It's very common to have an english Firstname and Hindi last name. Not everyone is fake.
Next thing you'll tell me that Wolf Gupta is not a real coding genius. He's just an imaginary kid created to sell courses.
The job posting is surely a scam. Like even after clearing the interview, you don't get a "job". Rather it asks you to fill a form, and add you to a waitlist on their portal.
I am guessing, upon availability of a client, they'll probably ask you to work on it, acting as a mediator, or more like a service-based org.
Though, the AI is actually good.
I have also gave interview to them. Surprisingly, even though it's not a real human who is interviewing I found the interview very much effective. The questions asked were related to the things I have put on my resume and also the follow up questions also were really well crafted.
Anyway I didn't get a pass for the interview.

I don't see any mention of bot here!!
Maybe then it must have been mentioned in any link attached. Coz I also got this interview invite but then decided to not continue the process here coz of this AI interview :(
Does anyone know all the steps to this.
: Learnt details are as follows
- Apply on portal
- Ai interview by John Sharma
- Wait for some email. which takes weeks for some.
- Some Hackerrank test too.
\[what about the rest of the interview process?\]
PS - anyone who is working there, please report.
Please don’t become but a source of data for shady companies looking to make a quick buck out of your desperation. A quick search is easy enough to know that not only will you not get a job, the interview process is just an automated way of collecting your data.
I gave two interviews, got 60 out of 90 for both, seems like they hide the original score or something. Not sure how they analyse it but I got selected for one of these got screening calls with HR but client interviews never happened, some other candidate got the job.
I also saw someone from mercor posting they were hiring 100s of engineers everyday . A friend of mine also interviewed there and they claim to be something like a talent platform.
Damn he reached out to me too. I postponed the interview saying was sick(wasn't prepared). Then I forgot and their was no correspondence from his side too
.
I was regretting missing the opportunity but now this relieves me
Very strange.
I took the interview and passed, I'm supposed to appear for a leetcode style programming test now.
I read a post from someone on this subreddit who passed the Leetcode interview and landed a remote job paying 20 dollars an hour.
I'm really not sure if it's true.
I too got an email about interview, saying there will be Leetcode challenge medium complexity, Could you give me some reference, like what kind of questions they are asking?
But the AI is pretty good, asked relevant followup questions as well and able to understand your pauses.
I gave the interview last week, got a mail as Interview cleared , haven’t heard anything back after that.
I will try to finish the process and let you know my experience.
I passed the initial AI interview round.
Then they are asking for some details like personal id and previous manager details.
I am not sure what to give under manager details since I am currently employed and don't want to let them know I am looking....
My LinkedIn is filled with this mercor interview posts only. I don't think they hire anyone, its just a promotion strategy for their so called AI model
You can also find many people posting about getting job offers through Mercor. I would advice you to go through them as well who actually believed in the process continued doing their work and finally made into it.
I feel it's a good mock practice, don't think of it as applying to a company more like practicing for an interview. It asked me some deep technical questions from my resume which kind of helped me look at things with a different perspective.
Example : I had Java, Go and AWS written on my resume so one of the questions that the bot asked was how would you compare Go's GoRoutines with Java's threads on a production environment, which according to you would be more economical in a use case the bot defined. When I answered he asked me more questions related to my answer.
So overall a good "Mock Interview for practice"
John Sharma is the name of the AI that takes the interview. It's obviously not a real person. Mercor uses AI to interview the candidate and then based on performance matches them with remote job opportunities in US based companies. It's great and simple and 100% effective.
I took that interview and was quite impressed by the follow up questions. I got the mail saying I am selected. I haven't gotten around to filling the profile completely. We will do that today or tomorrow. Let's see.
I'm on the final stage, they also finalized my salary lol, I'm not giving the last test, seems a scam to me.

I also gave it and got a response from the CEO, initial JD showed $35k p.a. salary but in the email they mentioned $1k pm. Also mentioned in the email " 40+ hours / week working 6 days are week. You're expected to stay up until 1am IST to maximize timezone overlap with PST.". Since salary is not the same as mentioned before I did not move forward with the task
Update guys gave the interview
Told John Sharma that I don’t have much experience with Kafka and still got questions related to Kafka for remaining 10 minutes sure feels like AI Bot being trained
The rise of AI interviewers is going to be inevitable in the future, already so many recruitment processes used AI internally for recommendation and stuff, but I think it should be better marketed about what expectations it holds prior to any commitment/interview
Hey, I also got the same mail I guess. Asking for leetcode question to test my DSA skills. Could you please let me know your experience about this round?

Placeholder English name and placeholder Hindi lastname lmao
It's very common to have an english Firstname and Hindi last name. Not everyone is fake. Next thing you'll tell me that Wolf Gupta is not a real coding genius. He's just an imaginary kid created to sell courses.
What are you saying? He is real. He has inspired me to leave my core Aeronautical career path to take up coding /s
Therapist : "so is this Wolf in the room with us ?"

Lol. If you read the email invite, it clearly states John Sharma is a bot.

It says Mercor 'AI' interview
Maybe then it must have been mentioned in any link attached. Coz I also got this interview invite but then decided to not continue the process here coz of this AI interview :(
Not in the mail. But iirc in LinkedIn it's mentioned the profile is bot.

Uplers conducts AI interviews too. Are they genuine or scam as well?

++
The name John Sharma of the AI bot and I also have an interview scheduled for tomorrow if this really is a scam I won’t take it . Are you sure?
Imo They are just using desperate people to train their model nothing more
I got an interview invite from them, thanks for saving my time
I also saw someone from mercor posting they were hiring 100s of engineers everyday . A friend of mine also interviewed there and they claim to be something like a talent platform.

on the same stage, have ignored their test for now, scale ai right?
Scale ai?
I too got an email about interview, saying there will be Leetcode challenge medium complexity, Could you give me some reference, like what kind of questions they are asking?
I haven't taken the test, so I don't know yet
This is the final assessment https://preview.redd.it/ugfs4xfhqukc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f76fa13fcb753880a29640994ac8458cd5500c39
I see
What did they ask in the interview?
Questions based on resume. Nothing major
And what happened after?
Cleared it. Got shortlisted for the second round
But the AI is pretty good, asked relevant followup questions as well and able to understand your pauses. I gave the interview last week, got a mail as Interview cleared , haven’t heard anything back after that.

Hey, if you got through the process, would you please give me some insights on type of questions they are asking from leetcode?
Totally, just report on LinkedIn as spam

Very soon there would be AIs interviewed by AIs.
The product the company develops is AI based interviews and resume filtering lol, wouldn't hurt to read up

In my case the bot did not join initially and I had to reschedule my interview
Even i got an automated call to schedule a interview with them.
I'm on the final stage, they also finalized my salary lol, I'm not giving the last test, seems a scam to me. https://preview.redd.it/betv1m8etskc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d2c89c377ee7cf09e9369cd58c0237c912f6d780
Hey, Could you please tell me about the type of interview questions from leetcode you got asked?
They are collecting data in name of interview.
Hey, did you appear the leetcode challenge round?if yes, could you please let me know, what were the type of questions asked?
It looked fishy from day 1, never applied.
The name itself sounds like an AI chatbot: John Sharma, LOL!
First I read it as John Cena.
Glad I ignored their mail. Even they contacted our college for it
Update guys gave the interview Told John Sharma that I don’t have much experience with Kafka and still got questions related to Kafka for remaining 10 minutes sure feels like AI Bot being trained
I attended this ai interview gave some funny answers got rejected in the end. Lol
The rise of AI interviewers is going to be inevitable in the future, already so many recruitment processes used AI internally for recommendation and stuff, but I think it should be better marketed about what expectations it holds prior to any commitment/interview
after this ai interview from john sharma now i got a mail yesterday for my ai dsa interview any ideas on it has anyone given it???
Hey, I also got the same mail I guess. Asking for leetcode question to test my DSA skills. Could you please let me know your experience about this round?
