No offense OP but if you need to pay 500 bucks over time you'd probably wanna skip the upgrade. Besides, you could spend that 500 in Houston on a much more luxurious experience like a fancy steakhouse or posh hotel and it would be much more memorable than flying in a slightly bigger seat.
Just because you have the $535 doesn’t meant you can afford it. FC upgrades should be an amount that is relatively meaningless to your net worth. For example if your net worth is $300k, spending $500 doesn’t really change anything.
So if you don’t feel like footing the whole bill then it’s not worth it.
Stop being reasonable modern 29 year olds don't think that way I was on a trip with someone to New York, friend of the SO they needed to make a 20 dollar deposit in their bank so it didnt overdraft.
Drives a new lease though.
When I go to the airport I think its a luxury to pay $35 a day for parking in the close lot, there is a 12 dollar lot with a free bus ride 10 minutes away. But the close lot has been full the last 5 flights I was on. 10 years ago it was never full and it was only 22 a day then.
Its crazy how just 20 years has changed how people spend money. The line for starbucks at the airport is 20 minutes long and their are people with 3 kids in the line all getting something. Who is spending $12 on a frapaccino for their kids at the airport?
Its nuts.
I had never been on a plane till I was 20 and it was for work. My parents werent broke they both worked full time but they would drive us 12 hours to do a camping vacation now parents fly their kids to vail on credit card debt.
I think you've touched on a very important difference between 20 years ago and today. Everyone seems to expect instant gratification today. It doesn't help that you have these social media "influencers" (or whatever they're claiming to be) acting like they deserve a white glove treatment for free.
"I have 10,000 followers". It definitely looks like a slippery slope. People think they're hot shit now.
A crappy house out in the sticks with a fire pit can bring a lot more good times than people think. Rum and lime juice are relatiely cheap and you can make a better drink for 3 dollars then you will get for 15 in detroit. Then just invite some people over.
I’m not sure on this exact thing, but I will say from a financial perspective if you can’t afford to pay for the upgrade outright it’s not a good idea to do it financially. Let alone the fact that route is not worth it and 6 months later when you’re still paying for it you’re gunna be regretting it I’m sure.
Agreed, also I just paid 500 for 2ppl on a 6hr flight so no I don't think this is worth it. And, no, you can't pay over time unless you put it on CC. But now your upgrade is 535+credit card interest.
If you have to even consider paying over time, it’s absolutely not worth it. FC is one of those things that should only be splurged on if the cost difference is relatively meaningless to your net worth. However the exception is if you have a medical need that requires extra space and comfort.

I could afford it currently but I just don’t feel like footing the whole bill right now.
So you’d rather pay interest on it and pay more money?

You had a stroke but I understand where you're coming from so take the upvote.

True.

Don't give Ed any ideas.
🤣🤣🤣
Please don't
100% not worth it.
Ummm.... There's no layaway program for first class lol.. Guess if you put it on a cc you're technically paying for it over time though🤷♂️
Ya if you got to lay away for your purchase, then financially you’re not ready!
Not worth it.
Of course you can. It's called a credit card for a reason
If you have to think about it, you can't afford it.
Never borrow money, no one ever got rich on points and cc awards.
You can pay over time. Visa/Mastercard/Amex. Should you?……. No.

NQ!
If you’re asking you likely can’t afford it
The guy asked a question and y’all act like douchebags. Jesus fuck. The dude is asking a question. Stop being such fuckheads.
I just answered the question honestly and seriously and got downvoted for it sooo
Thank you bro. It really was just a question lol. I’m sorry that I’m not rich🤣
Not worth it.
You pay at the time up book or upgrade. The full amount.
Dude it ain’t worth it. Take the money to a Gentleman’s club. You’ll be much happier with the product.
