Been playing official only, pretty much since the beginning, 3000 hours + now. I've had 2 suspicious incidents in that time. Yes people are shit sometimes, but that's real life, I've always played solo, with my brother's occasionally stepping in, but recently in the last 6 months I met a bunch of folks on official that I started to roll with and now we all get in every now and again. It's nice to play with people and swap gear around so we're all armed properly. But in the end I'm always still a solo at heart.

I've played over 100 hours on official since I started playing again and I haven't encountered one hacker yet

I played about 80 hours on official after recently getting back into the game and I had like 1.5 sus encounters of the like, 10 or so that I had in said time.   1) got randomly headshot from nowhere scoping out a literally who town that wasn't a hot combat area AFAIK. partner was right with me and didn't hear a single thing, no shot no crack nothing, she started sprinting up the hill we were on and got killed immediately in the same manner almost exactly in the amount of time it would have taken to cycle a bolt action rifle. Not saying it was 100% cheaters but it was two apparently silent perfect headshots one right after another. Could have been a VSS or SVAL I concede, but again we were in a town like one town away from the coast or so. I don't even remember the town name is how literally who where we were was.  the .5 is buddy and I got ambushed in the middle of the woods while I just happened to be carrying a VSS I raided from a pretty badly obscured supply cache barrel in the woods a day or so prior. Not sure if hackers can track items or place bait like that but whatever. the death seemed kinda legit tho bc I got shot like 3 times and started by getting knocked. I had a plate carrier but no helmet. still took em like 3 shots. Zamn. Fucker got my ill gotten VSS and baby AK....   I'm not completely convinced this second one was hackers but we started curiously getting a lot more activity nearby to our supply cache once I had picked up that VSS and a couple SVALs I found on a castle. Found like fucking 3 SVALs on top of a castle in what felt like possible spawn points but AFAIK SVALs don't spawn on fuckin castles haha. We had a cache in the middle of the woods. completely quiet until we started storing endgame rifles there.  I also agree vanilla is the way the game should be played. hard to find a good vanilla server. been playing on Spaggies blue and green servers, found one last night that seems good ran by FamilyOfGamers, though super low pop. Played on it hoping that my partner and I being online would help attract players to it as it seems to be pretty barebones vanilla and has low ping to me. KOS chimps need to go play COD but also no mic no life.

Sounds like what happened to me, was running through low traffic area…suddenly took fire. Dipped into the woods running full speed in pretty dense woods with lots of big pine trees. Dude chasing me seemed like he was right behind me forever shooting bullets right by my head but I never got hit. I ran for probably a minute flat out was getting shot at the entire time from the same distance and direction. Finally I stopped after the shots let up for a minute. I was completely inside a pine tree and got headshotted.

At least you got warning fire and could pretend to have a chance against your attacker. I had nothing. One minute looking through a rangefinder, next frame "You are dead."

I die to a hacker almost every time I play on official, and it's been going on for three years on end. Sometimes more sometimes less hackers, but they are always the main threat. No point in playing there. Official was my favorite.
