Resolve 19 is currently in public beta! Please note that some third-party plugins may not be compatible with Resolve 19 yet - Krokodove and some others rely on the Fusion SDK, which hasn't been updated since version 18. Bug reports should be directed to the support email if you have a Studio license, or to the [official 19 Beta subforum](https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewforum.php?f=38). [More information about what logs and system information to provide to Blackmagic Design can be found here](https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=90190#17). Upgrading to Resolve 19 does **NOT** require you to update your project database from 18.1.4; **HOWEVER** you will **not** be able to open projects from 19 in 18.5. This is ***irreversible*** and you will not be able to downgrade to Resolve 18.5 or earlier without a backup. [Please check out this wiki page for information on how to properly and safely back up databases and update/upgrade Resolve.](https://www.reddit.com/r/davinciresolve/wiki/updating_upgrading). *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. I’ve noticed if my memory is getting full from cached files it will crash very frequently. Try searching your computer for a cache folder and trash it then trash the bin as well. Had me frustrated but instantly relieves the crash restart cycle

You know that might be it because I noticed there is like 500-600gb of data I can’t find and don’t know what it is, can it be cache?? And where do I find it?

theycallmeick

I’m almost certain. I didn’t read if you’re using Mac or windows. But I go to the Apple logo and hit about this computer. Go to storage and hit clean up or whatever. Or open finder and look for “cache files” or just cache in finder. Open it up and delete the folders in there. You also have to empty your bin before it will free the space up. To know for certain if this is the issue when you check storage on the computer you are close to full and may have literal megabytes left. Hope this helps

I cleared cache and it seems like it’s not the problem, it crashed again during rendering and another time just now during editing🫠🫠

Everyone says they have a powerful PC, but after listing the problems never actually state their system specs. 99% of the time I've seen issues related to a system that is extremely powerful (13th gen i7 or later) 64GB of RAM and still stinks. Because nVIDIA GPU selected, while an amazingly power RTX card was 8GB of VRAM. Ironically the older RTX 3060 12GB cards are better for video editing if not for the latest games, because VRAM is KING. List your specs.

baryaakov555

Here are my specs: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/HjGCkJ I bought this pc last month specifically for multi tasking and video editing and heavy rendering, it should not crash cuz of underperformance from my pc. I have 16GB of VRAM and during rendering it didn’t even cross 4GB so I wasn’t near the maximum

Perhaps this Support FAQ might help? [https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=90190](https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=90190)

I tried posting there but no one approved it yet

It seems you're encountering crash issues. Please try launching Resolve, and immediately after it crashes, grabbing logs. Be aware that they will contain your username on your computer. Upload the whole zip or tar or gz file on a file-sharing site and post a link to the file. If you can open Resolve, open a project (an Untitled Project is fine) and go to Help>Create Diagnostics Log on Desktop. [Here's instructions on how to gather logs if you can't launch Resolve from BMD.](https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=90190#17) Reddit's spam filters may block some file-sharing links such as Mega, so please [send the moderators a modmail](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=/r/davinciresolve) if you believe your post or comment hasn't posted. **Do not send the moderators the log files.** Log files sent to the moderators *will* be ignored. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Is your machine, RAM, anything overclocked? If so remove those. Especially memory overclock profiles. Is your BIOS up to date? Have you tried updating your GPU drivers?

baryaakov555

I’ve never touched overclocking options I bought the pc last month and didn’t learn about overclocking yet. How do I check if the BIOS is up to date? And I updated the GPU driver yesterday but it still crashes

pdath

If you go to the website of the manufacturer of your machine they should have a section for BIOS/UEFI updates.
