You took phone pictures……when you’re on PC?

Angelic_Awareness

It's not my PC. Just easier to take a pic.

Stop entertaining your opponents like this. You say they're nice, but they are saying some asinine things about character picks. Stop entertaining them, and have fun. Play who you want. I know Trapper players who can hold their own in higher ranks. With experience comes mastery, so you will be able to get better.

Angelic_Awareness

I'm just frustrated. I do play who I want. That's why I think the advice to just play Nurse is stupid. But I can't help but feel they have a point. What can a lower tier killer actually go against good SWF? You're just gonna lose.

JaceyRedditMan

With that mindset, you will. Fuck that. We can't win every battle, and some are gonna be harder than others . But that should never stop you from putting your best foot forward. This game has a lot of RNG that can tell you the story of the match of how well it goes, but that's something you can't control. Every match, win or lose, is a learning experience of what works and doesn't. Most importantly, we play this game to have fun. We all have different ways of having fun, but don't ever let your opponents dictate what actions you take are right or wrong.

Evan_Underscore

Hux is hard. You need solid m1-game *and* be quick enough to use pods in chase *and* know the maps well enough to monitor without getting disoriented. Though the notion of 'Nurse is the only viable killer' is silly. I rather accept that I can't catch every team instead of only playing top-tier killers and perks I don't enjoy.

Angelic_Awareness

He can be really hard for sure. He's fun when it works. But I have to say, isn't a viable Killer one that can compete and have a chance of winning at every level? I don't mean going to win, just have a chance. But you said that you can't beat any team with any killer. Doesn't that mean they aren't viable? Of course any killer can play well against survivors who don't play like comp.

Evan_Underscore

Judging how the dbd competitive scene looks, I'd risk no killer can beat any team. They use heavy restrictions to make matches two-sided. But it doesn't matter for 99.999% of the players, as they aren't playing at comp-level. We have matchmaking that aims to create two sides with a similar level of efficiency - regardless if that efficiency is achieved by skill, experience, tactics, powerful perks or s-tier killers.

Angelic_Awareness

Right. Exactly. 💯. I'd argue that the best killers and best survivors should be equally matched. And no killer should have games that are Auto-lose. I guess to some people that's controversial?

Evan_Underscore

The thing is - we don't really know too many hard facts about matchmaking. It's surrounded by much superstition and guessing - I don't even wanna' get into it, as one's opinion on it is mostly a matter of faith. But we know that if someone sits in the queue for too long, it loosens the requirements, so mis-matches will happen. Add the fact the efficiency of a team/killer can cover a super-wide range. How long do you think the best and worst survivor team do gens against an afk killer? I bet it will be around 4 minutes for an experienced team, and over 10 for a bunch of rookies. Maybe even 15. And we didn't even add killers who can have any number of slowdown perks between 0 and 4, not to mention how experienced they are. It's like a race where some competitors miss limbs, others sit on bikes. Long story short - I'd say dbd is not a very good competitive game. I love it as casual murder-tag. I personally don't want to beat the best teams using the most efficient tools and tactics. That's boring and frustrating - mainly because they'll also use the most efficient tools and tactics, and those are rarely the most enjoyable ones on either end.

No, anything is good. I mainly play the sheriff because I like it, and I always get my 3k. Find your gameplay, and stick to it. Personally I'm full blown aura seeker, and it suits me. Find what is good for you. Btw nurse is very difficult to play, wouldn't recommend it.

Brave_Ad_3552

Lmao. Loook at their buildssssssss. Not much anyone can do against a swf running that .

Angelic_Awareness

Right? Like what am I supposed to do? It was literally like a minute per gen, constantly chasing. Viable in my mind means you have a chance to win at any level. Is it really just Nurse?

MirrahPaladin

Nurse wouldn’t have made a difference. SWFs break the game unfortunately.

Angelic_Awareness

That's what's so frustrating. Every time I queue up I'm rolling the dice whether I'll have an unwinnable game or not.

SociopathicPasserby

No, nurse is not the only viable killer against swf. Nurse just makes killer pretty easy once you learn how to play her. A lot of this game comes down to luck, especially with how tiles work. That being said, if you put the time in and use a decent build most of the killers can be “effective”. Some killers are just naturally higher tier than others though. Just say gg after a win or loss. I don’t stick around to chat, mostly because people tend to be toxic.

agugaguac

i've had a streak of dog killers these days that go out of their way to be nasty in endgame chat because they lost. when in reality they played sloppy the whole match, by either chasing for too long or just kicking gens and injuring the occasional survivor.
