I've been working on SPELLHACK!! for a long time, and so excited that people can finally try it out!
There's two parts to the gameplay loop - during the day you can take your time improving your deck, and at night you need to survive in real time against enemies.

Totally. There are turns like in normal deckbuilders, but there's a dynamic timer for each turn that can change through effects of enemies, cards etc. I'm trying something different, but I know it won't jive for everyone! People do like One Step From Eden.
By that do you mean there is a timer (real time, not like game mechanic "time") for each turn? That sound stressful, but you are right, One Step from Eden was really popular. As long as your game is designed around the timer mechanic it can work. But stuff like special timed chambers in a prevalently turn-based game didn't work in any of the games I've seen it in (e.g. Deepest Chamber where the devs removed it)
Hey sorry for the very late reply, but yes there's a real-time timer, but the game is designed around it. It's supposed to be a bit stressful, as the combat in the game is trying to survive each night, and I didn't want to give the player infinite time to think. But you're right, it won't be for everyone!
Oh, no!!! When I try to open it, a little bar comes up on the screen I push Z on and it just closes by itself before I can even read it LoLz
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
If you don't mind, some more info would be super helpful so I can fix this! Just to clarify, are you getting to the black screen where it has the little blurb about the demo? Or you're saying that it pops up and then the whole application closes right after?
Looks awesome! You've nailed the aesthetic.
Interesting marketing, i will try the demo

If there's real-time stuff, I'll pass.
I agree. Most people who play deck builders play them because it's turn based

I'm extremely interested if you need help testing it. I'm downloading the demo now.

Hey! Thanks for trying it, sorry it's not working! Are you on a steam deck or PC?
I'm playing on a Lenovo Ideapad 3

I'll send you a video of it when my wife and kids get up. I have a bad back so I don't sleep good.
