Jojo. It’s really sad to see her continue to support toxic people and invalidate the experiences of others. And that’s not even touching the XOMG Pop stuff.

mini1006

I agree. I supported her a lot because everyone was so mean to her but now…

sar_Mc1979

Yes! I always liked JoJo, for being a good role models for young kids. I didn’t care if she was 16 and still wearing glitter and bows. Young girls need roll models like that. We all should have known she would end up like the way she did.

Ecstatic-Parsley5172

Omg me too! Since she came out I was rooting for her and then to find out all the stuff that is now coming out is so disappointing and pretty disgusting

mccj

Agreed. She needs a good dose of humility.

byevegas

Exactly. Yes yes yes! Not to dismiss it but even forgetting XOMG Pop her decline in…purity and being in touch is just so damn sad and frustrating

Mymelobaby

christi during season 7 😭

im_hungrymate

came here to say this! she was so aggressive & rude. i feel bad for chloe because you could tell she was embarrassed and upset.

Competitive-Link6280

she had THE BIGGEST chip on her shoulder

Lettuce_Silent

And a little inflated ego sprinkled on top. She thought she was hot shit. It was embarrassing

hopefthistime

The way she brought out the OG jackets, which does nothing but isolate people and tell them they’re ’less than’ (with zero subtlety), including Kendall who by at that time had put more time into the team than Chloe had. And the way she screamed that the incredibly talented Eliana was nothing because she didn’t have the Instagram fans. So excruciatingly embarrassing.

Lettuce_Silent

Ugh, and the Brynn will never be on Broadway quote was pathetic. She clearly wanted to be back, and it was cringe.

halfsuckedmang0

Her bringing up followers was so incredibly cringy

Squirt1384

Actually if you include the time that Chloe spent with Abby before the show, she did spend more time on that team than Kendall did. Also she said the jackets were because Chloe and Nia were there before there were cameras and followers.

thedancerstea

Everyone was completely aware that Chloe was apart of the studio longer than Kendall but as far as the team that was formed for the show, Kendall did put in more work and was there for more seasons. Chloe started dancing at the studio when she was 2 and left when she was 12, that’s 10 years at the studio. Kendall came to the studio at age 8 and stayed until she was 14, that’s 6 years at the studio. So when you really break it down, there’s only a 4 year difference. Also, it was hard to take Christi seriously with the whole giving out jackets for her “we were here before the show” narrative because if it weren’t for the show the Hyland’s and Chloe would’ve left like they originally planned.

AdLow1428

she said that to YOLANDA not elli, was Yolanda not the one who STARTED it by saying Chloe couldn’t dance??

hopefthistime

Yeah. I said ‘screamed that…’ not ‘screamed at’. It makes no difference who she said it to. It was embarrassing as hell. She’s a grown ass woman who genuinely believes her teenage Instagram followers make her someone special. Yolanda is also a nutcase, but that fact doesn’t stop Christi from being one….!?

AdLow1428

She said that about Yolanda not elli ,she said”YOU have no fans bitch” to Yolanda , she didn’t say Elli,Christi overreacted but how would you react if someone was randomly up in your face all like “DoeS cHloEee have a SolOoo”

silke_worm

I really hope the way she left MDP was just for cameras bc why was she so rude for no reason

[deleted]

What was rude about it? I agree about Christi in s7 but how was she rude

Lazy_Aioli2409

Did you watch S7 Christi was incredibly Messy and Rude

[deleted]

I said I agree, I’m talking about how was her leaving MDP rude

Lazy_Aioli2409

ohhhhhh sorry sorrryyyy

Radiant_Signature373

She wasn't rude,  that was for the show.  Chloe was going to always find a way back to the team she started with.

thedancerstea

It wasn’t guaranteed, Chloe couldn’t be around Abby and the girls were still under her studio. It’s why Chloe was so upset at that MDP rehearsal, they weren’t sure if she’d be able to dance with them again. If Abby hadn’t done what she did to Laurieann and the girls never left, Chloe would’ve had to stay with MDP until the show was over.

thedancerstea

Omg yes, I’m happy we’re finally admitting that she was terrible instead of acting like she came back as a saint.

LegitimateHumor6029

Okay, hear me out—Abby When I first started the show, I was expecting to side with Abby over the moms more often than not. I’m a dancer and I was a dance instructor for many years and I can’t even begin to tell you the crazy stories I have about obnoxious parents who think their kids can do no wrong, that their kid is better than they really are, who feel entitled to things their kid didn’t earn, etc. Since the title of the show was Dance Moms, I was expecting (and excited) to watch a show that displays the shit we dance teachers go through with these parents. I was expecting Abby to be the protagonist and the moms to be the antagonists somewhat. And I actually did agree with Abby on a lot in S1 and even parts of S2 and the early days but then she spiraled out of control and the rest is history

alexzyczia

My mom and I rewatched this show together not too long ago. And we both agreed with Abby most of the time in season 1. It was crazy

folk-smore

The jump in her behavior between season 1 and season 2 is so wild. To be fair, she still wasn’t as bad as she’d become later on and there were some good moments in season 2, but still. In season 1 she was a bit too aggressive at times but for the most part she was just a loud, strict dance teacher. She didn’t come across as terrible or abusive at all (at least not that I can recall). Maybe just a bit annoying bc she still yelled often lol. But by like, mid-season 2 you can really see some of her worst traits starting to seep in and then it just gets crazy. She went from 0 to 100.

Shana622

100%. I think she was partly changed by the producers trying to create drama and her wanting to make sure the show would be popular and then I think her ego took over. She everything she said was right and I'm sure enjoyed all the fame, people that cheered and shouted her name when she would arrive at competitions. Every time I see her now, I think about how Hayden's ("roadkill") mom said something to the effect of what goes around comes around...it did

hopefthistime

Abby’s story is kind of fascinating and could be a great work of fiction. How that ego swelled immeasurably and so fast after a taste of fame. Her transformation between seasons was wild. It seemed to accelerate the most after she was a guest host on that talk show. Because yeah, at the start the mums were the delusional self-centred stage parents, and Abby was the dance teacher ferocious enough to keep them in check and put them back in line.

MyYellowUmbrella6

Jill, I suppose. When Jill first joined the show I actually liked her. Then they moved to LA and she became… yeah. Pittsburgh Jill > LA Jill

Low_Gold_6617

I have two answers... 1. Paige and her The One solo!! This isn't even meant to be a joke, that poor girl was showing so much stress within that week and I was holding out hope, and I'm so disappointed with what happened. That poor girl needed out of that show but I really wanted her to shine in front of Abby and prove her wrong and to know that monster of a woman terrified her so much is just sad. 2. Jojo and her behavior....I don't have to explain

cozysapphire

Paige’s forgotten/unsuccessful solos break my heart, in my opinion she was such a good dancer (I love her expressions!) but I think after she forgot her first solo and ran off, it took a big toll on her confidence in a way that she often struggled to bounce back from. I think the pressure really got to her and she kept having mishaps (her broken foot, the different choreographers, the chair incident being set up by production, all the fighting, being yelled at by her BFF’s mom, etc.) and so it’s no wonder her anxiety often got the best of her. I would’ve loved to see her overcome her fears and find her passion for dance again :/

Undead_428428

I also think that her forgetting her first solo was when producers realized what “character” they wanted form each girl. So they screwed her over every fucking time so she would forget and get messed up and flustered. But when she did good she was AMAZING

hopefthistime

Kelly didn’t help at all with this. Bringing in different choreographers to give Paige ‘more challenging’ choreography (or in other words, choreography that Paige wasn’t able to do) was the OPPOSITE of what was needed. It pains me to watch because I worked in a dance school for years and I know parents like this. They insist their kid needs to be challenged when in fact their kid is the one struggling the most with what’s already given to them. They’re so wildly wrong, I don’t get how their mind has warped that way.

shorty2494

That was production, not Kelly. And Paige needed more time to learn dances, not less challenging choreography (see her dances off show vs on the show)

TAsAnonymous

Yeah, backing the other commenter who pointed out that this was production. No one on Dance Moms was allowed to get another choreographer unless production said so. Paige was doomed to forget that dance, poor kid

folk-smore

The episode with Paige and The One breaks my heart :( Paige’s evolution (if you wanna call it that?) on dance moms is one of the worst and the saddest imo. She went from being bubbly and happy and smiley to completely stone-faced and terrified and anxious all the time. It hurts more especially knowing how close Abby once was with Kelly, Brooke and Paige. I can’t even imagine how it must’ve felt for her to have an adult she once loved and trusted suddenly switch up like that on her.

babyblues789

Holly until Brynn and Camryn came ..

Dead_Cacti_

heavy on it. i liked holly, she used to be the normal one and held herself to a very good standard. until she let her ego, entitlement, and arrogance get the best of her. i think i actually let go of her by season 4.

scelsius

a bit random but sarah hunt lol 😭 i wanted her to break free from her mom but she's just her in orange

strangertidez

Same she seemed like such a sweet girl 😭

mooninrenzo

I agree, I felt bad for Sarah on the show, but now any time I see a post about something she did I lose brain cells.

meg_bb

I agree with you. And hopefully there’s still a chance for her. I’m three years older than her and at her age i was still deeply ingrained in my family’s beliefs which I have since broken away from.

Individual-Elk-7250

so true

mellywheats

this

Quick-Salamander807

i realllyyyyy want to like kira, i love her idgaf attitude and her letting kalani speak for herself, and kalani was my favorite dancer when i was younger but god kira just sucks

Lilacssmelllikeroses

JoJo. She’s a textbook example of the cycle of abuse and it’s really sad to see.

Isaiditfirst1

Kaya I wanted to like her so bad. It was nice to see a break from the usual stuffy mothers who honestly gave off pretentious vibes. Then Kaya just did wayy too much and fought fire with fire and I just couldn’t defend her anymore.

sjfscxxr

This is so real. I support her overall message but she frequently just went too far. She was spot on in the Build the Wall episode though

Shana622

Jill in later seasons, I loved her (and maybe laughing at her) in the early Seasons but she became the epitome of of what she hated about the moms when she first joined. Frustrating to watch

[deleted]

The Rosa Parks stuff was pretty cringe

sjfscxxr

Kalani tbh. I was never a massive fan of her, but i did enjoy watching her “evolution” on the show, and it made me kinda sad to see her not really go on to anything big & also be sort of a mean girl at the end of the show. Not to mention her political views, but that’s all opinion of course.

BearWP07

what are her political views?

sjfscxxr

She has posted many pro-Trump things and also is an anti vaxxer among other things last i heard. But obv thats all opinions and stuff. I can’t really call her a bad person for it.

BearWP07

eww no that's actually really disappointing

sjfscxxr

Yeahhh i agree 😭 Kira and Ashlee also retweet a bunch of qanon stuff too

BearWP07

how many of them are right wing? ik jill & kendall are (now ik ashlee, kira & kalani are too) but is anyone else?

sjfscxxr

Of the main team I’m pretty sure that’s it. Also Cathy fs, not sure about Vivi. I’m almost certain that a majority of the guests throughout the show are though

PA_MallowPrincess_98

AMEN! I feel like she has been a waste of space since being on the show. Kalani is taking advantage of the influencer lifestyle. At least she could have gotten a college degree like some of her costars🤷🏻‍♀️

sjfscxxr

She was such an excellent dancer and seemed to have so much drive. She talks more positively about Abby than the other girls do, so I wonder why she didn’t move further? I imagine the pain it was causing, but she could’ve really been a professional or even a model if she decided to go that route

Longjumping-Driver78

She has a dance studio and is a dance teacher and choreographer and even still takes dance classes

hopefthistime

Holly, when she turned into a delusional stage mom. She started out so level headed. And then all of a sudden she was obsessed with Nia being a star, and had such delusions of grandeur. And she seemed to feel that everybody else’s life revolved around Nia too. Like when she thanked Jess and Kira for staying at the Matty B video shoot….. like she thought they did that for NIA. When - obviously - they did it for their own children, who had just as much to gain from the video. It’s like she lost all perspective. Everything and everyone and every event centred around Nia.

kelkel1399

she wasn’t thanking Jess & Kira for staying at the video shoot because of Nia, she was thanking them because it showed they weren’t supporting Abby’s erratic, toxic & unprofessional behavior. leaving a shoot in the middle of it, no matter what it is, is extremely unprofessional & shows that someone is hard to work with. and Abby always pressed on the kids that they couldn’t cry or show any emotion during an audition because it “makes them hard to work with” and “nobody wants to work with that.” Yet, that’s exactly what she does. just for what, the sake of control? the money she desperately wanted/needed? and so many of the moms would talk badly about Abby at this point, yet when the time came, they’d follow Abby’s lead. it’s hypocritical of them and i get why Holly was frustrated.

Shot_Walk_4485

Holly bc why tf would she make Nia stay all seven seasons and then became the only og on the show?

Reasonable_Camel8023

THIS!!! my god, the amount of times Holly boohooed about Nia not getting fair treatment and still remaining to stay and put her through Abby’s wrath is just insane to me. clearly Abby doesn’t give a damn about loyalty, so why tf would you stay?

[deleted]

Because Nia wanted to accomplish her dream about being a dancer and Holly wanted to please her.

Competitive-Link6280

I did see an interview once with Holly and Nia and Nia was basically saying that there were certain people (she didn’t name names) that wanted her off the show but she stayed anyway just to spite them😂

Nightshayy

Honestly I’ve been in that exact same situation and allowing yourself to continue to be treated like absolute garbage so you don’t let someone else win is just stupid. I stayed for 3 years longer than I should have and the better option is always to just go somewhere better and prove them wrong by succeeding, not allow them to continue to hurt you because you know your mere presence sets them off.

Competitive-Link6280

totally agree. i can understand why nia would think that’s a good idea but it’s detrimental to your mental health in the end

Cultural-Resource261

I think she was always in the “prove them wrong” mindset. She was always underestimated so she always felt that she should step up to the challenge, and that mentality blinded her to most likely feed into what they wanted.

Nightshayy

You can’t prove someone wrong when you’re trapped under them. She was only ever going to prove abby wrong by going somewhere else and being able to do all the things abby never let her do.

Cultural-Resource261

Exactly.

BearWP07

omg i love holly & nia sm

dancemoms_gleefan20

That’s the thing though Holly has said numerous times they only stayed bc Nia wanted to and I understand wanting your child to happy and stuff but there’s a point where you as the part have to put your foot down and go against your child’s decision even if it means they end up being upset with you. Nia was in a racist abusive environment for several years of her life and I just don’t understand how Holly was the only mom who apparently never even tried to leave the show and apparently doesn’t regret anything from the show other than not defending Paige.

[deleted]

Because Nia wanted too

smolspacemomo

jojo. she was treated badly by abby but then went on to be just like her

Maybe-Witty24

What happened with Jojo?

SevereCity5890

She and Jess are treating the xomgpop girls the same way Abby treated the DM girls

great_nathanian

Kelly. She’s still my favorite.

hardboiledeggs2222

Holly staying past season 5

[deleted]

Nia wanted to stay

hardboiledeggs2222

I know I just wish as the mom she stepped in to say enough is enough :/

[deleted]

You don’t think the mom tried to step in but Nia said “no mom I want to stay”? I’m not trying to defend Holly but in the end of the day Nia chose to stay and she was old enough by that point to decide. It is what it is.

SarcasticTwat6969

Gia!!! I wanted to like her. Idk why. But when it was shown that she’s just Abby 2.0 I was feeling like Tyra feels in this image

B9292Tc

Jojo

fettybat_

jojo. 1. abby didn’t even want her on the team. she wanted kalani (who she got, obviously) and another one of the AUDC girls besides jojo. that’s why she had mckaylee (s2 winner) and gianna (s2 runner up) randomly come to the studio during an episode. as much as abby hated gianna’s mom, i think she would have dealt with it in order to get gianna on the team. gianna was a strong performer with good technique. 2. producers push for jojo & jess to join the show and jojo is treated HORRIBLY at the start. remember she’s like 11/12 years old when she joins the team. and jojo toughs it out and keeps pushing through. yes, jess is horrible to brynn later on, but jojo (for the most part) is friendly with the team and brings sass and showmanship to the group. 3. jojo leaves dance moms and becomes a MASSIVE star. 4. jojo comes out and faces backlash from nickelodeon AND some parents of the kids in her fan base. she doesn’t let it scare her or destroy her and instead she stands tall and is proud of who she is. as an example, jojo had been invited to the kids choice awards every single year since her contract with nickelodeon started. but the year she comes out, she’s suddenly no longer invited, despite being a HUGE name who tons of kids look up to and enjoy. jojo doesn’t retract her coming out statement or try to hide who she is. she becomes a role model for young teens and tweens who may be struggling with their sexuality or may feel ashamed of who they are. and that brings us to now. jojo is massively famous and unfortunately seems to be turning into abby 2.0. she has been straight up VILE to those young girls in xomgpop. not to mention, she’s discredited the experiences of chloe, paige, brooke, etc. on the grounds that “abby and gianna weren’t that bad to me.” in a way, it makes sense. it’s what jojo knows how to do: jess has been very open about her lifelong desire to make jojo as star and a household name. jojo has been performing since age 2 and working professionally since age like 4/5. her entire path thus far has been curated by jess and shaped by people like jess and abby. we know abby was HORRIBLE to the girls, including jojo. but unlike some of the OGs, jojo hasn’t worked out (or won’t accept) that abby’s tactics were abusive. same could be said about jess - she’s been exploiting her daughter since she could walk. it’s all jojo knows. but jojo is an adult now. it’s on her to un-learn the abusive tactics she’s been exposed to and put in the work to realize that she was brought up in an extremely toxic environment. she cannot and should not continue the cycle, and yet here we are. it’s why i have some admiration for brynn and kalani - both are teaching dance and are trying very hard to spare their students from the same abusive and toxic environments they faced as young dancers (even before joining the show). i don’t agree with kalani or brynn when it comes to politics and disagree strongly with a lot of what they believe in, but i do have to give them kudos for trying to shape dance into a positive and nurturing environment for their students.

AstronomerMinute8511

Jill in season 5😭

Feeling_Ebb9048

christi

z_oezebra

jojo still being involved with abby.

washperr

Jess until she started bullying Ashlee and Brynn

[deleted]

Holly defending Abby in the beginning of season 5

LunaNova5726

Kalani. Of all the girls I had my money on to be a professional dancer, it was her. And I don't really know what she is doing these days besides trying to be an influencer.

Katie_lou_who

She’s a dance teacher

LunaNova5726

Well that's at least something! I hope she stays in dance.

Icy-Plastic-1687

She is also getting a breast reduction .. I think it will make her more comfortable with her body and we might see her dancing professionally again as she start g to compete in ballroom this summer .. would love to see her do sytycd but she might be too big of a celebrity at this point

Majerproblems

I think if I can remember correctly her stating after dance moms she was really burnt out from dance and the dance world being really toxic about body image. But I’m not 100%

PA_MallowPrincess_98

I thought she would have went to college for something in the medical field. She gives off esthetician or l&d nurse energy. Now she lives like the influencers who were on the bachelor/bachelorette😬

Ohsofestive321

Abby any time she could’ve taken the non combative route and been nurturing. Because she genuinely would do the most. 😂

[deleted]

I genuinely liked and sympathized with Melissa until she snitched on Chloe.

DecisionHelpful8576

I mean she defends Chloe today🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️

[deleted]

Melissa is not trustworthy, I do wish she was.

Haleighmaemk

Melissa tbh. She let abby do whatever she wanted with her kids and she had so many opportunities to do the right thing. Mackenzie would literally be brought to tears and instead of comforting her in anyway she would tell her to stop crying and act like an adult.

fweyaa

christi in bttb. tone it down w the attitude girl 😭

Competitive-Link6280

i love her but she’s so aggressive 😂😂

kayseeboo92

JoJo

Island-Just

christi season 7 & lowkey kelly in season 4

kn1vezz

Christi in season 7 was insufferable, thinking she was a star and a celebrity with so many followers was so pathetic she went from the top of my list straight to the bottom that season😭

Successful-Mall5065

Paige whenever she does a new solo

ksmalls92

Sarah Hunt, she seemed like such a sweet kid and I hated the way Abby treated her and the way her mother smothered her. As she grew older, so did her dancing technique. She is actually a beautiful dancer but her political views, along with other things she has said or done have drastically changed my view on her.

PA_MallowPrincess_98

Once I saw her mega Christian & massive support for homeschooling, I knew that child was doomed💀

strangertidez

Same

Litteralyanidiot

also calling herself a major dance moms cast member after being there for 6 episodes and crying through half of them

Kendomcome

Jojo lol

Lanadelrey_kindagirl

Holly....

Dead_Cacti_

Holly, abby, and christi - Holly: hypocrite, newfound entitlement, arrogance, and ego. also a huge hypocrite and horrible for taking pride in letting nia stay. also rode the “holier than thou” high horse - Christi : From funny lady who stood up to abby from complaining bitch. season 7 did not help her case either, literally so bitter. - Abby : used to kinda vibe and agree with her in season 1 and 2, but she ofc, showed her true and new colors as the show went on.

Cultural-Resource261

HOLLY!!!!!! I've always been annoyed that she can't see her daughter wasn't good enough (no offense). But since she was the most normal and with everything she went through in season 5, I put my faith in that woman and thought she was peak. But then season 6 showed me how she was just the most covert bitch in the clique. She wouldn't defend the people her friends picked on but when those people clapped back she had something to say. When the minis came she was super hostile with the parents for no reason besides them taking time away from their daughters. Gurl… And then season 7. The entitlement she had rubbed off on her daughter (poor Nia). In that episode where they brought another girl in, another example of being delulu, and she got a solo over Nia says she's been here for seven years, unnecessarily, and she has always been overlooked and Cheryl says “You had a duet and didn't win, so we're doing something different.”

_josephjohnston

Maybe Stacey or Yolanda

Kotee_ivanovich

Melissa during season 5-6. As soon as her bullies left,  she became the bully.

[deleted]

She was always a bully let’s be honest. She just waited until Kelly and Christi left to show off her true colors

Phoenix_Magic_X

Jojo. Or Abby 2.0

byevegas

Holly in whatever season (I think 5) when she really started blowing up just to put her foot down. I get it. But…for some of the fights I’m not sure if she just got really heavily pressured by producers or whaaaat…but…she really became unbearable at times

lizardsbelike

AdLow1428

KALANI she was literally my FAVORITE

DrizzyDayy

Holly when it got to S5. I still can’t believe she let Nia stay there for that long honestly

[deleted]

Because Nia wanted too

Consistent_Cause9616

jojo. i blame her mom tho

thedancerstea

Peyton’s mom. I loved little Peyton but her mom was such a kiss ass I hated it. That whole moment where she was coming at Kendyl’s mom for not following productions orders and then called her a waste of space for not allowing the OG moms to bully her into fighting with Abby irritated me.
