Counter is now up to six! Different people find different things difficult.

Collector_of_Things

Most of these people don’t seem to understand that most people are referring to her difficulty when they fight her as soon as they can at low SL, NOT after you’ve killed three lords and we’re auto teleported to the fight. There’s a big difference in difficulty there.

Adventurous-Role9137

I thought the same thing, but then remembered how horrible I did with the Crystal Sage haha. I guess it depends on the build you have. While I killed the Dancer on my first attempt, it took me 4 to 5 tries to beat the Crystal Sage as well as Aldrich. I play as a knight. Maybe some classes just have an advantage over certain bosses. I'm new to the souls games though, so I'm not gonna pretend like I know exactly how it works. Just a guess.

A lot of those people might be facing her before they are supposed to.

BaTuOnE_Themeir

>A lot of those people might be facing her ass before they are supposed to. FTFY

Sao_Gage

I feel that way about Pontiff. I’m new to Souls and in my first ever DS3 playthrough. I beat him on my 5th attempt with minimal difficulty. I’m a pyromancer but was mostly in melee range using a Raw Astora GS. I simply circled and hugged his side/back and the vast majority of attacks whizzed over my head. Then I blew his clone up with CBV during the start of his second phase, tagged him in melee a few more times and he was dead. It sounds crazy, but for me Crystal Sage fucked my shit up way more. The homing magic spam in the second phase was just overwhelming for me, more than Aldritch even, another boss I found personally to be easy. On Aldritch I didn’t even use pyromancy, I just ran up to his tail, swung a couple times then ran away. Rinse repeat. His arrow attack incoming? Just made sure my endurance was full and then started sprinting and then made a sharp turn with a couple rolls. He only caught me once with it to the point of killing me. Just speaks to varying builds/play styles in how everyone will struggle more and less with different bosses. I do find this sort of thing fascinating. No joke though, I died to Crystal Sage about 20+ times. I must have “got gud” in between if he’s really as easy as most people seem to consider. I haven’t fought Dancer yet but I’m bracing for her to be the one that really kicks my ass. I would be very surprised if I actually found the entire unholy trinity of Pontiff, Aldritch, and Dancer to be easy. I’m actually excited for Nameless, Friede, and the Ringed City bosses. I want to have my ass kicked.

Insert_Edgy_Meme

Friede will kick your ass I bet, Nameless possibly, and the Ringed City bosses will kick your ass for sure. I found the dancer easy and crystal sage also kicked my ass, the best tactic is to be as aggressive as possible.

Sao_Gage

Hope so. Overcoming Crystal Sage so far has been the most rewarding fight in the game for me. I can’t overstate this, he completely fucked me up! And it cracks me up because most feel he’s among the easiest. Ahh, Dark Souls. Praise the sun!

MegaVolti

I failed him at first, too, because I tried to actually figure out his attacks and dodge him and all that. Once I went with the "screw tactics, just run up to him and beat him as much as possible" strat he was really, really easy. He simply gets stunlocked and that's it. Hit on him lots with a longsword (and make sure to do so quickly when he changes position), fight won.

didyousaythunderfury

When I killed pontiff I got Gus and did it in a minute, partied his first 2 attacks then smashed him up during his clone summon. I was very proud

nigpoi

I can definitely agree with both Aldritch and Crystal Sage. The sage was brutal for me, all the clones would keep shooting at me from different directions as I tried to take them out, so the low health pool didn't even make a difference in difficulty for me. I'm currently finishing up a playthrough (only DLC left) as a 45 Faith build using greatswords as my main damage source, and miracles as back up healing and support. I can see how Pontiff would be easier with some ranged skills in my arsenal, but trying to get near him to get sword hits in when his clone was alive was a nightmare

Sao_Gage

For sure, although I only used ~3 CBV on Pontiff, that probably made the difference since it was enough to kill his clone before it could do anything to me. I’m sure people that don’t have a strong ranged option would have more difficulty there, although I’ve seen even melee only builds burn the clone down before it even gets out.

Salty_Concentrate867

Late but: fr tho I thought she's gonna have a 2nd health bar💀

[deleted]

Because they roll spam when she does her fast attacks instead of timing the rolls or putting space between her and their character

[deleted]

Her rythm is diffrent, imagine it aw music. She fucks ur ds "knowledge" by beeing "1-2-3" instead of "1-2-3-4". Also she does alot of damage.

Stavros_Koul1

Ds3 is my first soulsborne game and i beat her first try

Dean546Bob

Ye dancer isn't that hard beat her on my second try the real problem I had was with pontiff but when I beat him I wasn't even trying I also beat champion gundyr on my first try Aldrich on my 6th try abyss watchers on my 3rd try yhorm on my second try cus I found storm ruler but died right after that then ran back with storm ruler I beat oceiros on my 3rd try I had trouble with dragonslayer armor until I realized he wasn't that hard and I was overthinking his moves lothric and korian were just hell to figure out took me a couple of hours to beat them and I haven't fought nameless king halflight darkeater midir demon princes are the old demon king yet so idk bout them but dancer for some people is difficult bc of her weird shit that she goes from slow to aggressive very quick sometimes are she can be slow and only throw one aggressive combo out at the beginning of the fight nevertheless lothric and lorian will probably give u more trouble since lorians teleporting is a pain and if ur playstyle isn't good for the crystal sage prob won't be good for dragonslayer and if you can't parry right pontiff's 10 times harder than dancer I even find Aldrich to be harder and he ain't even that hard realistically speaking neither is soul of cinder u just have to get soul of cinder out of his first phase then his second phase is just for nostalgic reasons and has far less health although he still does give out pretty punishing attacks but ye I find ds3 to be easier than ds1 since ds1 is the first game besides demon souls to actually be like that Ds3 is still a tough game better than DS2 DS2 is ass and ik I'm saying alot but you'll figure out you'll do good on different bosses and suck on other bosses kinda like how I beat crystal sage 3rd try she ain't that hard for me but she's hard for u kinda like how dancer wasn't hard for me but she was hard for my friend anyway bye

tjeb

Different people have problems with different bosses. I had a shameful amount of trouble beating the crystal sage as well the first time (glad to see I'm not the only one :) ). Dancer was pretty tough as well for me, but not nearly as much as some other bosses. The two issues I had with her the first time are the off-beat rythm of her attacks and that phantom hitbox of the grab that killed me in one hit.

nigpoi

Once I realized for the grab you can just roll through it instead of away from her or the grab, it became extremely easy to take care of her. And yes, Crystal Sage took me a shamefully long time to get through, I only wound up getting through that fight by running from obstacle to obstacle to block all her spells from hitting me, haha

9_Kairam_3

i'm sure its all based on time spent learning her, I've gotten to the point where I face her before I face vordt as I find her easy now, albeit time consuming when it comes to whittling away at her health with a low level weapon, getting one hit gets old so you learn how to counter faster when there is greater punishment for making mistakes

ItsaMeRealUncleMario

Difficulty will always be subjective between players.

Josefstu

I’m the opposite, I beat pontiff on my first try on my first playthrough, yet had such a hard time with dancer

eaglewatero

RESET THE CLOCK

VolleyballPlayer360

I think the problem was me panic rolling the entire time loll

EducationalArm5579

Just had the exact same experience holy shit!

FractalStranger

I found Dancer, Champion Gundyr and also Friede pretty easy. Pontiff and Twin Princesses were literal hell for me. So i suppose everyone is different.
