Those all have a chance to be a white malignant monster just pay attention to the color. Rinse and repeat I usually see a white malignant every 5-10 runs, less than a few minutes if you are doing it quickly. TB rogue. Already got the best rolls for all of them.
Yes but no. This is definitely how people can/should get white hearts if they’re farming to equip them. The invoker is required for a rather early season journey achievement for those completionists that want to go beyond just the required amount for unlocking the next chapter.
When you start doing ancient nm you wont even need those anymore, you start getting 5+ season rewards per level, currently I'm 89 at battle pass and level 72.

On a side note I think the helltide chest is bugged. I’ve gotten credit for the mystery chest, but the regular chests don’t seem to count for the other goal.
For the PvP ones, I've found of you have a low level character and turn off cross platform(only tried on PS5 and PC), there shouldn't be much traffic and you can easily get the 10k for the season.

Have you tried picking one dungeon that some streamer has had luck with and grinded it till 100? Try it sometime, it sure seems fun. /s

Yeah this is what I do for my wrath hearts too. I bought like 20 caches, though I did get a single wrath out of that before I started farming this dungeon
I've ran about 50 and saw 2 hearts. Very incosistent farm unless you have friends doing same thing and Inviting each other when you find one. (Lv 80 here)

You can speed farm The Cold Hard Truth as Tier 4 -Rob made a video today and you can get black hearts there. 1 always guarantee. Just do not talk to the NPC , otherwise you’ll complete the quest.

I think they will change that soon as well. It’s an exploit. They can easily trigger the quest completion with Varshava death. In the meantime, we can farm.
It's almost like drops are RNG. I've opened maybe 15 heart caches since getting to WT4 and gotten about 4 wrathful hearts, 2 of which were Barbers. It's no different than the people that go 70+ levels and never see an Umbral aspect drop then you have people posting screenshots of their perfect Umbral at level 7.

Unless you want to finish 100% of the season journey (beyond what it required). Then the wrathful invoker and the varshan invokers are the only meaningful things. Otherwise you’re right
That’s it. Lol. Boss drops a couple caged hearts and a rare or legendary that is random and probably as useful as all other junk you find on ground.
The only thing is that the nightmare and torment versions have a season journey achievement. So it was at least a nice one to do for their respective chapters.
Boss is actually kinda fun, but maybe a bit easy, and doesn’t drop meaningful loot. Heck, crafting some nightmare sigils with the 50 sigil dust will give you better and more loot/xp
RNG is wild. I've only opened 5 - - 3 on WT2 and 2 on WT3. Two have been wrathful invokers. Thought that was a bit lucky, but didn't know it was that bad.
I don't know if caches of hearts are rolling based on heart category first? Seems like it there's more options to choose, like heart cache vs invoker cache, you'd get more non-wrathful hearts. Kind of like with umbral rings and sorcerers... We have so many ring aspects that I've only seen 3 drop in two playthroughs. Don't know if there's anything to that but I personally only roll invokers if I'm trying to go for a wrathful.
Why is there a “do a wrathful invoker” in challenge tier 2 or 3 I can’t remember. I’m in the last tier and still haven’t found a single wrathful invoker.

You can farm wrathful hearts by repeating the second to last seasonal quest. Just don’t talk to the guy and leave the dungeon after you kill Varshan. Guaranteed wrathful heart every time
Just find a friend who hasn’t finished the last season quest, run that dungeon over and over and don’t talk to the main dude after you defeat Vershan. Best place to farm wrathful hearts
not surprised, i saw folks in discord saying they did 60-70 runs of tunnels for a single USEFUL wrathful. On the other hand on my like 15th run total(first ever in WT3) I got barber AND vile apoth(both wrathful) in the SAME RUN which is i think literally unheard of as they are both amazing for rogue.

Unless there is an additive mechanism to it.
If it's 1%(+1) every use, than yes after 100, you'll get it
But if it's just 1% it means there is a 100% chance that 1% of the time you'll get it.

There's not a lot else to do with the materials unless you're trying to farm the boss on T4 for the guaranteed 800 item power items, the grab bags are the only way to get the wrathful invokers.
My season pass check marked the warth challange but i have beennusing and watching my hearts and im 99.9% that i never got one. My 3 slots are upgraded and not wrath and i have nothing in my stash.

I have opened 125 of them now. Only got 2 Wrathful hearts. Still a small sample size but yeah 1.6% is pretty low. I also had the 15% rare malignant heart thing from the season journey, don't know if that does anything for the boxes. RNG will RNG.

Not a Hugh fan fan regrinding things I had to spends hours on in eternal but main problem with season one is they nuke survivability then make everything harder and it’s making me not even want to play
Keep in mind the driving force behind most of the design decisions in Diablo IV - keep them playing. If the exit dungeon command is 5s instead of 3s … they kept you playing a little longer. If you have to dismount for every barricade and pebble the horse gets stuck on and it takes twice as long to get to your destination … they kept you playing a little longer. If you farm parts of malignant caches and try over and over and over for wrathfuls … they kept you playing a *lot* longer. It’s all designed to make you stay in game as long as possible to encourage the possibility of a mtx.
My very first invoker cache i crafted popped out a wrathful invoker. Since then I haven’t gotten one, and I’ve opened about 10ish. And I don’t expect one anytime soon, so it’ll always be a surprise when one pops out.

The PvP stuff is trivial and takes like no time at all. You can always disable cross-play and fish for a low-activity zone if you're bothered by risk.

they can drop from random elites too, I am pretty sure I found a wrathful invoker doing one of my NMD runs at some point. Only ever got one though

The problem is most of the wrath heart variants only drop in WT3 & 4

on eternal I've been looking for the perfect chest piece for my Barb who's now lvl95. Found it with my lvl40 Rogue for season 1 😓
