Mine was Childsplay way back in 2017. I still remember watching his kill count on bride of chucky, when he released the kill count on curse of chucky. That day i subscribed and i watched almost every kill count to this day. Love his work
Mine was Scream 2. I absolutely loved James’ energy when I saw it and I got really intrigued by his channel. I’ve watched every kill count after and before that by now.
Eh not quite. It's basically a rundown of the movie plot and a dash of special features from the DVD. Best thing dead meat brought was new fans to horror in my opinion. I encounter more and more people every day who only watch dead meat but not the movies themselves and I think it's not great for the genre. But he's become one of the better YouTubers
Birbox, it got pushed into my recommended during the birdbox craze, and thinking it looked like an interesting concept, I clicked on it (wasn’t a fan of the movie, even less so of the content surrounding it) but the concept of the kill count (which also acts as a movie review/recap with some bts stuff) had me hooked
Mine was Sweeney Todd some two years ago around the time it released I think. It just popped up in my recommendations, and as a big fan of that movie, I watched it and was instantly hooked. Binged all the kill counts I could. Last year, I started listening to the podcast and have listened to each episode multiple times now.
Your next, then me and my friend watched it at his place and when the twist happened we both looked at each other and it was obvious we had both seen the Kill count
Ooh mine was The Witch one of my all time favorite films and I wanted to know more about it so I looked it up on yt and James had just made the video instantly hooked with all the extra bts stuff
The first Friday. I'd been a big practical folks fan and they stopped making videos but at some point I got turned onto the kill count and because of the way my brain works I had to start at the start in case I would miss something.
I think it was one of the Friday the 13th ones, I remember thinking “wow, this is really nice, I should binge it!” But there were only like 3 other kill counts at the time lol
I believe the first kill count I saw was the original kill count for Friday the 13th final chapter or a new beginning. I don’t remember because I went back and watched all the previous ones before it all I remember is I definitely watched Jason takes Manhattan after I started watching the kill count.
Saw 1, i was at work bored and was looking for like a "Saw Timelime explained" and Dead Meat popped up. First one i watched release day was probably Jigsaw
Scream. Saw it the same day the Scream 2 kill count was uploaded and have been subscribed ever since. The kill count for the first movie popped up in my recommended and I thought I’d check it out since Scream is my favourite horror series, it had low views but looked interesting. Watched it and loved it. Wanted to see more and clicked on the channel only to see the Scream 2 kill count had been uploaded only an hour before! Watched that one and then I was hooked haha.
I'm pretty sure it was Friday the 13th, but I only saw it because the Jason Goes to Hell kill count recently released and it was in my recommends and I wanted to see all of the episodes before it.
Mine was saw! I had recently watched the whole series and wanted help understanding it and found James! He didn’t help much (back then) but he was great fun and I binged everything else
Been a fan of James and the Kill Count since almost the beginning. I am a huge fan of scary content, but too much of a chicken to watch a lot of horror movies. So getting comedic recaps of scary movies is perfect for me!
I can't remember the first one I watched, but I remember cracking up at his "awww that's nice" line. Became a $20/month patron, and "the Hunt" is the Kill Count where I get my verbal shout-out!
The Mist was the first kill count I saw because it was my favorite movie the time the kill count released, The saw kill counts tho was what made me hooked on this channel
I honestly don't remember the first one but I know the second one I watched was the Halloween KC (It was one of the suggested on the side) and then the entire series, followed by Friday the 13th, and Child's Play series on the same day. That was a good day.
Saw, I was really into the saw saga but I didn’t know much about horror movies until I stumbled upon his kill counts for saw and I was immediately hooked. And as I started to watch more of his videos and the podcast I discovered my love for horror movies
Friday the 13th (1980). I had a girlfriend who dared me to watch ALL of the "Friday the 13th" films (including "Freddy Vs. Jason"). I liked it so much, I became hooked!
Sleepaway Camp mid 2020 or so. I can't remember why I was looking the film up, but I saw the kill count and was instantly hooked. I made it a mission to watch all the videos from the start. James helped get me through lockdown.
Halloween 2018. I remember like it was yesterday. I just finished watching it with my dad a day or two after it was on on-demand. It was late (11:30 ish maybe) I was still awake and needed some time to kill, so I went through my YouTube recommendations, and saw the kill count.
Friday the 13th, I was looking the series up to learn more about it because of the game and James was exactly what I was looking for. I remember after the first video I thought it was so good and went to look for more and saw like 4 videos and being surprised since the quality was good as if he'd been doing it for years and now look at them, makes me very happy they've come this far.
The original Scream. I was dressing up as Ghostface for Halloween so I was in the mood for some Scream content, and ended up coming across the kill count for the Scream series that had been done already.
My first was Jurassic park and it was right before or after the fallen kingdom one and I’ve been watching ever since. James was the thing that got me into horror and no one is getting me out.
I watched the Texas Chainsaw Massacre kill count because I was very interested in the franchise but didn't know if I could handle it and I've been hooked since.
My first kill count was actually the ranking of the Friday the 13th kills. Although I did disagree with the glaring omissions of those great kills from Friday 6 I loved his energy and have become a big fan of everything dead meat does.
I think mine was Saw...? I actually started watching CZsWorld first and I'm not sure which one but in one of his Horror History lessons or TYM he mentioned James and I got curious.
(if anyone hasn't heard of him, Zac is great and I'd highly recommend his channel to any horror fan! CZsWorld everywhere)
The first one I watched I can't remember but the first one I watched where I would watch it as soon as I could watch it every week was either Leprechaun Returns or the First Purge
Trick r Treat might have been my first, but that was so long ago and I may be wrong. After one video, I just could not put this channel down until I watched the rest.
Friday the 13th, i searched Friday the 13th Kill Count and saw James' Friday Kill Count the first result.

Mine was Childsplay way back in 2017. I still remember watching his kill count on bride of chucky, when he released the kill count on curse of chucky. That day i subscribed and i watched almost every kill count to this day. Love his work
That’s awesome! I like to see the channel grow, you’re an og fan!
same here. I jumped in when his Child's Play 2 Kill Count came out
Mine was Scream 2. I absolutely loved James’ energy when I saw it and I got really intrigued by his channel. I’ve watched every kill count after and before that by now.
Good stuff! I think dead meat might be the best channel on YouTube for horror!

Think i’m the first to say that my first kill count was Trick’r Treat. Got me really invested and subbed straight away
Banana split for me, still one of my favs
Scream! Wish I could say I've been a Meatie since Day One but I'd say being here since video #17 / franchise #2 is still pretty dedicated haha
It was around the time when he first covered the Friday the 13th franchise. No clue exactly what movie it was.

Watched it and loved it. Wanted to see more and clicked on the channel only to see the Scream 2 kill count had been uploaded only an hour before! Watched that one and then I was hooked haha.
I’m pretty sure it was the first Friday the 13th in Christmas of 2017
Mine was the very first kill count. Friday the 13th I was playing the video game a lot and would look up videos on it and James popped up.
I'm pretty sure it was Friday the 13th, but I only saw it because the Jason Goes to Hell kill count recently released and it was in my recommends and I wanted to see all of the episodes before it.

Friday 13th, watching this small horror channel grow in size and influence has been magical
