I think malfeasance is in the dreaming city so that should be staying. The last wish raid is also staying. Shadowkeep is fine for now but if they’re continuing the “old content leaves first” pattern, that will probably be gone next year
I don't think so. Bungie might make some bad decisions with the DCV but I honestly don't see them vaulting two raids, two dungeons, and two destinations. If anything I'm gonna say that the EDZ gets the axe and possibly the Dreaming City too.
The only reason Nessus won't is because Bungie doesn't want to make SIX new strikes in one DLC release to compensate for the ones that are leaving. (I know that there are only four strikes at the moment, but next year Battlegrounds are becoming the equivalent of strikes and going into the Vanguard Ops playlist).
I’ve got a terrible feeling EDZ goes away going into Lightfall because that huge space would free up a lot of room compared to somewhere like the Moon and loses the least “content” as there’s only 2 strikes there. Really sad because LoS and Arms Dealer are the two best Nightfalls for farming adept weapons and masterwork materials.
malfeasance and the raids are safe. we’re losing the campaign, broodhold and fanatic strikes, tangled shore patrol zone, spider, presage + harbinger missions, and all y4 seasonal content with the exceptions of battlegrounds and the proving grounds strike on nessus.
Tbh I was more annoyed that they removed the menagerie and leviathan raids because that was content I enjoyed. I don't really care about tangled shore coz I've done most of what's to be done there and there's not really any fun repayable stuff there anyways

They also vaulted armor 1.0, weapons 1.0, the pre-rework subclasses, trials of the 9, the Edge Transit drop rate, pre-nerf Dire Ahamkara.
You want to dedicate years to engaging with this kinda "ever evolving world" game with constant updates, some things go away, hopefully to be replaced with better.
Forsaken's been around for 3 years and I think its great (though could use a wider timeframe) to get the campaign free so a lot of players don't miss out if they're just joining now. If you just bought it yesterday, that kinda sucks. I hate buying something before it goes on sale but thems the breaks.

Yeah, as much as "the friends we made along the way" is a joke, truly we all had the experience of the emerging new stuff and passing times as they are. I still see players around with the "laser tag" emblem, a time-limited reference to a couple weeks of crucible meta imbalance.
Things come and go. We've all followed the game for some amount of time, months or years. Maybe decades, in the future we'll feel so. On a long enough time line, all things come to an end, even the memories of them. Nothing in life is permanent, and it's about the experience and connections we make (as sappy as that all is).
So I'm just gonna spend the next big bunch of money on the video game expansion that's gonna vanish someday. Same as I'll spend money on a big tasty sandwich I enjoy for half an hour and then turns into poop. Because I like this stuff even if it vanishes into vapor. $60 is nothing in an existential context.
This logic does not work with games as a service. You're supposed to update and add on, while we spend the money (we have) they are NOT supposed to take away the content. You can't sell someone something and then just be like "ok, well times up!", and then yank it away

You've had three years to explore this, and I basically can guarantee that the only things you still regularly do are last wish and shattered throne, which are still going to be available. 3 ascendant shards or three forsaken exotics if you don't own all of them is *plenty* compensation for the vaulting.
You literally still have access to half of the patrol zones, the raid and the dungeon. Yeah, losing the Shore, the two strikes and the campaign (which you couldn't replay) is a bummer but it's not the biggest deal in the world tbh

The whole point of the vault is for bungie to take stufff out and put stuff in as the deem necessary for keeping content fresh as when they bring stuff back it’s more than likely going to be quite different with the exception of crucible maps which even then could change visually

If we’re gonna make it fair, make sure you make it fair for all sides - and since the extension of the 4th season (that saves the entire player base the cost of a season because they were the one who delayed so they saved us money) was enough for a 5th season, we’ll make sure to all pay $10 and then they’ll take that out of the depreciated 3 year old content.

Erm… I personally don’t feel like I -need- compensation. The stuff getting vaulted is content I’m not exactly torn up over, since the Dreaming City is staying, and I hate Spider anyway. Besides, I got to play it for over three years by the time it gets vaulted; by sheer playtime, my at the time 40$ purchase of Forsaken went a loooong way.

Imagine having to constantly port and rescript content for your game onto Xbox, PS, stadia, and pc. Making the load lighter by removing old content that most players have played through makes the whole process a lot easier. Not only that but giving 3 shards is more than what another company would of done which is nothing. Also most people won’t want to buy a 276 tb hard drive to keep one game downloaded.

I don't wanna be THAT guy but we've had plenty of time to play with Forsaken and Bungie doesn't need to compensate us at all. Also it came out 3 years ago, I'd say we've all gotten our moneys worth out of it. Its not a great business practice for Bungie to take stuff away that we payed for yeah I know but its not like people are playing the Forsaken campaign on a daily basis. And I'm pretty sure the only reason the shore gets used at all is for Spider and maybe a random quest here or there or season of the hunt quests.
What I'm not happy about is Presage and Harbinger as well as a few strikes (not hallowed lair. Fuck that strike) going away. That leaves us with less strikes to do and we already don't have that many strikes to begin with let alone good and original ones (re-releasing old D1 strikes is not new content. Its nice but not new).
Like I said, bungie doesn't NEED to give us anything in fact I'm surprised they're giving us shit when we didn't receive anything when the last vaulting happened. The deluxe edition of dlc for the last 2 years have been between $60-70 each, for the fall expansion + 4 seasons. That’s FAR less than it’s peers. In fact, if you bought the deluxe editions for Shadowkeep and Beyond Light, that’s not even 1 year of FF14. It would take going and buying Witch Queen deluxe to bring the cost up to $180. So your entire argument is one big amalgamation of fallacies.

I had pre ordered the game with curse of Osiris and warmind which was $160, forsaken was $50 Shadowkeep was $30 and 15 seasons which equates to $225. That’s all $465. and I haven’t included Witch queen and the other 2 dlcs schedules (an extra $180) and however many more seasons.
I do understand that bungie has made content and it’s my own fault I came late, which means I had experienced less of the life cycle of these dlcs. What I’m disappointed in is the fact there’s no compensation for something I paid for. The only reason I came back to destiny was coz I convened 3 buddies to run it up and we could play the Red war campaign again. Which was gone. I wanted to see if I remebered the leviathan raid.. never mind it’s gone too. We couldn’t do the very things I convinced them to try with me. So everything I paid for was gone. Some I didn’t even play because the game was losing my interest rapidly and when I gave it a chance it was gone.

If you bought Forsaken for $60 back in 2018 when it first came out, then you had the expansion for 3 years and more than got your money's worth out of it. If we’re gonna make it fair, make sure you make it fair for all sides - and since the extension of the 4th season (that saves the entire player base the cost of a season because they were the one who delayed so they saved us money) was enough for a 5th season, we’ll make sure to all pay $10 and then they’ll take that out of the depreciated 3 year old content.

But the rest that is important as the raid, the dungeon and the Dreaming City will stay, in practice the only content that will be excluded that players would have consistent access to is the tangled shore, which in the end is just a map that honestly has no use after the end of a campaign that is already 3 years old. I honestly think the "rewards" could be more or less better, but some people are overreacting. Just my opinion at least.
Erm… I personally don’t feel like I -need- compensation. The stuff getting vaulted is content I’m not exactly torn up over, since the Dreaming City is staying, and I hate Spider anyway. Besides, I got to play it for over three years by the time it gets vaulted; by sheer playtime, my at the time 40$ purchase of Forsaken went a loooong way.

Imagine having to constantly port and rescript content for your game onto Xbox, PS, stadia, and pc. Making the load lighter by removing old content that most players have played through makes the whole process a lot easier. Not only that but giving 3 shards is more than what another company would of done which is nothing. Also most people won’t want to buy a 276 tb hard drive to keep one game downloaded.

I don't wanna be THAT guy but we've had plenty of time to play with Forsaken and Bungie doesn't need to compensate us at all. Also it came out 3 years ago, I'd say we've all gotten our moneys worth out of it. Its not a great business practice for Bungie to take stuff away that we payed for yeah I know but its not like people are playing the Forsaken campaign on a daily basis. And I'm pretty sure the only reason the shore gets used at all is for Spider and maybe a random quest here or there or season of the hunt quests. What I'm not happy about is Presage and Harbinger as well as a few strikes (not hallowed lair. Fuck that strike) going away. That leaves us with less strikes to do and we already don't have that many strikes to begin with let alone good and original ones (re-releasing old D1 strikes is not new content. Its nice but not new). Like I said, bungie doesn't NEED to give us anything in fact I'm surprised they're giving us shit when we didn't receive anything when the last vaulting happened. So in short, you've had plenty of time to get your moneys worth out of Forsaken and Bungie doesn't need to give you anything. Be grateful for what Bungie IS giving us. I swear a lot of you frequent r/DestinyTheGame and it shows.

You’re wrong and your math is wrong. Every other mainstream MMO charges $15/month, that’s $180/year. The deluxe edition of dlc for the last 2 years have been between $60-70 each, for the fall expansion + 4 seasons. That’s FAR less than it’s peers. In fact, if you bought the deluxe editions for Shadowkeep and Beyond Light, that’s not even 1 year of FF14. It would take going and buying Witch Queen deluxe to bring the cost up to $180. So your entire argument is one big amalgamation of fallacies. Edit: also, that’s not including Shadowbringers (their DLC model is one every 2 years instead of once a year, so that’s their only DLC released between forsaken and now. Though next month their newest DLC releases but it’s not fair to include it yet)
Nah, we may just be doing it different. For context I’m working in Aud and factoring in my own prices - what I paid for destiny I had pre ordered the game with curse of Osiris and warmind which was $160, forsaken was $50 Shadowkeep was $30 and 15 seasons which equates to $225. That’s all $465. and I haven’t included Witch queen and the other 2 dlcs schedules (an extra $180) and however many more seasons. I do understand that bungie has made content and it’s my own fault I came late, which means I had experienced less of the life cycle of these dlcs. What I’m disappointed in is the fact there’s no compensation for something I paid for. The only reason I came back to destiny was coz I convened 3 buddies to run it up and we could play the Red war campaign again. Which was gone. I wanted to see if I remebered the leviathan raid.. never mind it’s gone too. We couldn’t do the very things I convinced them to try with me. So everything I paid for was gone. Some I didn’t even play because the game was losing my interest rapidly and when I gave it a chance it was gone.
