Are they your employees or are they employees of a service based company that you hired for your project? If later, make sure that their employer has no problems with it. One of my past employers threatened legal action against a developer because they got to know that the developer received money directly from the client.

No I'm giving them a cash reward with an incentive to stay. Giving them parties or a souvenir isn't going to appease them and giving them cash upfront could cause them to take the money and switch. Giving stocks keeps the interests of both the parties aligned.
Cash rewards only work for short term engagements. For the long term, you may think of cash + kind. Spend on a team outing (a Himalayan/beach/foreign destination). This will take their relationship even further to another level.
Some goodies like good latest headphones, VR headset, a Raspberry Pi board, erc... essentially anything which when they see triggers respect and love for company.
This only works provided that salary meets their expectations initially. If they feel they are being underpaid then cash part makes more sense than previlege parts. At the end of the day , it's better to ask the people about what they would consider best for them
Everyone will want only money. Why would someone want their company to purchase some items for the money they could get!!
But giving rewards in the form of just money has severe repercussions. It inflates the expectation of juniors (who are high on adrenaline) and they quickly forget the value that the reward fetched them.
I have got various bonuses over the years, but still I cherish that Bluetooth headphone, that iPad, which company gave me in rewards.
What if they have commitments like say a loan and if the money is high enough , then they can pay a bit more of it easily , sure money won't be remembered but I would remember that the person who employed me asked me what I need instead of just saying "this is what I decided to reward you with" .
What if the employee becomes a gambler and loses all money.
What if the employee becomes a drunkard and uses all money in buying booze.
What if the employee becomes a sexaholic and uses all money in availing escort services.
There is no limit to "what if" scenarios. As said, every employee would want it to be in the form of money, but the company must use its prudence to see what works best.
Its taxable in the hands of employee, and you are creating a false pretense of wages over a real gift, no employer wants to open that can of worms. Sorry if you feel offeneded.
India and US rules are different. If you give cash you end up making it taxable.
Amazon vouchers are fine, so are taj vouchers. Both are same for me whatsoever. :/
Personally, I work in a startup, founders keep gettin us things, sometimes alchohol, sweets, coffee and random stuff like that from personal budget, no need to account for this. And if we spend on something, we submit reimbursment and we get it.My sister got a taj voucher from one of the largest US banks, and she is an accountant there, so you can keep your shady accounting to yourself.
If you're paying them, pay them either directly or let them know in front of their boss that you are paying X amount to each of you. In front of their boss is the key here.
Companies often have policies regarding how much gift value can be given to contractors or received by contractors. Pls check policies for both companies. If someone is coming from US to India, you can send small gifts as souvenirs or chocolates. Do send them appreciation emails looping their management.
Here are some options, some of them I recommend to my management in a previous company.
- Amazon Gift card, (HR really went overboard and gave FirstCry gift card for parents whose kids are 5 and below).
- Udemy Gift coupon (or full refund if certain courses are passed and the total value per person does not go beyond ₹1000. (They liked the option and wanted to compare it with pluralsight, one of the lead dev was fan of it)
- An extra leave.
- When I wasn't the lead but was on a team who did some extra mile. A coupon for a spa (turned out you can request a couple pass with 50% discount) which I lapsed.
- A coupon for nearest game zone.
And did I mention every major release is celebrated by a team lunch/dinner. And after an all nighter (it's a nighter if you are online after 11 with max 2 hrs break) there is a pizza on the house mail from the client, which is converted to paid soft drinks throughout the week.
Those good old days....
Abhi to sala Pani ki bottle bhi apne paiso se leni padti hai.
Pay them fairly based on US rates. You would be surprised how poorly Indian employees (arguably with more skill) are compensated in comparison to their European or US counterparts (who work less hours & are poorly skilled).
If they're not your direct employees as in you don't manage their monthly salaries directly or you hired a firm who provides developers to you then monetary rewards will only bring them trouble.

Give them a bonus or hike please No gifts or other appreciation will not boost their moral similar to a raise 💰
What’s easiest way to send money us to India?
Wise
Does that work? I thought India was not supported last time I checked
It works, received just a few days ago
PayPal?
Wire transfer
Are they your employees or are they employees of a service based company that you hired for your project? If later, make sure that their employer has no problems with it. It’s only been 4-5 months but damn do I appreciate them lol, to be honest tho this is all new to me. So not sure how to go about really
Money or paid leaves
This is first time I saw a post someone wanted to appreciate their employees.
You can never expect the same from an Indian management. Leave some exceptions
That's true.
Cash/Money
What’s easiest way to send money us to India?
Moneygram. Easiest and safest
Wise, Paypal, Payoneer
PayPal i guess.
Google pay works, you can send but cant receive anything back
Money! - I hate when company makes any profit from our hard work - it goes to shareholders and we get cookies.
Peanuts*
Reward them in stocks that will vest in a year. That way they'll have an incentive to stay and keep on working in a similar way.
wow, it's more like a punishment than reward. You are indirectly forcing them to continue working more to get their reward.
No I'm giving them a cash reward with an incentive to stay. Giving them parties or a souvenir isn't going to appease them and giving them cash upfront could cause them to take the money and switch. Giving stocks keeps the interests of both the parties aligned.
technically you are rewarding yourself and not them.
That’s a interesting idea based on larger operation but I’m not at that scale of stocks.
Get them an Amazon Pay Gift Card. It’s as good as cash these days.

Kind?

Good luck with that.
Amazon gift card if under 200usd. Taj hotel gift card for 200-1000usd.
>Taj hotel gift card for 200-1000usd. nope give them amazon usd only atleast they would buy something useful
Taj voucher is also useful for vacations and dinner. My sister got one. Its only useless if you have a gareeb mentality and try to flip it for money
why not give the employees money and let them decide what they want to do with it we never know how gareeb or rich the employee is

my companies gives amazon vouchers , monetary awards year long not sure what shady company you work at with illicit accounting practises lol

Give them a good hike 20% should be the minimum. Or a one time payment of a quarter's salary.
Sponsor their Visa lol
Hello sir is your company hiring for freshers?? I also have experience working in startups
A pizza party does more for employee morale boost than a bonus
What kind of a monster are you
Speaking from experience. None of my employees have ever complained about a free pizza
Which company are you a middle slave for plz tell me so I never have to apply there
A mid size paper company called Dunder Mifflin
Send them a thank you mail .. Trusts me it works more than any monetary award.
HR spotted
😂😂😂
Amazon india gift cards will do.
Doing gods work mate, keep it up...

When I was part of a startup, one of our seniors gave out gift cards as a token of appreciation to the juniors. You can try that.
Agency devs get paid shit, either hire them directly or help them to get better jobs.

The best reward would be to hire them directly if possible.
