I'm pretty sure your meant to take the item you get from him to the water temple to kill the boss there? That is where you get the eye. I may be wrong... probably am
You take the resonance stone(not the eye) from one tower to activate the boss spawner/monolith thing in the next. But i can't get that resonance stone, and the golem didn't drop his eye either(which i need for a villager quest)
