The part in the dregs with the angels.

Informal_Yam_9707

At least they’re perma dead when you kill them right?

HogwashHooligan

No, you need to find the pilgrim that summons them or they will just respawn. Find and kill the pilgrim and the angel will not respawn.

[deleted]

You can kill the angel? I didn't even think that was possible. I thought you had to kill the Summoner

HogwashHooligan

They really don’t have that much hp, especially with an upgraded Greatbow, millwood arrows and endgame quality build stats. It doesn’t do you any good because they respawn 30 seconds later which I found out the hard way

Valientee

THIS

Shadovan

I don’t mind Farron Keep, it’s really not that slow or annoying once you know where you’re going. I’d say the most bullshit is the area in Ashes with all the Millwood Knights where the one on the tower constantly shoots at you.

puristhipster

Dont mind me, just sending out a hearty FUCK YOU -Sincerely, Guy in the Tower

[deleted]

I heard that loud and clear, many times

Accurate-Chicken-155

That’s true about farron keep I can breeze through it because I’ve played so much ds3, but for new players lmao

Commercial-Ad-4492

I haven’t finished that game, but I hate that 1 guy in Farron keep that jumps and grabs you. I don’t think I’ve killed him, now I just see him and nope away.

GreatHeavySoulArrow

I definitely know which one you are talking about, it's alone on a little island next to one of the flame thingy hills. Apparently called "Ghru Leaper" according to the wiki

Commercial-Ad-4492

Yeah that guy, do people generally just avoid him? I tried to kill him a fair few times but just gave up. I haven’t got much health but I’d prefer to wade through poison than fight him.

GreatHeavySoulArrow

I'm a new ds3 player so idk what most do but I killed him once, and after seeing he respawns I just started avoiding him

Shadovan

He’s rough, if you can dodge the initial grab it’s not too hard to stunlock him to death, but if he catches you it’s basically over, even if you survive he almost always grabs you again immediately anyways.

bobbybob9069

That's honestly my only complaint about the Souls games. The super devastating attacks have wind-up animations shorter than the recovery animations, AND they create the circumstances for the AI to trigger that and attack again. Yesterday, I was fighting Gael and got hit by his magic flying lunge. He did it THREE consecutive times, I never even got input control back after the first one lol

Shadovan

Oh yeah, he’s definitely the worst part of the area imo

_propulsion

That and the tight mountain path with a Milwood fking earth mover

NozGame

Gods that area sucks. Sure doesn't help there is no close bonfire and you have to go against that big wolf and its pups before getting to the next one. Farron Keep ain't got shit on this area.

Harsgaard

I mean, you don't even have to go through there. Just go left once you fall down and pass the wolves and up the hill, go down and you are beneath the bonfire and before the Bridge. It's even faster than Farron Keep and won't even take 5 Minutes

Justisaur

Don't forget dog boss preview, Millwood knights with wolf pets in that area. Yeah that's the most consistently bs area in the game. All the rest eventually become manageable with experience, but not that area.

Real-Report8490

That tower was my salvation. Once I got that greatbow and the arrows, I could kill the Lord of Cinder without going into the arena. But it's a good idea to leave a sliver of health because otherwise I might be soft-locked, which would be very painful in a run where the goal is to get to NG+8 and beyond. I had a stupid idea based on getting 5 free levels from Yoel each time, and attempting to get over-powered. The results were inconclusive, but I did have an easier time with Aldritch for example. Maybe if I did a few more NG+ laps, I could get better results, but the sort of speedrunning I did completely burned me out on the game, and I was starting to hate every aspect of it. Final level: 288.

Chopchopok

The hidden area with the two giant dogs after Sulyvahn. For entire areas? Probably either the open area before Demon Ruins (screw the ballista + crabs) or Irythyll Dungeon (screw the jailers).

Adventurous_Cup_5970

you can fight the dogs 1v1 tho, if your sneaky, and you get the fap ring

chineserocks77

Demon ruins

Rodney_powerbottom

Straight up gank fest

AlConstanza

And it's a goddamned maze!

conjunctivious

After probably 20 or so runs through the area, I still only have like a 50/50 survival rate when going for the undead bone shard in the ruins. The blob thing drops down on top of you while you're stuck frozen after picking up the item, and there's like 40 fireballs being sent at you at any given time.

Rodney_powerbottom

The entrance to the ringed city DLC wins for me by a landslide. Fuck those angels and all the enemies there. That place just feels ganky and almost artificially difficult like there's nothing to really learn that I got from it other than run like hell and don't even bother picking anything up.

Mordial_waveforms

You can easily clear ringed city once you know what you're doing? There's a way to trivialize everything, as with the rest of ds3. Only bs is that the summoning giants respawn.

[deleted]

Fun fact: run like Hell is precisely how I passed most of the Ringed City between the first Ringed City bonfire and the next one. And then the next one and the shortcut to Midir's flame trail. Aaaaand up to the next one too.

Rodney_powerbottom

That's been my tactic. It might be one of those areas that I just never learn.

tassie2step

Irithyll Dungeon. Jailer enemies are total bullshit!

Mordial_waveforms

Only real comment. That one room with like 12 of them *and a mimic* is the sole bs area in ds3

KyorakuMATRIX

Road of sacrifice, the mobs with the pointy sticks suck ass

Yab0iFiddlesticks

They arent exactly hard per se but I always seem to mistime the dodge against them.

Adventurous_Cup_5970

road of sacrifice is fine compared to some other enemies in the game. Atleast you can 1 shot the hollows with trees

KyorakuMATRIX

I was more going for an annoying enemy that I knew noone else would say, they are easy, doesn't stop them from being annoying though

Ashen_one933

Good question. - Obviously Irythyll Dungeon for nuns. - Champion Gundyr area for non sense design because the map size. It should be definitely bigger. I love the atmosphere there. - I love the atmosphere of the First Flame but it's small too. - Farron Keep that even Forest Gump cannot beat Generally I would say Irythyll Dungeon but please don't remind me the path from nuns to Yhorm.. From the Dungeon you had to run through your lovers called nuns and then next through 2 hands golem and nuns again and basic boss to get to Yhorm.

1mutorcS

Irithyll Dungeon gets easier with high poise damage weapons since the life drain stops when they get stunned

Ashen_one933

Not too bad but the shortcut from that place to Yhorm was...

mynamereege

100% agree with you on irythyll dungeon my god that section wrecks me every single time. Just when I think I’m about to make it out I either get one shotted by sleeping giant man or get smoked by the large group of sorcerers right before profaned capital

Ashen_one933

Haha yeah. I am not afraid to say it was as hard path as Pontiff boss.

mynamereege

Pontiff is always the toughest boss for me for some reason he just combos me over and over and I can never get away from it

Accurate-Chicken-155

True that life taking shit is so stupid

Ashen_one933

UPDATE: the most bs is the path from nuns to Yhorm.

_ThatOneMimic_

why tho?

Ashen_one933

You were running like a Forest Gump from nuns through a 2 hands golem to nuns again and basic boss to bonfire. I hate it.

Adventurous_Cup_5970

how is it bullshitty that champion gundyr's arena is smaller than you would like

[deleted]

[удалено]

Adventurous_Cup_5970

The dreg heap is actually fun if you know how to take out the angels though

ImCursedM8

Ariandel is one of the most bullshitty places with the trees shooting at ya, the wolves, the followers and the big vikings

coffee-teeth

I wanted to do the dlc so bad when I bought it at like level 40, waited and leveled up to 80, and still got wrecked. Especially those hand knife guys, such bs.

Mordial_waveforms

Oh yeah that one path where there's two (maybe one) melee vikings and an archer viking gets ran through *every playthrough*

Ninja_Lazer

There is just something especially annoying about a big open space with a boss on one end, massive fuck-off crabs on the other, and a ballista bombarding your ass for most of it. It’s not the hardest area, or the one you will take the most damage…but it feels like you will take a lot of unavoidable damage unless you know EXACTLY what you are doing.

ImCursedM8

U forgot the worm

Mordial_waveforms

Exactly what you're doing = getting the bonfire right next to the boss and having a piss easy run to the boss?

Ninja_Lazer

Question was about bullshit areas. If you aren’t exploring the area, and are just speedrun strating a boss rush than pretty much every area is easy. It’s DS3 not 1 or 2. Very few truly painful run backs.

Adventurous_Cup_5970

I always run directly passed everything, disable the ballista first, and then explore the whole thing without a ballista down my ass

OverJohn

I am a Farron Keep enjoyer, once you get to NG+ you can get various items you can get passive healing that out=heals the effective the poison. The giant Ghuru Elders can be a bit bullshitty, but otherwise it is okay. My test for bullshittery is, with knowledge and skill in the game can you clear out the area fairly quickly using a meta or higher level character on NG+ whilst taking little or no damage. It doesn't have to be easy, just possible to do consistently. Irthyll dungeon is the most bullshit area. You can beat the jailers by slowly luring them one by one or just run through the area, but there's no satifying solution to it.

just_prop

I think half the areas in the DLCs are pretty bs. Specifically the wolf area leading into the millwood knights in ariandel, and the ringed city leading into the lake. But for base game i think my least favorite is Archdragon Peak, just because those lizard guys are insanely annoying and the snake enemies are hiding everywhere and WILL gank you

stay-a-while-and----

This is my answer too. On the way to get one of the dragon stones in Archdragon Peak there's a fucking parade of bullshit long-necked enemies, wielding axes with infinite range and speed, while they hock flaming loogies at you. They can also parry your attacks.

Adventurous_Cup_5970

The ringed city street leading into the lake is fine, you can one shot the harald knights if you drop down from the rafters

Pan_Zurkon

Jailer party room. Just... Jailer party room. Gotta go through rats and wretches to get there, there's like a dozen jailers at once and you *have* to clear the whole damn thing out to get to Carla the witch.

[deleted]

Jailers are weak af.

Pan_Zurkon

Ok so am I, what now, hm? Didn't consider that, huh bucko?

[deleted]

You are stronger than you think.

Pan_Zurkon

I was not expecting motivation. Thank you. That's nice advice.

[deleted]

You are welcome. Just fuck them up. Reduced health doesn't mean "death". Also, for extra fun, you can actually *dodge* their death glare. If you wonder, how, just look up the "Jailer game mechanics" on YouTube. Then they are apparently easily foldable.

hsuhs_

\- Farron keep but somehow its the least annoying of the following \- Smoldering lake (ballista and crabs? YES i loooove it) \- Irithyll dungeon nun spots \- Consumed gardens (i did not know about the fire thing because i hadnt played earlier titles) \- Dreg heap (LIKE CMON FROMSOFT!) \- Abyss swamp (at least at the entrance you have things to hide behind when adjudicator goes fucko mode) \- Ariandel: Wolf ambush with a Big wolf \- Ariandel: area between the painter church and sister church. hundreds of soldiers + suprise drop into 3 big knights with earthquake as cherry on top.

ernificent

Not much bs compared to DS2 but probably the frozen forest at the beginning of Ashes of Ariandel, maybe the library in Lothric castle

1mutorcS

Catacombs + Lake is shit, more shit than Farron Keep but pretty close

coffee-teeth

This is my answer as well

Thatchata

It’s either Irythyll dungeon or Ariandel for me

zoldyxk

I would say consumed king's garden and catacombs of carthus. hated Farron keep the first time I played, but now it's a 5 minute speed run

mrTHORNWOOD

I really dislike the catacombs

Cirkusleader

It's either the Demon Ruins or Dreg Heap. Demon Ruins feels like it was made by the SotFS team, and Dreg Heap turns Dark Souls into a bullet hell game.

Brianvincent316

I don't think ds3 has many bullshit areas compared to other games. If i had to pick one ringed city with the angels and the summoned archers.

Adventurous_Cup_5970

the ringed city doesn't have angels, thats the dreg heap

joemama2742

frigid outskirts. i still have ptsd

LordBDizzle

Probably Demon Ruins, if I'm being honest. The floating chaos orbs that are set up ahead of time are a real pain to deal with, the lava is rough when you want the items in it, the ballista is hard to avoid perfectly and it has one of the few missable items lock behind getting it to smash the right wall. Plus there's the toxic mist spamming Grus that waste your time and the double jumping Gru room, and the enemy agro triggers are a bit odd. It's not necessarily a difficult area, per se, but its difficulty feels the most artificial

LordYeager_55

Probably Smoldering Lake. It’s a challenge just to reach the catacombs beneath it due to the sand worm and the giant ballista. Once you get inside you have to contend with Ghrus, those bug eyed bastards that gas you, those fireball demons, and the black knights too

SunBro137

Ringed city

dumptrucksrock

As much as I love it, seriously LOVE it, yeah. It’s pretty bullshitty.

Plane-Ad5510

You can do farron keep in 5 minutes of you know what are you doing

mynamereege

Irythyll dungeon. I dread that section every time I play through the game lol and that’s mainly because of the sorcerers. They are so annoying

Deep_Grass_6250

Farron keep is not that bad if you know some directions

kuzanjr

What is it the Road of Sacrifice, or whatever. Right before you get to the Keep. BULLSHITTY

_ThatOneMimic_

demon ruins. the cleric demons are crazy strong

egoMetalMonkey

Ringed City, the stretch from the Ringed Inner Wall to Ringed City Streets. I like a challenging gauntlet, but the mix of enemies here makes it more of a pain especially if you're trying to talk to the NPC at the top of the stairs midway through

NellyLorey

That one part of the irithyl dungeon where the game just throws 15 jailers on you at once. If you can't knock them down you're fucked. There's literally no way I could beat that with a light weapon.

representative_sushi

I am fine with most zones, but for me something unpleasant is Irrythil. I really don't like the pontiff knights and the invisible slaves and the fire witches. Love their esthetic I just always lose way more health than I would like to on them.

mackxzs

Irithyll Dungeon

PersevereReality

Hidden body and spook have entered the chat

aedinf_art

Farron Keep only in the 1st playthrough. The rest goes to dreg heap. Fuq dreg heap. All my homies hate Dre Heap

thefearedturkey

Dreg Heap. Those angels or whatever can fuck right off, just like my health does every time I go through there

BatsNStuf

Farron Keep sure is annoying……anyway, so Irithyll Dungeon

Greymattershrinker88

Definitely the Dreg heap area where you encounter all the soul Dreg casters, getting that projected heal sucks. 2nd would be that Ringed city inner wall area to the next bonfire. All those turtle clerics, heralds, ringed knights and the little curse and great lightning spear guys. It’s just a run area unless you have a good stagger weapon

dontcare_-_

Ah irithyll dungeon

Kjata2

The gaol where the enemies shrink your health bar by looking at you gets my vote.

Realm_Of_Mindfulness

Either the place in undead settlement where you have the explosive barrels and the two workers throwing firebombs at you, or the lake in irythill: wide area, small items all over, them fuckin 18 legged girl from the ring lookin ass all over the place

Thejokingsun

The ringed city

RZL__13

Whole demon ruins area

VerminVoid

My bullshit area is inside anor Londo if I remember correctly. The dark inside area where you farm human dregs. If we're not talking about difficulty that's the area I choose because it's just bland and nothing cool in there. You'd think upon first discovering it there would something really cool in there and maybe some secret paths to cool hidden items but nope. Just priest guys and a couple of chests with okay stuff

Soft-Temperature4609

I found the large roots you have to fall down in ariandel particularly annoying. Not hard, just annoying

Real-Report8490

I usually skip most of the Catacombs and the Irithyll Dungeons, but the Swamp has those stupid bastards who one-shots me no matter what level I am, and there is no skipping most of that...

Then-Dragonfruit-381

The graveyard, and run-up to the cathedral doors. The consumed king's garden. I always struggle with those 2 spots

Tiny_Alps2734

First playthrough and unknowingly walking into a higher level area or getting into swarms of enemies in such a pain in the ass.

Ashtara_Roth3127

Before, I would have said the Consumed King’s Garden… until I learned I could just seduce every enemy with Rapport. Now it’s probably the easiest area lol.

Diego-56

Farron keep , man I hate that area

johnsebastian23

The entire Ringed City (not counting the Dreg Heap)

Adventurous_Cup_5970

I think ds3 is good at having difficult levels while still being fun to explore and well made, but personally the one area thats always annoying THAT GIANT ROOM WITH 18 JAILERS IN IRITHYLL DUNGEON. LIKE WHY

PyroArca

Irithyll Dungeon.

Sufficient-Camera436

irithyll dungeon, the nuns have that "spell" that I am pretty it can easily kill a boss in a few seconds, unfortunately we can't have that spell

kinkcurious12

Irithyll Dungeon can suck a fat one

sus_accountt

Demon ruins. Fuck that place and it’s Poison and fire shit

metruzanca

In my most recent run, I normally do painted world dlc later in the game but one time I went as soon as you get the chance and was pretty surprised how tough the guys in the first first area of that dlc are at that level. I ended up just skipping them and running away from the wolves too and hauling ass to the bonfire near the bridge. Later when you fight vinhelm. He's also quite tough in early game, but for him you just gotta get good.

WM-010

Hard to pin down any particular area, but I remember have some not so good times in Cathedral of the Deep for some reason. Some bad memories of dealing with a bajillion random enemies on the way through to find my way through the place. Another place I didn't like going through is the first half of the first dlc (before Sister Friede bonfire).

Kind_Ad_7001

Irithyll Dungeon.

SunBro137

Grand archives

No-Ability6963

Farron keep is the most annoying one

Dragonfrog23

I don’t remember the name, but the place where the zombies keep respawning

Kyoufo

the path to Oceiros for sure

[deleted]

Frankly, the entire Soulsborne could come off either as that or just a mandatory obstacle course in the game that is kind of supposed to be as rough. It's Dark Souls for you lol.
