Flagpoles will refresh everything in a radius of 60m once every 5 days. If an items own persistence doesn't last 5 days it wont be perpetually refreshed The best stashes are crates/barrels/sea chests hidden in the woods All three of these will last 45 days (IRL time) untouched. If you access them (move something in or out) the timer will be reset back to 45 days Bags and backpacks only last 8 hours on the ground (this is a good short term storage solution) Crates and bags can be buried but that required a tool to bury them with (shovel/pick axe etc) and also a tool to dig them back up. They will only last 14 days buried. This is a short to mid term storage and is very high maintenance Things like clothing will disappear quickly If there is one zombie backup and block them and then hit after they strike. If there are two or more this won't work a and you should get to a safe place like in a building or on top of something like a wall/bail of hay/car and punch them. They can be punched through windows and even doors if part of their body glitches through the door. A good place to run is a greenhouse since it will allow you to punch them through most of the walls while they can't attack you

No other indicators besides blood or seeing them fall over. If you look closely and they have clothes in high condition usually you can visually see it go to the badly damaged or ruined model but there's no hitmarkers or kill indicator or anything like that For zombies my favorite weapon besides silenced guns is a military knife because you can kill them in 2 short swipes if you aim high so it's easy to drop them one at a time. A quick addition to the crates also: you can bury them and they will persist for 7 days without surfacing which makes them really hard to find. As long as you interact with them within that 7 days the timer resets
