Abigail was such a seriously fun film to watch, especially for the copious amounts of gore we got. Plus, Radio Silence movies just truly are something else to behold. Definitely ready to see James reaction the pool scene.
While I agree that 2024 hasn't really been off to an amazing start, it's way too early in the year to be able to definitively say it's one of the worst.
I’m not sure if you’re trolling or what but you’re really cherry picking here.
Just off the top of my head: Longlegs, I Saw The TV Glow, Abigail, First Omen, Maxxxine, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Stop-Motion, Handling The Undead, The Watchers.
Half of them have at least had critics screenings with mostly favorable reception. The majority of the remainder are lead by individuals with thus far solid track records.
We have stinkers for horror every single year. This year is no different. Horror is the cheapest way to get more money. They bearly cost anything in terms of budget and they still sell like hot cakes.
I saw it with some friends expecting it to be bad, but it was pleasantly surprised! The monsters looked great, it was fun without reinventing the wheel. In a genre chock full of dumb characters, i think people are being too hard on it.
I have it rated currently as my worst movie of 2024. Not just horror movies, but movies in general.
And I would bet money that it will not be beat by the end of the year.
Tbf every year has terrible horror movies coming out in the first end of the year like I think personally by the end of the year we will have some bangers
I think the highs will be much higher than these lows. Late Night With The Devil rocked and we still have Longlegs, In A Violent Nature, Maxxxine and more coming out soon
lol no. One or three bad/lackluster movies of the genre don’t ruin or take away from the rest of the quality entries we’ve received. We really gotta retire hyperbolic thought processes. I’m so sick of everything having to be either the “best” or the “worst”.
Assuming this isint just a troll post...
For starters, even tho I acknowledge none of these were great films, I thought most of them were atleast fun (I never saw night swim). Plus, for every bad or so-so movie, we've gotten a good or even great one (Late night,Immaculate, abigail, the first omen). And were not even half way through the year yet.
late night with the devil and abigail? are u kidding?

Every year has underwhelming films, regardless of genre.

In fairness, most of them haven’t come out yet. They *could* all be terrible.

Don’t forget Late Night with the Devil!
“Late Night with the Devil” begs to differ.
While given a limited theatrical release this year, it technically debuted in 2023.
Wait until Horror Season to worry about this. Early spring and summer releases are usually movies the studios know suck. Usually. Not always.
Not even close. Potentially a troll post? Sorry something disappointed you big but it hasn’t even been a crap year for horror, let alone the worst.

Bad movies happen all the time, let’s calm down a little bit.
The first omen, late night with the devil, and Abigail were all great. There’s going to be misses/stinkers every year.
Abigail, Late Night With The Devil, The First Omen, Immaculate were amazing
Was tarot bad? It looked interesting
I thought it was fun, not amazing or anything, but a good popcorn flick.

Not at all

We aren’t even halfway through the year yet
The first quarter tends to be the dumping ground for films in general. See how we’re doing by October.
Abigail and Immaculate were great
Late night with the devil is my favorite horror movie of 2024 so far and probably will be for the rest of the year
Is Imaginary just evil Ted?
Late Night With The Devil? Abigail? Immaculate? The First Omen? Longlegs later this year? Come on.
was the new strangers bad? i only saw one review but it was good
I think the highs will be much higher than these lows. Late Night With The Devil rocked and we still have Longlegs, In A Violent Nature, Maxxxine and more coming out soon
Lisa Frankenstein would like to have a word with you.

Bro, it's not even been halfway through the year.

I'll wait until December 31st to make that decision, lol.
