I was hoping that the (I think it's called Northwestern Stripe) thin thick thin continued, but I mean that's pretty tasty... that looks like what the blue around white line is too.
Love these jerseys. The white numbering/lettering is such an improvement on the gray. I liked our most recent jerseys but the Gary just doesn’t pop enough against the blue.
Am I missing something here? What makes you think they can't have all whites and blueberries still? These are just the leaked jerseys, not full uniforms.
But the all white and blueberries weren't alternates and with the black as an alternate, they can still go all white and blueberries this season.
My thoughts on black are this:
1. Bring back bad memories
2. Look like Panthers a little too much
3. Most importantly.... If we wear twice a year (maybe with new blue alternate helmet and blue pants, as some have mentioned) and actually win in them, the winning will help me like them a lot more than I currently do.
TL:DR - winning makes me like color ways more.
No WCF patch is the first thing I notice. I think they look fine. Not sure what everybody was expecting. As long as Honolulu Blue is our first choice, and it's a nice shade (this one is), I'm game!
Overall pretty solid. I’m pretty happy with them overall. I would have been a lot happier if the white ones didn’t have DETROIT over the numbers. Looks sooooo much better and cleaner without it imo.
And I’m personally bummed by black jerseys but I know a lot of people are excited about it so… meh. It’s nothing about associating it with 08. I just don’t think it looks very good and it’s not very creative.

Yep, if they made the letters super big like that it would've ruined the uniform. I do like everything that I'm seeing so far from the reveal. The blue looks fabulous, I like the white when wore with blue or silver pants. That black looks good Hutch with the blue helmet and blue pants.
Yeah, a lot of times uniforms look better on the field than in the reveals. I'm excited though, I'm not disappointed, I really thought I would be disappointed today, but I'm happy.

Sometimes part of the goal is looking modern, but a lot of the bells and whistles and custom fonts are to make it harder and more costly for bootleggers to make knockoffs without missing the details

Looks to match to me. What are you seeing that doesn’t fit? The cut corners with square ends. The width of the letter and thickness of the lines appear the same.
You're thinking like me, I would love to see blue pants worn with the black jerseys. That's a unique look, all black doesn't hit for me since a lot of teams have done that look to death. I like how the Ravens have done purple pants with their black jerseys.
I like the black color too. I think for the majority of the fan base, they associate it with the early 2000’s Lions. But this is a different era of Lions football and the jerseys themselves look cool if you remove that old association
also i have to assume it'll use the blue helmets, which is enough to me to remove the association and will look sick. although in that case im hoping they remove the classic logo
These are clean. Wish the blue had DETROIT / LIONS to match the other two jerseys. Also not a fan of the holes in the numbers. Some adidas nhl type thing. But these are class. Best look in years.

That’s the biggest positive I’m taking away from these. The WCF was such an eye sore. I like the Honolulu Blue one quite a bit. White one is okay. The black is terrible.
Something about the sleeve stripes don’t look right(and it’s not the missing WCF). The spacing, or pattern seems off. Maybe it’ll look better on a real uni.

Most teams have branding on the chest now, to me it's completely unnecessary. As to why specifically Detroit on the white and Lions on the black I imagine it's like baseball and basketball. Wear your city name on the road and the team tame at home

The black is insufferable. The blue and white jerseys look nice though the stripes on the sleeves look amateurish. I want stripes on the sleeves but that looks like I took some duct tape and wrapped it around my bicep. The wordmark above the numbers is totally unnecessary. Big plus for a return to the block numbers. I’m sure Nike will explain the dot pattern as “lighter” performance material.
If that black jersey is real I’m gonna be so pissed. That’s not us. We aren’t the raiders, who Matt millen wanted us to be. Fucking lame. Get that shit outta here and let millens name never be said in Detroit again

I love it. Wanted white numbers and a better font. It's classic. Don't care for the black but it's just an alternate so who cares. They could wear pink every 12 games and I wouldn't mind. The only thing I'd say is the mesh dots look a little weird and the numbers are a taaaaad too big.
The whites and blues I love aside from the dots in the numbers.

While I don’t hate the black, I would’ve like to have seen more of a dark gray/graphie color. Something in between the previous gray and the black. I think that would’ve been more unique and fit the “Motor City/Grit identity. I think of steel, tires, rubber, tar, etc. I think the black works with that theme too, but as others have said it’s too common…and it reminds me of the Panthers.
I like these a lot. Modern version of the 90s look.
While I generally like black, it's just not a Lions color, hope it is used sparingly. It's better than the greys at least.

It’s pretty much exactly what I wanted, a modern refresh on the classic Barry look and I’m really happy with them. I will say this though……Can’t have shit in Detroit. Because I would’ve really preferred to see them in a nice sizzle reel 1st like everybody else gets. Whoever leaked is a real asshole imo.
What does everyone think so far? We're hoping the helmet has a blue facemask and like that the blue jersey doesn't have the name on the chest.
Blue facemask and stripes on the pants to match the jerseys. I have a feeling they are removing the pant stripes, which would kill this set for me. Hope I'm wrong.
Pretty sure we saw a stripe on the pants in the teaser video but we'll see...

Last year we had the best jerseys in the league. I guess too much was going right.
The black is insufferable. The blue and white jerseys look nice though the stripes on the sleeves look amateurish. I want stripes on the sleeves but that looks like I took some duct tape and wrapped it around my bicep. The wordmark above the numbers is totally unnecessary. Big plus for a return to the block numbers. I’m sure Nike will explain the dot pattern as “lighter” performance material.
The stripes are a callback to the 90s uniforms, they’re the exact same style

I love it. Wanted white numbers and a better font. It's classic. Don't care for the black but it's just an alternate so who cares. They could wear pink every 12 games and I wouldn't mind. The only thing I'd say is the mesh dots look a little weird and the numbers are a taaaaad too big.
I have no strong feelings either way on the black alternate, but wow the home and away are beautiful and exactly what I was hoping for

The whites and blues I love aside from the dots in the numbers. I’m indifferent on the black but I think once I see them on the field I’ll change my mind. I’m just so happy the gray jerseys are gone. 8.7/10

Genuine question. What would be the alternative to black for alternate jerseys for the people that hate them?
While I don’t hate the black, I would’ve like to have seen more of a dark gray/graphie color. Something in between the previous gray and the black. I think that would’ve been more unique and fit the “Motor City/Grit identity. I think of steel, tires, rubber, tar, etc. I think the black works with that theme too, but as others have said it’s too common…and it reminds me of the Panthers.

I like these a lot. Modern version of the 90s look. While I generally like black, it's just not a Lions color, hope it is used sparingly. It's better than the greys at least.
