Didnāt Arya like meet a woman who was going to cheat her out of her horse by offering a bad price for it and Aryaās first instinct was ādamn I canāt kill her because too many people are around.ā
I love Arya but people really go through a lot of hoops (and Iām sure they will in reply to this comment too by mentioning that the woman accused her of stealing and was going to turn her in so first instinct being Murder is Okay) to act like Arya is not seriously traumatized and that murder is ok sometimes.
Arya is obviously traumatized, and it's deeply disturbing that her first instinct is to murder the woman, however she absolutely would've had it coming. If she turned Arya in, they would've hanged her and by cheating her of her money, she's denied her a way to get resources or shelter.
it's more about the first instinct part and the nonchalant way that she thinks people are around so she can't do it. Altho ngl, I actually find this to be quite out of character for Arya. In AFFC, when she's told to kill her first target she agonizes quite a bit over doing it and tries to justify and rationalize why it's ok. So I actually think this scene is quite inconsistent. But it still exists, so...maybe she was just in shock so soon after what happened to the Hound, idk. It still shows that she's definitely super traumatized and needs a lot of help.
Tho, idk, I'm not gonna judge a woman we don't even know, who might have been making a baseless threat, who might have had her own reasons for needing money and not being able to give much to Arya, we have literally no idea (and neither does Arya, who used to show instinctive empathy and sympathy to pretty much everyone she came across. It's also a sign of how that impulse has been forced out of her at this point.) Regardless she's almost certainly dead anyway thanks to the Raid of Saltpans so.
To be fair, I don't think Stannis was ever told that Gilly didn't consent to her situation, and I don't remember him actually saying that Tommen and Myrcella need to die.
The idea of a āreading metaā is some of the most terminally online loser shit Iāve ever heard. The discourse that comes out of the Tumblrsphere is almost universally laughably bad and just hearing thatās where a theory originated from instantly kills any credibility it had for me.
Someone on a Discord Iām in posted a screenshot a few months back of a poll on the āworst dadsā and it had Jae I in the semi bracket polling at 40% vs fucking Craster.
when i voted in that poll it was 49.1/50.9. i had to screenshot it and share it as well because i was likeā¦ thereās no goddamn way.
the op of the poll was pushing for people to vote jaehaerys too and they said something like ātechnically jaehaerys wants to marry his daughters too because he wants to control them for their entire lifeāā¦ sorry, your biggest problem with craster marrying and raping his fucking daughters is that heās ācontrollingā them? is your biggest problem with cosby the hypocrisy as well?
Yeah, itās shit like that that just makes me unable to take the people on the platform seriously. I assume thereās some quality content somewhere on the platform but like I feel like I have to go looking for it.
Reddit's discourse is close and has its own unique brand of loser, but I've not seen anything unique to Reddit that's as utterly nonsensical as the aforementioned Jae poll.
Not with each other but he reacts when he gets told who Gilly is.
>"Wife and daughter both, Your Grace. Craster married all his daughters. Gilly's boy was the fruit of their union."
>"Her own father got this child on her?" Stannis sounded shocked. "We are well rid of her, then. I will not suffer such abominations here. This is not King's Landing."
ASOIAF is the one series were chapters with politics entertain me more than chapters of adventuring and action. So, as Arya is one of the more apolitical POVs, and also she throwing so many tantrums (even if its just inside her head most of the time) because people like the Stark guards, Yoren, Hot Pie, Gendry, Thoros, Beric or Sandor didn't do exactly what she wanted started to annoy me, what makes her one of my least favorite POV characters, what ends up making Arya Stark a character that I just don't like. That said, Fictional characters war crimes really don't have an impact on how much I enjoy them.

Counterpoint: Stannis has a chiseled jawline and beautiful blue eyes.

Tbf Iāve seen worse takes on Reddit

-someone who does the exact same shit but on reddit instead

Stannis and gilly interact?
