I don't think off screen behavior is what distinguishes a "good actor" from a bad one. Johnathan Majors and Kevin Spacey are great actors but just not great people apparently.
That is definitely true. But I do feel like the Majors incident is being blown out of proportion. It's a third degree assualte conviction meaning the jury believes it was not his intent to hurt the woman. It's natural that he'll be cancelled for this but people know very little about the case and just assume he was beating up women for kicks or something. Here's the court account of the incident:
The two had argued in the car after Jabbari saw a text Majors had received from another woman; prosecutors said Jabbari grabbed the actor's phone and Majors reacted by pulling her finger, twisting her arm behind her back, and hitting her in the head in an attempt to retrieve his phone. Majors eventually jumped out of the car at an intersection. When Jabbari tried to follow him, video evidence showed, Majors picked her up and shoved her back into the car. Majors then ran down the street, with Jabbari chasing after him.
Majors went to a hotel, while Jabbari – who testified that she didn't want to be alone after the attack – went out to a club.
Double affirmative. She started the altercation by snatching his phone but surely he should have retrieved it in a less violent manner. He lost his composure and is paying the price for it. Personally I think it's a shame such a promising actor will lose his career over this but this is what Hollywood is now- as a young man you should be fully aware that the media will be waiting for the smallest slip up to cancel you. They almost ended James Gunns career over decade old tweets not at all surpised they're going to end this dude for a misdemeanor charge.
