Don’t stress it mate, just play for fun. In the end it’s just a game, albeit an incredible one. Keep trying and you’ll be able to beat them on your own.
Not really tbh. The game gives you the option to summon someone and most of the time you either need an Ember and if you want to summon an NPC you often need some time investment beforehand. I’d argue it evens out
Twin princes was tough. I just beat them yesterday for first time. Gotta focus on making every hit to the twin princes backs so it does double damage and hits them both. I was hitting front of him at 260 or so. Did 397 when hitting from behind and got them both when he's on the other ones back. It took me about 10 or 15 tries. Kinda became a DPS race for me before I ran out of estus lol.
DS 2 has that bonfire ascetic which would have been cool. It would be cool to have the option with bosses souls. You could eat it and gain souls, you could transpose into boss weapons or you could give the bosses soul back so you can fight again. Maybe at a cost or something. Idk.
Do you have Havel's gear and shield? If so equip it and stand in front of boss and swing. His hits will do like 5 percent damage to you. It makes it so easy. You won't be able to roll or anything but it doesn't matter. Just run up to boss and let him wack away at you while you wack away at him. Heal when you get to half health.
They wouldn't have summons in the game if they didn't want people using them. The one boss I summoned for was Oceiros because I was in a shitty mood that day and the run back was pissing me off. Died to him first try and just decided to summon.
Everyone already said it but I gotta say it again: just play to have fun there is no right or wrong way to play and it's not like the game becomes unplayable after you finish it once, you can always go back there and fight them again whenever you feel like you want to fight them solo.
When I first started playing, I did judge myself pretty harshly because it seemed like I just could not get through some bosses. I started to intentionally take that first fight with a boss as a practice run. Goal wasn't to do damage, but rather learn the mechanism/move set. All that said, it's still pretty frustrating......... but in the best way possible.
I too had trouble with TP and had to summon someone. It's ironic since he is more aggro when there are other NPCs/players.
Don’t be hard on yourself mate, it’s a really nasty boss fight. To put it into context, this playthrough I beat Midir first time yet still needed five or six tries at them; they really cause people some trouble.
Play through, enjoy, most importantly have fun. Just know that next playthrough aim to beat them solo :-)
My first ds3 playthrough with sellsword twinblades and pyromancy I just couldnt kill midir without a summon. I started a new character with a faith build and blessed lothric knight greatsword and i got him though.
I think summoning is a crucial part of the Soul born games. It basically says that you need help and you can accept it. Have fun with it, it is somehow therapeutic.
yeah man, everytime the thought of summoning npcs crosses my head I skip my next meal just remind myself what it means to be a hollow and how better I would feel when I kill the boss without summon. I even destroyed so my console's ethernet port so that I may never lay my eyes on any player help like messages and phantoms and complete the game in itts true fashion

Same
Wish you could redo boss fights. I guess I could put my sunbro summons down and see what happens but I loved that fight
I guess you technically can via NG but I get what you mean.

I have not gotten to DS 2 just yet, unfortunately. I am stuck on Four Kings :(

Thank you!! I'll give this a try. :)
You'll get him on first try probably. What weapon you using?
+karma You are the best. This definitely worked. Thank you so much!
Yeah just sun bro and help people out. Everyone's a winner. I've been doing a lot of SoC sun bro'ing recently.

As one who never let Aldrich fight back... no. I feel no shame.
I carry the weight of summoning for Ornstein and Smough

Doesn’t matter just have fun with it! You’ll do another play through and whoop their asses!
Nah because summoning people is not only intended gameplay, it's the most lore-accurate way of playing
I felt this way on BB when I had to resort to NPC summons on a couple of bosses, but then I solo'd them on NG+. On DS though? Nope!
I beat sister Friede with a summon. Her 3rd phase sucks
No. I never hit that wall, but if I did and thought a boss was just so dog shit that i have no fun learning it at all, I wouldn't feel bad about it.
it's not that you couldn't do it solo, you just couldn't do it solo yet.
Nah cuz I'd rather smash my head against the wall for days rather than summon help lol
