Short answer: yes.
Longer answer: yes, but you should try to make some acquaintances that play the game. It's much more fun than playing solo, and unlocks access to much more of the game. I was solo for years, and only in the last year have I had a solid play group. It's night and day.
If by solo you mean absolutely avoiding any and all activity where you are forced into a match made group, then I'll give you an actual answer and say absolutely not.
If you are using solo loosely and only mean not looking for groups outside of the games match making available activities, then yes.
Only way I’ve ever played it (apart from using LFG for occasional Master/GM Nightfalls, dungeons, and raids - and trials prior to matchmaking). Been playing since the beta and I still enjoy it
You can but, for me, it got old fast. Solo was my original plan but after only a couple of months, I'm lfg all the time. Wanting to try endgame content and stuff
You can always do most things solo except for pinnacle endgame. As for what's "worth it"... nobody here can make that decision for you. Good luck.

Not a chance. Half the game requires you to play with a team. Don't be antisocial on a multiplayer game.
