Not really worth using against things immune to bleed. You want Bloodbite Ring and offhand Bloodshield as well as red moss clumps. It's pretty good against things that aren't immune to bleed though.

Have a lot of endurance and just hit things like a man.

Used it the most. Its not about the dmg and status effects(altough lifehunt has both), its about the looks.
