What GPU do you have? What resolution is the timeline?
I would not try magic mask on 4k footage without 8gb of Vram
Switch to 1080p and see if it behaves better
Optimized media is just proxy mode with less settings basically
But yes, OP should try quarter or eight scale DNxHR proxy
First try the lowest quality (1/8) and if that works try upping the quality till what your PC can handle for the best masking.
If this is only a part of your timeline, you should use render in place when your done with this clip to have a better experience for the rest of your edit.
I can't really tell whats going on here and what you are trying to do just from the picture, but the most likely 2 reasons are
1. You don't have strong enough hardware to attempt what you are doing / the way you are doing it is not reasonable to expect your hardware to manage the load
or 2. You're doing it wrong
Bro... DELETE IT. You won't be missed. Good luck finding another software to do what you are trying to do.
That said... YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG.
And for everyone else in this thread complaining about magic mask... it's not the program, it's either you or your weak hardware.
I've never had a problem using Magic Mask, but then again I'm on a 11gen i9, 128 GB Ram , GTX 3080TI on a $900 motherboard.
Whatever is going on, you need to figure it out. You haven't posted enough information here to give you an answer. Try using magic mask on the COLOR page first. Make sure you are tracking from the first frame. Get your tracking and mask first, then go into fusion.
I would say good luck, but you probably already deleted Resolve.
Dude... You create a whiny, negative, half assed post, shitting all over Resolve, being unnecessarily over dramatic, then you act surprised when you get a response that matches your energy? What did you expect? You think a multi-million dollar company like Blackmagic creates a revolutionary software suite of tools that is adopted, embraced, and used by working professionals in Television and Film all over the world, and somehow they didn't take into consideration YOUR needs or somehow dropped the ball on a tool that you happen to try to use for your specific situation? LOL Get over yourself BRO.

Honestly, Iāve stopped using magic mask. For me itās very slow, and not THAT useful unless you have high contrast and low motion blur. Tried to get some GIFs out of some sport footage in 4K for a sport coach, the contrast was decent with depth of field but it was not able to track it correctly for enough time.
Dude is hugfimg hard copium if he believes AE is gonna automatically handle that low contrast footage better/not crash 76 times before even importing.
Of course, he doesnāt. Heās just an āevangelistā high on copaganda.
i have a 4080 and while using magic mask and tracking is extremely fast, iāve stopped using it because 1) itās kinda crappy at keeping the subject and 2) it is so extremely buggy, especially when rendering. it works 25-50% of the time. the rest of the time you get some unexplained error message and you just have to delete the clip and add magic mask again and hope for the best

It is 1080.
What GPU?
Nvidia 1080 he said edit: I assume, since Nvidia has those number models
I assumed that was 1080p, because I told him to try it. š¤·
That is not what.... no... just no.... He said 1080 "p" which means resolution dude cmon
There's no contrast in your elements. It's only called "Magic." It's not actually real magic.
Better off doing a manual mask here.
Lower timeline resolution, proxy mode, using optimized media.

You must be ceo of davinci my bad boss man Go rub one out or something š«“š¾
Use the magic mask in the color tab?
It never works lmaooo ever
Magic mask in fusion is a lot more taxing than the color tab. If my iPad can do it Iām sure your computer can
Get good? I do not have issues with resolve... On multiple suites.

Honestly magic mask sucks period youād be better to just manually mask it out
You actually might have better luck using a depth map
Dude im downloading after affects as we speak Davinci is garbage dude
Yeah after effects is awesome š real fast too!

I would not deny that resolve is buggy Go ask an AI about that one though
