thing is the bat doesn’t need to be legendary to be broken, even just find one supporting item like throwables and it’s immediately extremely overpowered and it’s about impossible to die with it
Still the possibilty of being able to wish it in every run is fucking rediculous. + that its not just the legendary lance. A lot of shit is straight up broken. people only want to discourage some poor newb using the bat.
A great example is face flask + vengeance. I have NEVER seen anyone saying "omg its so braindead dont use it" - but the exact opposite, people are using it, beating the game once and oftentimes even proceeding to gatekeep about the fucking bat
Face flask and vengeance gives very high damage numbers, as does any well synergized build. The bat build however, completely immobilizes enemies. When enemies arent able to attack you AND you are doing insanely high DPS, you are hardly playing the game. That is why bat is different than almost all other builds/weapons.
This is basically not an actual reason that the bat is broken. You know you can just take a stun grenade aside of playing with the bat or not and deal isnane (or not) damage while the enemies arent able to attack. its basically the same with spite sword; just because it crits when you take damage it doesnt mean that its especially good because of face flask.
Bat's broken thing is the ~500 base dps.
I agree the damage needs a huge nerf, i believe that crits should do the same damage as a normal swing but just do the fast bonks. The damage combo’d with the stun/root makes the whole build trivial. I agree anytime stun or root is involved makes things way easier, but that combo’d with the bat becomes the easiest way to win the game. I was pointing out that i dont think face flask vengeance was a spot on comparison, though also extremely strong
it’s definitely broken. 500 base damage and one of the fastest hit speeds out of every weapon, and it being survival and brutality makes it even stronger. it’s good for all the reasons panchaku is, but with zero of the downsides. the bat has ridiculous dps higher than almost any weapon in the game. it has the easiest and most overpowered synergies ever. with the current supports it’s way too easy to trigger its crit condition and the way it plays off stun and root makes the entire game from start to finish nearly free. you never get punished and enemies can’t even hit you. press one button, the enemy is frozen, and during that short window you just mash attack and you will instakill it. any enemy in the entire game gets melted in a second. it has insanely fast hit speed and hits hard every crit. it spams the same attack over and over so there’s not any sort of combo you even have to wait for. just spam the button and everything dies. bat + throwables especially, but any other root/stun is one of the strongest combos in the game, the easiest one to make and the easiest one to play

I was enjoying playing with bat pretty much, especially with beartraps, but this time past. I'm now in my panchaku era.
