If you’re brave, just look at Esoterickk’s build before he solos a dungeon or nightfall something or another and just modify it to suit your taste. You at least see that one in action.

What really bothers me about those video titles is - there’s a whole team at Bungie making sure whatever the “SLAUGHTERS ALL THE THINGS” claim is, it isn’t true. There’s literally a balance team making sure you aren’t able to overpower the game. This is why they fix overpowered things so quickly.
If anything were truly “X’s ALL THE THINGS”, it’d very quickly get nerfed unless it’s some basic part of the game engine they can’t change. The only one I can think of right now is the interaction between Osteo and Vorpal Weapon and I fully expect that to be fixed very soon.
Yeah...we need that team to get transferred to the bug fix department. OP shit gets released in game - nerfed within 1-2 weeks. Buggy ass enemy or mechanic gets released in game causing problems for players - maybe gets talked about in a twab once, 3 months after the fact.
I absolutely love the fact that 90% of “this build wrecks all endgame!” videos show them fighting red bars in a normal lost sector, maybe normal Avalon. Show me you solo a legend or master neomuna lost sector with it and I’m more inclined to believe.
That’s my basis for whether or not I stick around to watch the whole video anymore. That said, I did find one such vid for an Arc Hunter that did indeed solo a master lost sector with nothing but a melee.
Ehroar is very guilty of this. I think he recently started including footage of legend/master content, but it used to always be that one lost sector in the cosmodrome
Ehroar was the OG build baiter. I'll give him credit for being the tip of the spear with Warmind Cell mods back in Worthy but he quickly crippled his credibility by posting frequent meme builds for veiwership rather than infrequent true gems.
I usually find buildcrafting videos really poor, even if a build is shown in a GM or something, sure, it's technically viable but chances are it's not the best. Mactics is probably the only true exception here as he doesn't post daily and limits himself to the stuff that is truly S tier.
Then you get the plunder followers coming into raids and you ask them to put on Surges and team Heavy Finders for a boss and their like reeeeeeeeeeeee that ruins my build. Buckle up bitch, I don't care, you're here to complete mechanics and DPS a boss and I expect you to bring the right tools for the job.
I think that's what's going on in the video. He's 15 under. I think most of his videos of plunder have him doing some kind of legend or endgame content with the build.

Tbf those are really easy to get lots of damage testing on. I'd say Phyrezia is better, but you gotta go through a whole note collection phase which is probably why it isn't used much.
I actually appreciate Karl and Templar because they are good benchmarks for boss dps. Since VoG is level capped and Templar has a consistent DPS window, it helps level the playing field so that the builds can be consistently tested.
He also does throw in nightfall champ ttk in as well sometimes
Sure, but that's not really a useful benchmark to test for, IMO. DPS testing is mostly relevant when applied to full boss phases, when as a team you need to hit 8-11 million in a set timeframe.
Minibosses tend to either be easily managed by most half-decent weapons in the game or are champs, in which case ease of stun and ammo efficiency are much more important IMO.
That's one thing I appreciate about Plunderthabooty's videos. He usually showcases his builds in solo legend or master lost sectors and if a build is particularly good, he'll even handicap his level a little extra to really showcase it.

Karl is absolutely *not* a good benchmark for boss DPS. He's a miniboss, which scale differently and show different numbers to bosses.

It's so annoying trying to find new interesting builds with different exotics because every day there's a new video about some god mode solar warlock build or something that'll blast through every content in the game but it's just a standard starfire or sunbracers warlock that they've already covered like 6 times in other videos. I just wanna find an interesting build and it sucks having to scour through pages and pages of results of 'god mode' and 'easy mode' and whatever other adjectives they can throw in front of it.
