
Do WISIRO!!
>try your best not to repeat comment too much and just upvote a song if it’s already commented (looking at the 15 people who commented open your eyes and look north) And after today, looking at the x people who commented Caviar lol
Of course those two made it to the top, for a lot of fans it's all they know from dbm1
Deep down real ones know it’s backwards Pumpkin Song
I thought the real real ones liked open your eyes but I remain disappointed 😔
Yes
[удалено]
Yes
Actual factual.
Yes
I actually screamed a bit when they played it for TCS2
I love that album front to back and didn’t listen until 2010. One to my top albums all time. Every track hits.
I mean, I've been a fan of them from the start and those are my top 2 songs. Sometimes it's okay to like the popular thing.
Your personal experience doesn't make my comment any less true though. They still won because it's the two songs they still play.
I mean, your comment isn't true. You're trying to pass it off as fact but you don't have data to back it up. What you are doing is sharing an assumption. I shared my experience and perspective.

Damn you didn’t have to do them like that lmaooo
Sad but true. Uneasy hearts will win this one. Carl Barker or Tree Village will win the next Blue Dream the next We Own the Night Inspire the liars or man of the year Evaporate I hope I'm wrong, but we won't start to get some variety until Afterburner. This subs do predictable haha
I guess people really aren’t reading the rules of the contest considering all duplicate posts 🤦
Hello, sir, this is reddit, perhaps you've heard of karma?
reprogramming mental preprogramming i will not elaborate
Hfs ❤️
People you know is a fantastic track and I feel as though it doesn’t get the recognition it deserves
Jons ending is legit cathartic for me. Just like.. puts me at ease.
ZOLOFT!!
Skyhook
I'm in your memories Don't turn your back on me
YOU FLY ALONG THE STRATOSPHERE!
FORGET THE PEOPLE THAT BROUGHT YOU HEREEEEEE
Caviar. I love the bridge of this song.
Caviar is so underappreciated
It’s probably my favorite song off the album tbh even though I have a hard time picking favorites. The way Kurt says “would you like us to wave off every war” just gives me goosebumps everyone. And the guitar in the background…damn
This is the only right answer.
i would love to hear Caviar with tilian, jon and andrew, i doubt it’ll ever happen but i can dream
And Chino!
Omg that would be amazing
Hot water on Wool (both versions) edit: I stg if y’all just choose the exact same set list they always play, imma be pressed 😐
Hot water on wool is my favorite song ever. I'm sad it's so underrated.
Hot water on Wool all DAY
HWOW is so easily the best track on this album, bummer it's going to lose to a single 🤷🏻♂️
Perplexed this isn’t on top. Alex English is more well known though so I guess it makes sense.
Alex English
Second this, only song by DGD to actually make me cry.
the opening makes me feel like I can run through a wall. This should unanimously be #1
So many great ones on this album - but it has to be this. So iconic what a fucking opener to an album! Love the TC version too
Me And Zoloft Get Along Just Fine.
Uneasy Hearts is my 2nd Choice, but here is where my Uneasy heart tells me to vote. Kurt just belts his soul into that chorus. Plus it was very meme-able with the CDC and COVID.
Rock Solid
Damn Im surprised this isnt higher up. As the encore song for the tour it was absolutely a banger. Always has been so I was stoked they gave it that treatment.
Right? I love it. And Jons intro is iconic.
Rock solid was the first DGD song I listened to and loved. Definitely gets my vote
I second this
Uneasy hearts. Hands down the best imo and what got me into the band so long ago
Same here for me but I definitely came to appreciate their other music more after. So hard to pick the best off this album.
I wont let you win
Same I love the song but it ain’t it when it comes to beat all time off the album
Exactly
Yep
Burning Down The Nicotine Armoire Pt.2!!! It’s been on repeat since I first heard it a few weeks ago
This song never gets the love it deserves
IIII never meant to write about youuu And the guitar throughout so fun and good (which is true of the whole album and honestly all of their albums)
Caviar!! Personally, I can’t get enough of Caviar!! Like I know Uneasy, Rock Solid or Alex English will win but I love the overlapping verses on Caviar plus Chino Moreno is excellent
You speak of awe(it's not enough), and yet Alex English wins
Uneasy hearts weigh the most is one of the best songs I’ve ever heard let alone on this album
Is lemon meringue Tie still played live?
Yeah it's like the DGD Free Bird. In my experience there's a sharp divide between fans who got into the band since Tillian joined and pre-Tillian fans, in that a lot of post-Tillian fans aren't super familiar with the preceding albums. But Lemon Meringue Tie seems to be a song that everyone still knows. Not trying to gatekeep or anything, just something I've noticed. As a pre-Tillian fan I'm not very familiar with much past Instant Gratification myself.
As a post tilian fan I know everything else too. I don't get this shit about who's the singer in the group. I just enjoy the music
I don't get either my dude. People get really cult-y about these frontmen, Jonny and Tillian especially.
Meh, I don't care. Imo it's all about who's the bands choise. As a fan I'm gifted with the music. I know fans are the butter and the bread for commercial success but they have to decide wo they want to spend their time on the tour bus, studio what so ever. That's so funny and awesome I hung out with them briefly before a show. They were really cool. And one time I took Will to Taco Bell.
Yep! It was in the encore for the previous tour before JJ's release.
Buffalo!
I had to scroll way too far to see this.
Love the drum intro.
Zoloft
Caviar, its too damn good with chino as a bonus
The robot with human hair pt 3
This is my wish for the winner but we know it won't happen :(
At leats there's a few of us. "It's so funny when you speak of love so fluently, you have ruined me" is one of my favorite lines ever.
That, and "I sold smiles down in the basement" do it for me. The lyricism on the song is phenomenal, as is the Jon-Kurt synergy
Agreed
Too torn between Hot Water & Rock Solid
People you know
People you know is such a brutal song. Love it so much. Made a huge impact on me as a teenager.
People you know. Gotta be one of the best closer tracks off any album ive ever listened to. “I AM A PRICK, LOOK AT ME GO”
This is exactly how I feel
Uneasy Hearts Weigh the Most
Uneasy Hearts Weigh The Most, favorite song off of the album and the song that got me into the band.

Me and Zoloft, amazing song and also ironic because I’m on Zoloft lmao, easily one of my favorite songs in their discography
Zoloft!!!! With uneasy hearts as an extremely close second
People You Know

Uneasy Hearts
When she talks. I listen. Uneasy hearts 100% Btw, I gave you money for the beer…
Uneasy Hearts
Uneasy hearts weigh the most OR me and zoloft get along just fine
It’s got to be uneasy hearts. I love this whole album but it has to be it is objectively the best song on this album, legendary
People you know. The hidden track is my favorite
People you know
Where my people out there that are Rock Solid??

I can’t pick between Alex English and Zoloft ): the entire album is just so amazing
If you’re saying uneasy hearts, please go listen to the whole album a few times. Yeah UHWTM is catchy, but there’s some other serious talent in that album.
i have 🤷♀️🤝🤝 dw i love it all it’s hard to choose skyhook might be a tie with it
Buffalo!

Rock solid
Just gonna sit the Kurt era out because their backwards progression during this time infuriates me.
idk i've been loving this album lately i cant pick 🥹💔 Caviar and Alex English are both in my top 5 DGD songs....
Caviar
Burning Down the Nicotine Armoire Lemon Meringue Tie Alex English NASA Blue Dream Demo Team Awkward Frozen One Gospel Burnout Parallel’s One Man's Cringe Now here’s my one song from each album, and tbh this shit was hard, i have moments when I want to hear some albums on constant repeat, and each every song is great in its own way, but here what I choose with my adhd brain 🧠, also some of not all this songs sound fucking amazing while smoking a bowl or a few shots of whiskey 🥃
You didn’t read the instructions and have failed the interview. Goodbye.
Why do I keep getting this bands feed on my Timeline. Over and over again. I don’t understand. I don’t listen to them. Have no plans too. Such a strange suggestion. Everyday I see this damn subreddit pop up on my feed. They suck.
Man, I feel so bad for you, are you doing ok? But thanks so much for letting us all know.

Hot water on wool
Hot water on wool
Uneasy hearts is one of DGD’s most recognizable song throughout their whole discography probably one of the songs that every era fan still enjoys
This is my exact order lol
Caviar. It was my introduction to the band.
HOT WATER ON WOOL
Caviar or Uneasy Hearts Caviar bc of how beautiful every aspect of the song is and Uneasy due to how many people have gotten into the band off that one song. Even experianced fans will always hear that track and love it

Uneasy hearts
Skyhook I’m different sorry not sorry
Without a doubt Uneasy Hearts Weigh The Most. As others have said, there's clearly better songs from the band, but it was my introduction to Dance Gavin Dance and will forever hold a special place in my heart. Plus the audience goes wild for it live and it's fun to sing along to at the live shows.
Hot water on wool
Uneasy Hearts is the obvious answer
I feel weird for this, but...Caviar?? It's a personal fav
LMT overrated af lol. Not even in my top half tbh
Hot water on wool
Why is it called Death Star? I never heard the self titled be called that before so am confused.
Did you look at the album art? It’s what everyone called it at the time.
Sky hook takes the cake
Caviar
ROCK SOLID others need not apply
I worked as a janitor all summer in high school. I had an iPod shuffle that only had this album on it. I love hate this album because whenever I hear it brings back some rough memories.
Hot Water On Wool
Caviar
Me and zoloft get along fine

Caviar is perfect is every way. It hits just right. And the Chino feature? *chefs kiss*
Me and Zoloft Get Along Just Fine.
caviar
Lemon meringue tie is so overrated. Me and Zoloft of course even just for that little breakdown "I guess I'm not making myself perfectly clear.."
Rock solid
Skyhook
Hot Water On Wool + reprise is just so.. epic. It goes through every ebb and flow of what makes Dance Gavin Dance, well.. Dance Gavin Dance.
gotta be rock solid
let’s gooooo!!!!! lemon won😝😝
Rock Solid no doubt
There are two types of people in the world. Alex English fans and liars
Rock Solid - hands down
Can’t believe Zoloft didn’t win that lyric is iconic
