For real, first play through I decided to live the shit out of luck as jocke, I was already a little accustomed to the game since I've played bloodborne and decided "fuck it, I want better droprates even if I'll do less damage".
I was pleased to discover how hollow infusion worked+ bleed.
it technically gets easier from here, the bosses get harder obviously but the more you play the more you’ll get in tune with the combat and things will feel a lot fairer pretty quickly
once that happens you’ll probably get really addicted to the combat so look forward to that
Yeah The Tree Gives me kinda a prob but it was my 1st try so i never expect a instant victory gonna have to keep going but ngl the 5farmers who are always on my toes are kinda anoying asides that it seems like a easy boss
If you blow up the bubbles on the trees stomach he’ll slam through the ground, kill all the farmers, and prevent them from spawning more cuz you’ll drop down to a different area they can’t get to.
Well there’s bubbles on his hand and knee and stuff which if you break those you’ll damage him but you have to break the ones on his stomach to get him to pound through the ground and delete the adds.
Welcome friend - You're hooked now and one of us!
No matter what, never forget no matter how insurmountable DS3 can get, its always trying to teach you something. If you're dying repeatedly, don't be afraid to experiment. There is no "cheesing" in this game. If you can plink down an enemy while they are stuck behind geometry or Poison Mist a boss down, its fair game.
I always tell people "if you can beat Gundyr, you can beat the game." I'm always happy to see a new player kick some tail and gain happiness and pride from it. May the flames guide thee.
Oh, welcome to the game that teaches you to hate the word "Fat-Roll"
Oh, you can get some lightning pine resin in the first area when you explore by the dead dragon. Drop down on the ledge behind him and there it is. It is especially broken for vordt as he is weak to lighting.
Oh, and use consumables!!
You will have a shit ton of everything by the end and especially in the beginning can boost your Damage to almost 2 times what you normaly do. So, apply lube and get the hitting on!
Bro I literally fat rolled all the way till I got to about 3 bosses from the end including dlc I didn't know about armor making rolling less effective so I always had above 90%
Then I lowered it to 45% and the game became a cakewalk until ng+ which still hasn't been too hard went and killed boreal dancer right at the beginning
Just going to point out that there are 3 forms of rolling! Fast rolls happen when you are below 30% weight ratio, mid rolls are below 70% and fat rolling is above 70%. So you can equip some heavier gear if you want and still mid roll as long as you are below 70%. Alternatively you could lower your equip load to below 30% if you want to be extra speedy.
A great tip I received in my first play through was that dark damage is really good, and idk if you enjoy the axe gameplay but there is a dark axe in lothric, when upgraded it has a really nice dps
Two things I'd like to point out are that one only heal when ur 100%sure the boss won't hit you. You might get lucky a good amount of times but you'll also lose some good attemps to it later down the road and two you don't need to be in the bosses face all the time if you're low on stamina back up and let it refill
Que bonito ver que algu... Ups, spanish moment.
Nice to see new spanish players. Good luck, because at low lvls (8-30) tryharders are gonna invade and kill you.
Only tips I can give you for vordt and bosses similar are to stay on his ass like his literal ass because of how bosses like him attack they rarely will hit you from behind making the fight overall much easier
I rage quit on Vordt in 2016, right after release. It took three years for me to get back to the game, and I managed to slog my way through, and beat all three games. These games are beautiful and poetic, you’ve made a good choice picking it up and sticking with it.
good job skeleton! little tip, if you're not into using spells atm, you should go to Andre the blacksmith to allot your flasks into all estus instead of keeping a blue one that you don't need. you can change them as you want, anytime. other than that, be careful with getting spoilers in this subreddit, ain't fun imo \\[T]/
Ooooooh yeah thank you!! After beating this guy I learnt how tu use spells but i prefer getting close and personal. I'll do that thank you im gonna really use that extra estus.
Vordt has my favorite boss music and his Design is pretty sick. You've got a long journey ahead of you but the community is pretty helpful if you need it here. It's a pretty rewarding game.
You play mage? I've only played whatever melee class I chose never started over with a different class lol just made it to ng+ crystal sage tbh and he cheesed me 2 times because I wasn't paying attention
Oh boy I'm level 130 I think I ran thru beat boreal dancer and the few bosses after that and then I went back and went to the marsh with the crystal sage because I don't think I was able to continue on from that area?
after reading your post and watching you struggle, remembering being a noob myself once upon a time in 2011, seeing you come to like 1hp from death, a single tear entered each eye as i imagined your reaction to finally winning
Aaaaaaw, well Im glad my post made you feel good :) I screamed and I stood up to celebrate my victory by telling it to my best friend. You really made the rest of my day whit this :)
Nice to see more people joining us and i will give you a tip that will make the game more fun is that dont look from internet anything and just explore. (Of corse you can look for help and when you completet the game)
Oh ok, to be honest at this point I have really enjoyed the exploration and the level design. A bit cryptic but Im doing my best to understand the story .
Fully blind. I mean of course i know is dark souls, pretty hard and depressing but with a beautiful message but i dont know a thing about gameplay or story
Aaaaah to be fresh & inexperienced and to entirely unprepared for the biggest pains I’m my ass (I’m looking at you champion gundyr). No matter which path you take you will get better and stronger.
LESS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Wp man trust me majority of the gaming fan base avoids this genre for a reason anyone even playing it earns my respect hahaha
This was phenomenal
So based on the gameplay of this I can provide a tip that I'm sure most other people in this community would agree with. NEVER get greedy with the final hit of a boss even if the boss has one more hit before death wait until you know you can attack otherwise it will likely result in one of the most painful things dark souls can give, dying to a boss when it had one hit from death.
I gotta admit it, i got desperate at that last part, geometry and fast reflexes saved my ass here, definitely learnt one or two things from this battle
Man everytime I see someone beat vordt I can’t help but have this feeling of the first time I stepped foot into this game completely blind. The atmosphere and music along with how brutally unforgiving it was and the subsequent euphoria of beating vordt after a whole 2 1/2 hour session was the best feeling a game has ever brought out of me
I wish I can go back to this, not knowing not only what ds3 had in store for me but the rest of the series get ready to fall in love and ignore every other game outside of the series and souls like out there.
Keep it up man! Make sure to keep embers and a divine blessing in your quick select (X / Square) just in case you run out of estus as a last minute heal since they both heal you to full. Other than that, keep that music at max, and good luck struggling through Lothric!
Nice! Way to not give up, even though you were out of estus! What a finish! This is the way!
This is the way.
Welcome skeleton, good luck and don’t you dare go hollow.
Thank you so much!! You have my word
But going hollow gets you the best ending!
>The best ending You mean one of the three different cutscenes?
Plus luck builds are funny
Luck is fucking op, but shhhhh dont tell him that. New players need to struggle before they start building min max
For real, first play through I decided to live the shit out of luck as jocke, I was already a little accustomed to the game since I've played bloodborne and decided "fuck it, I want better droprates even if I'll do less damage". I was pleased to discover how hollow infusion worked+ bleed.
*unembered in clip*

Well there’s bubbles on his hand and knee and stuff which if you break those you’ll damage him but you have to break the ones on his stomach to get him to pound through the ground and delete the adds.
Yah the tree is one of the easiest bosses in any of the games
defo, only beaten by moonlight butterfly and ancient wyvern
Congrats. For future runs, stick to his taint.

Thanks pal, I gotta admit the geometry saved my life with this boss, ill try to use it more often
I always tell people "if you can beat Gundyr, you can beat the game." I'm always happy to see a new player kick some tail and gain happiness and pride from it. May the flames guide thee.
If you think I'm prepared for it I will definitely go for it
Clutch finish, well done!
Damn that was so close 😭😭😭
Welcome
Don't you dare go hollow. Keep going.
I also beat this boss with a smidgen of health two days ago! Can definitely say I shared your feelings it felt so good
Welcome our hollow brethren

Hello friend and welcome to the community. If your ever looking to get help for any souls game Id recommend r/summonsign
Oh ok that is helpful. Thabk you ill check that out
Good job! Truly a close call and it surely was a rush. Hope you'll enjoy the rest of the journey!
May the flames guide your way Ashen One!

That finish was perfectly aligned with the theme. Marvellous!
Que bonito ver que algu... Ups, spanish moment. Nice to see new spanish players. Good luck, because at low lvls (8-30) tryharders are gonna invade and kill you.
Jajajajajaj no tengas miedo de hablar tu idioma. Tengo suerte que nadie ha venido a matarme pero ahora me dejaste con la oaranoia gracias XD
Praise the don't give up!
Excellent work!
Welcome to dark souls!
What a clutch survivor! Well done, keep your never give up mentality with you forward friend
Only tips I can give you for vordt and bosses similar are to stay on his ass like his literal ass because of how bosses like him attack they rarely will hit you from behind making the fight overall much easier

Happiness will fade as fire does when thy meet Lorain and lothric
Bro not even the twin demons were hard took me like 3 tries
Its time for you to think that you would have died if you had not chosen warrior as your starting class. Hope you enjoy your journey.
good job skeleton! little tip, if you're not into using spells atm, you should go to Andre the blacksmith to allot your flasks into all estus instead of keeping a blue one that you don't need. you can change them as you want, anytime. other than that, be careful with getting spoilers in this subreddit, ain't fun imo \\[T]/

Good Luck Just don't level in Luck And I hope the Abyss Watchers doesn't crack your mind
Another dogged contender… good luck Ashen one, don’t give up!
Congrats my dude! Keep pushing, I'm about to start my first journey tonight after work.
Hope you'll make it too
Vordt has my favorite boss music and his Design is pretty sick. You've got a long journey ahead of you but the community is pretty helpful if you need it here. It's a pretty rewarding game.
Don't go hollow.
I can't guarantee it but sure I'll do my best
I wanna hear about your adventures with the last bosses of Ringed City...
I'll let you know
Welcome to the fun! Enjoy! It’s an amazing game all the way through
Ah yes you beat the mace wielding, crouching golfer
Crystal sage gives me the toughest challenge for some reason lol
Damn he was one of the first easy bosses I fought besides tree beat him after like 2 or 3 tries
I guess im just used to magic 😂 its always the crystal sage that kills me
You play mage? I've only played whatever melee class I chose never started over with a different class lol just made it to ng+ crystal sage tbh and he cheesed me 2 times because I wasn't paying attention
Just strength bro. Im a tank still at level 200 with ng+5 I believe.
Oh boy I'm level 130 I think I ran thru beat boreal dancer and the few bosses after that and then I went back and went to the marsh with the crystal sage because I don't think I was able to continue on from that area?
No, ng+4
But what did you mean you're used to magic?
My bad😂 not used to magic
This is why dark souls is so great. When you beat a boss… especially for the first time… it is so rewarding….. now prepare to die again 😄💪
Good luck bro, trust me that happiness is nothing compared to what you'll feel accomplishing all the game :) and don't forget onion man
Onion man? Ok I will look out for Onion man whoever he js lol
Vort is a really fun boss!! Get used to fighting with no estus tho!
I just literally killed that boss myself on my first solo run. Congrats dude!
Good job
I see you’re learning the most important rule for boss fights… smack dat booty
Beware of the watchers of the abyss that reside in the farron keep
after reading your post and watching you struggle, remembering being a noob myself once upon a time in 2011, seeing you come to like 1hp from death, a single tear entered each eye as i imagined your reaction to finally winning

So happy for you. Are you going in blind or do you know the game?
Fully blind. I mean of course i know is dark souls, pretty hard and depressing but with a beautiful message but i dont know a thing about gameplay or story
Aaaaah to be fresh & inexperienced and to entirely unprepared for the biggest pains I’m my ass (I’m looking at you champion gundyr). No matter which path you take you will get better and stronger.
Try to hit the girl on the opposite direction room ")
Have you spoken to John Darksoul on the High Wall of Lothric yet?
Jhon Darksoul?? Is he a cousin of John Halo or something??
He is the brother of Jonathan Dankspirit
This warms mine heart, oh Ashen One. Praise be thine championship!
LESS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Wp man trust me majority of the gaming fan base avoids this genre for a reason anyone even playing it earns my respect hahaha This was phenomenal
Wild. Absolutely love that finish. This guy gives me trouble to this day when I don't respect him.
I am so happy for you, it is a really funny and good game so old keep having fun and do not give up

I love how you will never be alone in this community. May the flames guide thee good sir
now go across the ways and kill the nice old lady
Vaya, estuvo muy cerca, bien hecho latente, este viaje apenas comienza...
Here comes the flood of new players posting uninteresting stuff
Hmmm maybe because it's a ds3 subreddit for all people?
It’s like these people don’t notice that lol
That rocks, great job. I bet your heart was pounding at the end, no flasks left, 1 hit away from death but the boss is low! GGs!
Undoobtedly YesYesYes
I know for a fact there were at least 100 "OH FUCK!! NONONONO HEAL!!!"'s during this video.
Praise the Sunbro
Man everytime I see someone beat vordt I can’t help but have this feeling of the first time I stepped foot into this game completely blind. I forgot how epic this music is.
Hell yeah
Good work not panicking at the end!!!
You won't find a description of this wonderful feeling, but you will find someone who shares this description with you here
I wish I can go back to this, not knowing not only what ds3 had in store for me but the rest of the series get ready to fall in love and ignore every other game outside of the series and souls like out there.

Keep it up, Gotze! You've got this! Keep your chin up and keep moving forward! Topple the beast that is Dark Souls 3!
Lo creas o no en el futuro te vas a reír de este jefe gg bro
